Has anyone seen this dance? Its a FUN AS HELL Dance to do, Its mostly done at Raves and its just the most fun thing you will ever do!!! check it'

Lmfao, I guess No One Likes to dance around here?! first my c-walk thread, now this?! lmao

I've watched a few kids crip walk, c'walk, or whatever it's called in real life, and in videos. It's pretty entertaining if the person knows what he's doing, and is good at it.

This melbourne shuffle thing looks like a kid having a seizure. Reminds me of my daughter when she gets an energy rush and starts running around the living room acting crazy.

At any rate it looks like a damn good way to burn some calories!:scared:

I think in that C-walk thread Casio said he did it at the club or something. Someone from Australia said it.

So anyway, I showed that to my dad like a month ago and he wants to know what the neon belts are for. We also can't figure out if the person with the big green striped pants is a boy or a girl.

Anyway, now I put on the iTunes radio Hardstyle HB channel when I'm kickin' it with the Pope and DDTing a bishop.

Definitely not me, I'm way to un-co to even try. Unfortunately I do have to put up with it a lot down here depending where you go. It's big in the teeny-bob clubs where you get a lot of try hard dero guys, trying to pick up feral bimbo trash. It's not really prevalent in harder clubs.

It hilarious that guys will actually do this **** around chicks to pick them up, only get to a huge rejection because they look like a ********. The only thing worst than seeing a guy doing the Melbourne Shuffle is a guy doing the Melbourne Shuffle badly, thinking he's all that.

Lol. That sounds interesting.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I would need to wear some kind of compression suit were I to go to a club and attempt this. Gotta make sure my legs move more than my junk does.

It's everywhere in Australia.

It's terrible.

You've not seen hilarious until you see a shuffler try to battle a B-boy in a club. Seriously.

That happened when I went to Mint. It was the strangest place ever. It was quite empty, but then all of a sudden this breaker is strutting his stuff and then this guy starts shufflin'. All of a sudden this group of 20 random people are in a huge circle and are having some kinda of shuffle/break off.

And this strange man was sitting in the corner, he was about 500kg and I swear to god it could have been Jabba the Hut, he didn't move the whole night but he had this completely boneable chick sitting on his lap the whole time.

I like the way the person with the big green striped pants dances, not the others though. The others move way too agressive.

The Melbourne Shuffle?

Isn't that where they look left and you go right?

Incidentally,

its just the most fun thing you will ever do!

I'm afraid this week's "Spot the Virgin" competition has had to close early.

Such a shame it's such a long time until the next GTP awards. If I could vote, that would be my best quote!

Some of my mates are right into the Melbourne Shuffle scene (some even with vid's on youtube), but I just don't get it and often find myself laughing at them when they are practising. To me it's just a big fad, and much like the whole c'walk thing a few years ago it will die out eventually.

Hahahaha, I can't believe somebody would actaually wear those.

But I guess they would be cool if you'd pop some E.

EDIT: One of the threads over at Melbshuffle.com;

well havent been in australia for like 8 years now but here in croatia u can see only like 3/10 people who know what melbourne shuffle is and 1/100 who know how to shuffle so when someone sees u here they look at u like u r a freak or something what doesn't bother me, the thing that bothers me is that when i hear from people who know how to shuffle properly are crying about how stupid it looks like and **** like that

and nop i haven't see a shuffler trying to battle a b-boy yet but i saw a shuffler battling a c-walker and a ordinary hip-hop dancer where a shuffler just owns XD

Please try and avoid the text speak, it makes your post really annoying to read.

I'd make the same point, but drop the "Please" from it.

Seriously, that's one of the most gibberish posts ever made on GTPlanet, even though we have rules - which you very recently agreed to - about standards of English.

And swearing too? No need.

I saw some noobs trying to shuffle on New years eve on top of a mountain (Mt. Dandenong i think) just before Midnight. But we were too far away from Melbourne to get any good photos of the fireworks :(
The shuffle looks pretty cool if its done right in all honesty

Was just wondering if any of you GTP members know how to "Melbourne shuffle?" It originated in Australia(duh), and I'm pretty sure it's not that popular in the US. I'm currently learning how to shuffle; I think it's pretty cool.

Here are various snippets from the Wikipedia page:

The Melbourne shuffle is a style of street and rave dance that originated in the late 1980s in the Melbourne underground scene. The basic movements in the dance are a fast heel-and-toe action with a style suitable for various types of electronic music. Some variants incorporate arm movements.

2000–2008
In 2006 with the rising popularity of YouTube, dancers internationally now contribute to the Shuffle online, posting their own variations and learning from others.[3] The German band Scooter featured the shuffle performed by veterans Pae & Sarah in the video for the single J'adore Hardcore. The Melbourne shuffle has changed as it has evolved over time, as more people have practised the dance, the dance itself has changed from the majority of hand movements over feet movements, to present day, where it is mostly based on keeping in time with bass beats.

Mid 2009–Present
In early to mid 2009 the infectious popularity of the Melbourne shuffle on YouTube began to calm but not die, bringing apon a new age of shufflers. The dance began to revert back to what some people call "Oldschool". This reversion of shuffling consisted mostly of wide variations of the "T-Step", minimal running man, and is accented by glides and spins. Although this may be referred to as "Oldschool" this new age of style is still very different from the way rockers in the '90s danced.

Here's two videos

Yeah, it is not for everyone. e.e;

While I appreciate the trip down memory lane, part of the last quote mystify's me and this is the bit I'm talking about.....

BS! All I saw in that first video was 95% running man, and the other 5% using the T-Step and the spins. But it is sort of different to us who raved in the early & mid-'90s (I was a raver kid in Sydney, loved the "coloured panadols"!! :D) and back then there was a LOT more jumping involved compared to the hardstyle of today, while still utilising a lot of those same moves. Plus I saw a lot more glowsticks & pacifiers (so people didn't grind their teeth to dust on the "coloured panadols") back then compared to now.

 Wasn't there a thread like this not too long ago? Here we go again.
