the "just plain ugly" car thread

I saw this thing in person. Didn't help much.

While I wouldn't call the Mondial my favorite design with a prancing horse on it I certainly don't think it belongs in this thread any more than the early ferarri 4 seaters... IMO at least

Mondial Cabriolet? Renault 4? Nissan Cube? Ugly?! Come off it. These are great designs. Mitsuoka Orochi, agreed is possibly the most offensive 'design' ever. I expect the designers left the clay concept in the sun and were out to lunch when the big wigs came round to sign it off. Actually I think everyone involved in this car was 'out to lunch'.

It looks like a fish. Or Admiral Akbar from Star Wars.

You're spot on! And here's the proof...

Please tell me that "thing" is not based off of an R230 Mercedes SL

EDIT: phew, it's mid-engined, the headlights scured me there for a sec...

:D Nice inversion of the names. I can't tell them apart.

Is the Orochi trying to suck in a load of Krill?

You can't pick on a 60's car for being a 60's car.

Ha ha. Avantime.

JCE3000GT
Its offensive to me as it wears a Dodge badge. ;)
So does the 1968 Charger.

JCE3000GT
I'll ignore the fact that you said that.
The Crossfire convertible was pure awesome.

JCE3000GT
The M6 is just pure sex.
No. The M6 is a terribly poorly thought out design with poorly thought out body kits slapped on it. There is only one good looking 6-series. And BMW isn't where you go to buy it.

Subject of an Alan Partridge nightmare. I present to you the hideous beyond hope Rover 100... Or basically a re-badged Mini Metro. Which itself begs the question; Why would you want to re-badge any car a ROVER?!?

What in the hell!?

It looks like a fish.

Or Admiral Akbar from Star Wars.

Its a Mitsuoka Orochi and its not supposed to be a fish, its supposed to be a snake. Well like i said earlier, ALL MITSUOKA'S ARE UGLY! :yuck:

The following are Pontiacs that are ugly...

Firebird / Trans-Am: Leaves you wanting something that doesn't have an aircraft hanger over the front wheels.
Fiero GT (and only the GT model): Wishes it could be something with reliability, drivability, and better overall performance.... aka. an MR2.
1994-1996 Grand Prix (supercharged models only): When body roll is measured in feet, and braking distance in miles.
1997-2003 Grand Prix (GT or GTP only): When attempting to update one of the ugliest, overall mediocre sedans fails.
Solstice: Worst attempt at trying to compete with a Miata, ever.
GTO: When the talent show was on tour, all it did was drift and suck in air through it's 8 nostrils.
Vibe (all blacked out): Because when everything is black, it almost looks like it's better half, the Matrix.

That pretty much concludes the list. :yuck:

Ahh, yes. Pontiac sucks because it is not the 1337 JDM of win. Brilliant. One must wonder, however, that if the Matrix is so much better than the Vibe because of its obvious brand superiority, why did Toyota sell the Vibe in Japan?

Must, Resist....

All I can say is that until Toyota brings the Aurion TRD to the United States, their "performance" models really can't match that of Pontiac's. Oh wait, I forgot that it just had its ass handed to it by the Commodore in several comparison tests...

Because imports are JDM tyte!

If the M6 is a failure, then what do you consider the XLR-V as?

How does sales success mask the fact that the M6 is a nasty looking automobile? The XLR-v may not be on the same level as the M6 sales wise or quality wise, but it sure as hell looks a lot less amateurish than the 6 series does.

I'll disagree strongly about the M6 being ugly. But, since the arguement has been raging for a page or so I'll just leave it as an agree to disagree. :)

Now, for more hideousness...

I got into an arguement today with a co-worker when he said this looked good. This is possibly the ugliest thing GM has put out minus the Aztek.
