The little things that make you LOVE GT SPORT.

The way that the light from your opponent's headlights reflects off your interior, the inside of your roof, your windshield etc during a night race when you are using the cockpit cam. Totally realistic and believable. Extra amazing when you are playing in VR. Alsace at night is a perfect example.

^This. I've started to take GTS' graphics for granted that I only truly saw its beauty after playing other games and seeing how bland and lifeless they look (both in quality and lighting)
GTS graphics are truly one of, if not the best out there

You can go on and on about polygon count and all the other things however if your lighting engine is flat and baked in then you cant ever escape that 'cartoon look'.

I would hazard a guess that other like pieces of software have not come close to the GT6 light engine yet?

I don't think GT6 lighting engine is particularly unique. I'd guess it's more of an art style and PD obsessions with accurate color correction. Some games have inconsistent color tone it's either they are brownish or bluish. GT6 lighting is more neutral and pleasant to look at.

One crticism of sorts is that GT Sport (and past Gran Turismos) can look a little drab compared to others where their lighting makes the cars "pop" and almost look a little plastic.

You must not be playing in HDR....

What the hell is your problem? There's a thread for that. Post there, please please please post there, not here. I don't want anymore toxicity NO MORE. PLEASE. GIVE ME ONE THREAD THAT HAS NO COMPLAINTS, OKAY?
I am not illusioned I know GTS isn't perfect I know it has flaws, but god damnit let me enjoy the game! Let me revel its beauty, its flawed beauty. Let me have a space, or a thread, where I can just say how much I love this game is. Okay, my car doesn't show exhaust flames (which it does), so what?! If anything, why the hell should I see exhaust flames on a Hyundai Genesis?!

Go. Just- just go.

Haha OMG....I think the place you need to be is not on the internet. He has no problem...he only asked where the flames are. Think about yourself and dont post such dramatic comments.

I find it a bit funny that you are always running on the reserve tank when you drive the Ford MK IV. But still cool nevertheless.

Mr. Alpha makes a valid point, some people just will not give up on the exhaust flames which shouldn't even be there in the first place on most cars. It's kinda like the endless begging for Spa, every thread that talks about updates or future tracks a number of people always start begging for Spa like it's the end all, be all of race tracks. There has been such an overwhelming amount of begging for Spa I almost hope it never appears.

I love watching the analog odometers on the old cars slowly tick over to the next mile. So cool!

Did you check if you can roll the odometer backwards by reversing? Then you can go from 99,999.9 to 100,000mi over and over:D
Maybe it is one of those things you had to have done IRL to appreciate.

The contributions of the community.

Now that I've transitioned into mostly rF2 I can't find the same help I've had here in GTS. Case in point: If I'm having difficulty around a certain track/car combo, all I do is search up on youtube something like "Dragon Trail Seaside Gr. 3 guide" and I'll have at least 2 options to choose from immediately, like Kie's and Tidgney's.

If I look up something like "rFactor 2 Sebring GT3 guide", and despite this being a very popular combo, well... see for yourself  it's not that the rF2 community is bad, it's just that the contributions and help isn't as instantaneous as GTS', if you get what I mean.

And it's not just this either. We have MidFieldMaven's Tsukuba + Suzuka mother of all car comparisons, rex's fuel consumption & tire usage thread, and a whole host of other things that makes our GTS lives easier that we don't realize until we don't have them anymore.

Driving in Cockpit View (even though my lap times are slower than other Views, but it's just super fun and relaxing to drive in Time Trials), the Details in Cockpit View, the lighting (especially with HDR), Scapes Mode, Replays.

GT Sport is the (almost) perfect modern Racing Game for me.
I play exclusively in cockpit mode. If you put in the practice, you can easily match the pace of others using different views.

The UI and UX from this game are absolutely top-tier. It just screams premium since the moment you boot it up.
Interesting because the UI/UX could potentially pass for a PC game where you navigate menus with a mouse, but is completely wrong for a console game.
