Quick note about the tuning lounge, I won't be able to accept new friend requests on it until I have a new controller. Which will be in the next couple of days (hopefully)

No problem mate ;)

Hi all,

back and ready to race and chase the servo armada. Warm welcome to my country fellow Filipe - bem vindo! (welcome in portuguese).

See you guys in a bit

Even if it is odd for me but I will obviously keep all conversations with Filipe in english...

Just noticed Filipe will be driving an AZ too... beginning a AZ armada now too!:) Cervos, beware!!!

Another thing about this track - there is a corner with a concrete platform or something and noticed that penalty from game doesn't flag you if you go all on it... maybe the better for the sake of simpler racing and no acusations on cheating or something is to use it normally as part of the track... don't know just asking you to decide cox box... I think it will be simpler and cleaner that way.

Yes I have noticed this, for the record you can all use this as part of the track, no penalties will be given if you do.

Happy racing Coxbox.

Edit: I think we will have a good turnout today hopefully.

there should be more, can't believe my controller broke though, I was looking forward to racing in the beat again.

i thought i was gonna make it but i guess not. i woulda lucked out, with the lack of racers id probably get a good position. I think we should have a good turnout next week.Good job greest.

Thanks Ophie.

We saw you get on the game, but you were a tad late, as the race was just started...:(

Sorry for not showed up, but my dad arrived from france and i spent the rest of the day with him.

Once again sorry :(

No gain on Ace...:banghead:

HEHEHE my plan is working. I've got a very comfortable points lead, wonder how long it will hold up. I am not going to mess up next week, so don't count on that greest.

Was home at 20:20 my time => 20minutes too late -_-
Would have given them Cuore/Mira Team a good run for their money.

Well next Week I´m there 👍

Project I have been working on

Hey guys I have been working on a project when we are not racing, and would like to gauge your ideas on what I have done so far, before possible release.

OK, what I have created is a piece of software for the GTP online community. When I was setting up this championship, I was having issues working out the amount of laps required for each race track for the series. I decided I would create some useful software which can work this out as well as some other things, to make setting up a championship easier.

Based on a few inputs, the software will work out the laps required for a certain race distance and the average race time based on a average speed input.

The software I have created does work, providing a correct answer. There is a few more items which have to be completed such as adding some validation so the program does not crash when inputs are empty or non numerical, such as text.

Do you think this is a good idea? If so, I will finish it and then make a final build complied to and executable, available for download from The GTP forums, however future updates can be applied.

wouldnt you need to know the track to calculate the average speed and race time?

Kinda like how the nurburg takes 8 mins, not becuase its 12.9miles long but becuase your turning alot.Sorry if im missing something that would make me wrong. Other then that its a great idea, im sure alot of leagues will utilize it!

well yes an no, first of all the race distance time is an average figure not completely accurate, just something which can be used as a guideline.

I may add a section to the program which will list each track on the game and their length.

Hi all,

last race was my worst... got 6th because no one else was racing to get ahed of me. After some weeks closing the gap to the cervos, and when I was finally running at same pace something not worked... even without the two mistakes I made I would stay at least 10s behind the 5th. Well... next time will be better hopefully, the AZ has more to give I'm sure.

Hey coxbox,

the software is handy but if there isn't a way in the game to know easily the average speed it will be a lot of trouble... if there is no problem at all. And an idea - maybe you should give some extra time, counting automatically (ex N km => 1 pitstop ), for pitstops... it will make more sense the longest is the race.

Cheers

And guys just an idea to go thinking:

to celebrate the end of our first k-car championship - I know it is still in the middle, but because is the first we had to re-balance a lot and more has to be done - we could make a race in Nurb - the big one - with bhp setted to the lowest of the available cars and the weight to the heaviest. And capuccinos allowed to - I keep my AZ anyway but it would be nice to try, just to see how it goes.

Well sorry for bringing this so soon but is just to get thinking on it, otherwise I would forget:dunce:

interesting, to be honest, there are too many variables in calculating the average race time, such as pit stops, speed of cars , ect. Your idea is good but pit stops can be slow and fast, again too many variables.

The average speed and race time is there to allow people to work out how long their race might be, it is not an accurate figure just a guideline. For example if your average speed was XX mph you will be able to finish the race in approximately XX:X.XXX. What i may do is add a disclaimer, which makes the point that the the race time is approximated average speeds may differ each race.

Coxbox,

about average speed - if you go to the lap times in some leaderboard, and take a mid lap time for each circuit it goes easy... I think your software should need just the name of the track and the race distance as input - the rest of info should be there already in the program database (it is not that much). That way it would work clean and very easy to use. Hope I helped

Cheers mate

What i may do is find a way to code each track and the distance of the track, so you can just select from a list, however this will take some programming, as arrays will need to be used and many if statements, for now i have provided a link on the software to a wiki with all the data.

Also just released when programming this sort of thing you have issues with text and decimals e.g. you cant store both in the same array, therefore it would be difficult storing the track name and the track length.

^^ This seems too difficult to do, as you have to convert for stings to decimal.^^ I can work out the Average speed, however it become complicated because you need to represent the number as a decimal which means fractions are required.

Edit: Ok I have an Idea instead of the user entering the average speed, the software displays the average race time for different average speed increments, like this:

Average speed in MPH 50mph 100mph 150mph 200mph[/CENTER]
Average race time 30 min 60min 120min 240min

Average speed in KPH 80kph 160kph 241kph 321kph
Average race time 30 min 60min 120min 240min

This would work however i would need to create two version of the software one in MPH and one in KPH.
