There ain't a chance in hell we'll be seeing the XX Programme interact with anything but other Ferraris. Just look how many cars the FXX & 599XX ran against; none.

I am disappointed though that the P1 GTR is a client based car though. I was under the assumption McLaren had plans to run them internationally.

The P1 GTR has hit the track for testing.

As wild as the P1 is, I couldn't help but feel it's underwhelming (even in GTR form) when compared to an LMP1 machine. Now THOSE are astounding to look at in person. There was a 919 at the Paris motor show and I was stunned by it. A truly memorizing machine. Why can't anyone build a street legal LMP1-esque car?

Call me crazy but I don't find LMP1 cars to be all that spectacular. The McLaren P1, quite the opposite.

Why would you want them to?

A homologation spec LMP1 car would be amazing. I'd be so much more interested in that than I am the P1.

Here's the problem I have with that: Supercars barely are road legal to begin with and just looking at the Maserati MC12, a car that's the closest to a old GT1 Prototype for the road as you can get at present, is a perfect example of how close that line is already being pushed. If anything, its basically a race car first and street car second (Just like the Mercedes CLK GTR). Its asking way too much to have someone build a car like that and somehow have it road legal.

"Get" as in buy? On used market? MC-12 and all the rest in that case.

Exactly. It's unreal how an LMP1 car looks in the flesh. Like something out of science fiction. Much, much more radical than Formula 1, in my opinion. I think LMP1 is becoming dangerously close to being as fast as F1 as well.

Well not really what I meant. I was saying that if you wanted to find a road legal car that was close to a Le Mans Prototype, that was the most recent example.

I wonder about the Enzo; same engine size etc. and if you look at one smashed up it's basically a racing chassis/monocoque with the engine/train suspended behind a carbon bulkhead. Only looks like a road car with the skin on.

You're probably right though....just saying...and only because I hate the MC12 for reasons I've never understood :D

Ah. Ignore me then.

I was over the moon when I spotted the Harrods livery on Facebook. It's totally different to, but reminiscent of the F1 at the same time.
