Norton, the former WBC Champ died of congestive heart failure on Wednesday in Arizona at a health care facility. He was 70 years old.
Best known as the underdog who took on Muhammad Ali and beat him. Not only beating him, but he was also known for being the one to have broken Ali's jaw in that 12 rounder back in March of '73. He was un-able to defeat Ali in the re-match, but he did make a mark in history as far as the Boxing world is concerned.
Norton, who was born in Jacksonville, Ill., finished with a record of 42-7-1 and 33 knockouts. He later had an acting career. He was voted by Ring magazine as one of the top 25 heavyweights of all time, and was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1992.
