Garbrandt humble in defeat. Don't expect anything less. Disappointed in the result, but Garbrandt will be back for his belt. Kudos to Dillashaw though, great comeback from being dropped at the end of the first. Can't wait to see them fight again.
Now, Bisping v GSP. Will all three belts change hands? Not likely. I got faith in Bisping to KO GSP like Matt Sera did. But man, what a card so far. Absolutely insane.

I reckon GSP's biggest weakness will be cardio. Moving up a division and so long before fights, it's gonna come back to hurt him.

Honestly, even though they booked Whittaker for UFC 221 in Perth (February), I doubt GSP will fight with that small of a turnaround.
But just wow. What an amazing card that was. Probably one of, if not the, best I've seen.

I haven't watched any fights in a long long while, but it looks like I picked the right event. 
Nope, but I was only poking fun at GSP's history of not being that active of a fighter, and also how the UFC tends to go only for money fights. I won't be surprised if GSP v Woodley happens despite Dana saying otherwise.
If that's the case, promote Whittaker to the main title, strip/demote GSP to interim title and have Whittaker fight Rockhold or Silva (depending on what happens against Gastelum).
Hopefully though common sense prevails and GSP v Whittaker in Perth is booked.

Rose Namajunas.
She carried herself so well pre and post-fight, was in control inside the octagon and gave a good interview afterwards, thought-provoking and intelligent.
She didn't have a scratch on her.
I was in Joannas camp for this one but Rose won me over. What a classy lady.

Garbrandt a total douche in the post fight presser. Basically said TJ capitalised on a "mistake" and in his mind he is still the superior fighter. Needs to go watch Cruz's post fight for a lesson in class. Or even Bisping's.

Well, where to begin. Let's start with the smallest news, GSP is going on vacation, but will fight Whittaker when he gets back. But that won't be for a couple months. And that's the last of the good news.
Secondly, Anderson Silva's legacy is destroyed now. He's been flagged by USADA and pulled from his fight with Gastelum. And he was so close to the title again. Very disappointed by this news.
Thirdly, and perhaps the biggest, Conor McGregor has gone on a rampage at the Bellator MMA event in Dublin last night. To sum his night up, he jumped the cage after a fight, stormed around the cage, got into a heated back and forth with the ref, attacked the ref, was escorted out by security, only to come back and attack a commissioner/ring official. What a 🤬

Pretty disgusting, especially as the fracas ended up close to the knocked out fighter who was still trying to recover to his feet with his team. Conor has become an ego powered clown, I don't care who he fights next in UFC, I'll be rooting for them!
I also see Frankie Edgar has withdrawn from 218 with injury

If Dana lives up to the precedent he set a couple years ago, McGregor will be suspended or cut from the company. And yes, Edgar is out of 218 against Holloway, but apparently Jose Aldo has signed the contract to replace Edgar at the event. Good to see the fight salvaged, but it really should have gone to Cub Swanson.
Also on the injury front, Dominick Cruz has broken his arm and won't fight Jimmie Rivera at UFC 219. No replacement has been named yet, I believe.

As we know, the main sticking point for McGregor in negotiations to return to the Octagon is that he gets part-ownership. Now, he's never gonna get that in the UFC so you know what he can do?
Buy Bellator. Or at least buy into it. Yes, I know, his antics today aren't what a normal person would do to get into a company, but this is Conor McGregor. What if Viacom and Bellator go out of their way to poach McGregor and entice him with part ownership of the company. Imagine that, Dana White's golden child leaves and buys their biggest rival, and runs it against the UFC.
Of course, I doubt this would ever happen. Scott Coker is from all reports a very smart businessman, who is highly regarded for his care for the fighters and such, so him giving up some or most of that control to a loose cannon in McGregor wouldn't be wise, and could crush the company, but then again, it could also raise it to another, entirely different level.

Did I just wake up in the twilight zone? How the 🤬 did Bisping get onto a card TWO weeks after his last fight? A fight where he was knocked down and choked out??
Yeah, Bisping took the fight the week after 217, UFC gave the approval of it too. Massive respect to Bisping for taking that fight, but to watch him get KO'd that brutally just two weeks after a war with GSP, doesn't look good for the UFC. Especially considering the current stand off with Mark Hunt and the UFC over fighter welfare.
I guess in terms of popularity, yes. Bellator is this new company that's gradually gaining popularity, like the UFC was, but I guess today the UFC is a it like Pride, it's the biggest fight organization on the planet and also currently the most revered.As some fighters say, Bellator is what the UFC was around a decade ago while Pride was the UFC of back then, lol. Do you guys think that that is true, lol?
Francis Ngannou is a scary, scary man. One of the most brutal one punch knockouts I've seen in the UFC. Overeem nearly got lifted off the ground by that uppercut.

I think Overeem has joined Arlovski in the league if glass jawed fighters. That is not a criticism, but, like other older fighters, after taking shots for so long, there is a point where it doesn't take much to turn off the lights. Ngannou merked him, but I don't think Overeem is the fighter he once was anyway. Stipe, watch out!

Ngannou is a serious threat. If he keeps improving, he'll be on top of the heavyweight division for a while. I can't see Miocic standing much of a chance, but boy, am I excited for that fight. The sooner the better, I reckon. Maybe at UFC 220? I know they need a main event as Cormier v Oezdemir is only the co-main for now. Or is that apot going to the TJ v DJ flyweight match that Dana says is gonna happen. Who knows.

And we'll never know now, as GSP has vacated his Middleweight title. Robert Whittaker has been promoted to the Undisputed title, and will now fight Luke Rockhold at UFC 221 in Perth.
Also, Mark Hunt has been medically cleared to fight, with his suspension lifted after flying to Vegas to complete some tests to prove his fitness. He's eyeing a fight on the same card as Whittaker, preferably against Werdum.
But before UFC 221, UFC 220 is taking place in Boston in January. That card is shaping up nicely, with Cormier v Oezdemir set as the co-main event, and Stipe Miocic v Francis Ngannou set to be confirmed soon for the same card. Kicking of 2018's main events with one of, if not the, biggest heavyweight fight in UFC history is a good way to start what should be a very good year for the UFC.
