R0ss, I'm curious what car you might get in?

I'd prefer you stick with the Beat for at least one more race, give me a chance to redeem myself...:sly:

I'll probably use it tomorrow then if I gain a big lead like i did last time I'll be restricting it/ changing car.

I didn't know if i should post these here or in a photo thread. I hope you like them, there is a few i think turned out pretty sweet.

I love them, cant wait to race tomorrow :D

Edit: Better run, or i shall be late for work.

Im in later.

Edit:
Is everyone in this week? i dont remember seeing that anyone is busy, Hopefully we have a full room this time!

Hi guys, great photos Ophiochus! I will put a few of mine soon too. Thanks

I will be in my lounge today testing so you are all welcome. Most of time I will be working so don't take it wrong if you send a message and I take a while to respond.

About the beat one option could be a kind of HP penalty for victory:
for example: each win= -4% HP reduction. If you don't win +2% HP. And that for everybody. Probably the beat will win a few more before it is balanced but that is not just the car, cause with a real good balance and a good driver you shave a lot of time per lap, and if you are the best well... you are the best.

Hopefully tomorrow I will make it to the race, never know exactly, but hope to see you all tomorrow, it's great to race with you guys, see you soon.

And as info:

offline I was getting 1m39/40 in good laps and 1m40/41 in the average ones. Online, after a lot of balancing I have 1m40/41 in the good laps and 1m41/42.5 in the average laps. Still having problems in one corner where sometimes the car just starts shaking like a crazy so maybe it can get a little bit better... or not...

That would be a good idea , but how do i add 2% hp? I'm already maxed out. I say if the beat is to fast, its the racers CHOICE to change cars. This league seems friendly enough that people will do it. And if not, then it is our fault for not using it.

I was thinking if we where really desperate for balance, maybe have 6-7 cars and have drawings for who gets what car. Kinda like the shuffle feature online, but we can practice with the car for a week.

I honestly am not to worried about balancing. I'm personally just as concerned with getting 2nd or 3rd (aka better then I'm doing now)as much as winning the race.

EDIT:Also, those a good times with the Autozam (thats your car right?) i used an Autozam on Laguna and i got around 1.44 normal and 1.42 for the fastest lap.

To be honest i would rather just keep it as it already is and then, just change cars for the next championship season. In motorsport, slower teams don't moan because the others are to fast , they just improve. if we stop using the beat we will still have issues with one car being faster then the other. The only way to stop this is to all use the same car, however I don't like doing this.

I agree, i do not have a problem with a faster car winning every race. I hope i didn't sound like a crybaby...

I prefer to see several cars on track and that people stick to them all season too. I already know who is who by their cars and colors.

-4%HP if you win. The +2%HP if you don't win would be just if your HP wasn't at 100% - which means that you won before one or more races. Anyway the numbers can be different and it was just a suggestion, because I feel that if you just diminish your HP to match competition is like wanting to loose or something... you get the idea. Basically this was used in DTM some years ago.

But other people is running as fast as the beat if you look to the lap times in first race the three first positions are running about the same times, and by what I have seen this week to laguna it is the same so any of the three can win if they keep consistent during the race.

Cheers and see you all soon

I think to avoid confusion I'll stick with the beat. I'm probably going to limit the bhp after tomorrow if I feel the car is too powerful. I'd rather be in the middle of the pack racing instead of at the front on my own. To be honest though I don't think i'll do too well tomorrow. The beat feels pretty unstable through a few corners, looking forward to it though!

By the testing this week I think some of us can have a meeting with the walls... and a long way then to the pits in a wreck with wheels. The track has some bumps that if you don't take them well will send you flying somewhere. Also the first corner after the start can be quite messy with different timed braking, it is a very democratic corner with a lot of different ways to do it. It will be fun!

I found that if I push it too hard, I wind up in the kitty litter. I think that anyone that can run a consistant 1:38-39 will have a good chance of winning this race.

Fastest lap? I predict a high 1:34...:scared:

It is just me or the online physics seem much more accurate than the offline physics?

I think your correct about the physics. The best thing with the start is for everyone not to try and out break each other in to the first corner, instead play the long game this is a 22 lap race.

True and with the penalties on, missing an apex slightly will be devastating.

I like penalties on, it keeps us honest. Damage on or off? I don't recall it being on last week, but brugb had it on today. I had to pit to fix my car on the first 2 laps...lol...

I like penalties it does keep it fair, what I was just saying is that, penalties make you a better racer, you learn to hit apexes correctly and overtake when safely. However, they can be irritating. If you revive a penalty, you will loose so much time that it will be difficult to regain, that's why I think a consistent driver will win :D.

We are in agreement also. I think there will be a couple blistering laps, but consistency will be the key to winning this race.

Also, I just reread the OP, it does in fact, state that damage will be on.

Yes i keep it set to light, this means drivers are less likely to make contact, however with the light setting damage only last x amount of seconds, therefore you don't need to pit.

Oh ok, I thought damage would be in its hardest possibility so I had it like that in todays practice. Sorry guys.

My laps are a bit better now, 1m39 the best ones and 1m40 the regular. But I have seen several people flying in the 1m35 and 1m36. Maybe I can chase the cervos this time! haha

brugab,

If you run those times consistently, and stay out of trouble, you will do fine.

👍

Myself, on the other hand, seem to find that I'm in the kitty litter way too often to be a threat...:ouch:

I should be online for this tonight - hopefully. I'm at a family BBQ at lunchtime though so I'll have had a few beers through the day (hope that wont slow be down too much!) I'm getting married next Saturday so we've been so busy I've not even been on gran Turismo for the last couple of weeks never mind tested for this race. Argh!

Actually, that reminds me - this will be my last race for a few weeks I'm afraid. Next weekend we're away getting married then straight into honeymoon for three weeks. I'll be hoping to join in again though once I'm back, if you'll have me?!
