the "just plain ugly" car thread

I was doing some research about Aussie Falcons and stumbled upon the 1997 EL GT, a variant of the Falcon I had never seen before.

Australia, we need to talk.

1957 Spohn Convertible

Spohn, a German coachbuilder, purchased left-over cars from the U.S. military for their chassis after the end of hostilities in WW2. The Spohn Convertible was built on a 1939 Ford chassis with a 1953 Cadillac 331 cubic-inch V8 engine. It was a one-off and one of the last cars Spohn built.

Yep that's one ugly car

What did the Ferrari Testarossa do to deserve a treatment like this...
It had the audacity to be observed in its natural state by one Luigi Colani who then said, "Well, that just won't do."*

:P

*Edit: "Beh, questo non lo farà."

I sort-of like it! Luigi Colani specifically designed it as a speed record car (it failed an absolute record but did set the catalytic converter record at 218mph :) ) but for some crazy reason it never reached homologated production :D

I like it as well. I wasn't aware of that background and I've never seen it amongst its siblings with specific indication that it's one of his works, but it's just so quintessentially Colani. That Mykelti Williamson ("Bubba" in Forrest Gump) lower lip is just one of numerous hallmarks.

I like Colani in general. I mean...I can probably count on one finger the number of times I've seen one of his automotive* designs and found it genuinely attractive, but they're always intriguing.

*Edit to add.

What is that... oh wait a second, I feel a sneeze coming... *ACHOO!!!* sorry. What was I saying? Oh yeah, what happened to that line on the door?

I would like it if the grill was shorter in height and there were no pointy edges on the bumpers. Oh and chrome bumpers on 80s and 90s cars imo looks ridiculous.

I can see why people think they're ugly. They're boxy and to certain eyes, very gaudy. But I think they're pretty cool. But maybe because I'm a weird person.
I can't find them ever looking cool, I thought this neo-classic fad that manufactures were trying to do during this time was stupid.
