I had an absolute belter of a 'lucid' dream this morning.
I woke up with the horrible feeling that either my alarm had not gone off or, more likely, I'd switched it off instead of snoozing it and then fallen asleep again. I was struggling to open my eyes and could barely focus, but I checked my phone and it was 8.30 already. "Crap" I thought, as now I had to get up and out to work quickly.
But then I started to realise that may be it wasn't actually 8.30, and I was still asleep and had just dreamed it... so I struggled to open my eyes again and decided to check my phone again - this time it was 10.20 already, and I panicked as I thought I was now seriously late for work - but again, there was something not right about it. So, eventually, I decided to actually get out of bed and check my phone properly - I woke up properly and sat up in bed to check my phone, and, sure enough, it was only 7.21... so, panic over... but - 7.21 doesn't make any sense. My alarm goes off at 7 and I snooze it for 10 minutes at a time - at the very most I could only have been asleep since my alarm went off for 21 minutes, but if I had snoozed it, then I must have dreamed all of that in just one minute... that didn't feel right, and, sure enough, I realised that I was, in reality, still asleep. By now, I'm starting to wonder what the hell the time really is, so I get up and out of bed, and go to the bathroom...
To my shock, a girl with a white towel wrapped around her hair and a white bathrobe emerges from the bathroom before I can get there. Clearly, I'm perplexed, as I live alone. She smiles at me and points back to the door I just came out of, and the penny drops that I'm not in my flat at all, but in my (female) next door neighbours' flat - but I can't remember how or why I'm there. So I go back into 'my' room (which is actually her room) and sure enough it is clearly not my room - it's tidy and has girly bed linen, curtains etc... and, sure enough, the girl from next door is in the other half of the bed, also half awake. I say sheepishly, 'Hello', and she wakes up and jokingly mimics me, saying 'Hello yourself' and laughs...
At this exact point, I really do wake up, and look at my phone - it's 6.59 am and my alarm goes off about 5 seconds later...
