Isnt that just a rebadged Infinity G35? Im not too sure on these N.A. only makes.
I wish they called it the R35, keep part of the legend going

I'm confused... I thought the G35 was based on the new Nissian Z. I didn't know or think it had anything to do with the skyline.

It is a redesigned car... its suppose to be an "all new" car. Do you have a link, or a source so maybe I could check this article. Its news to me.

I am not saying your wrong, I am just curious myself now.

I got the info on my local newspaper , but anyway , I did a quick search on Google and managed to get a lil info on the car . Check this websites :

Infiniti G35
http://www.infinitig35.net/
" All necessary information about the Nissan Skyline and its american derivative, the Infiniti G35,... "

Hmm .. thats all . You guys might wanna check other sites as well . Now I'm also confused whether its a Infiniti or Skyline . I think its an Infiniti ... might be a typo in the paper .

The "all new" Skyline in Japan is what we call the G35 in the U.S.. Technically, it is all new, but it's been "all new" for almost a full year now. And yes, the 350Z, G35, and G35 coupe share the same platform and engine.

So on more simple level of thinking....

Does the U.S. have its own version of the skyline now?

Or does the U.S. once again have something that looks like the skyline. (Big Difference)

The US is getting a skyline, a REAL Skyline which Nissan had released the info at the Paris Autoshow (I think, it was one of the Major shows) The G35 is basically a Z with some restyling...

Are u guys talking about the Skyline GT-R?
Nissan makes regular Skylines (coups and sedans) and the Skyline GT-Rs (the new model hasn't come out yet).
The Infinity G35 is the same as the Skiline (in Japan).
The 350z is the same as the Fairlady Z(in Japan).
The car in that pic isn't a GT-R it's a regular Skyline (or Infinity G35 in the U.S.)
I did here that Nissan is going to bring the GT-R to the U.S.

They are all based on the FM platform.
The only thing is, the older R34 is not on the same platform as the new FM platform which is based on the new Altima, G35 and 350z.
Personally, the G35 is weak looking and has lost all of its aggressive appeal of the original R series Skylines.
THe new GTR concept above is nice but just a concept.
Im curious to see what will become of the beloved Skylinr R32, 33 and the ubiquitous R34 GT-r.
Nice post and glad I found it.

Does no one read anymore? :P The previous generation Skyline (as in, the "GT-R R34" Skyline) is no more. In fact, there will be no "R35" Skyline GT-R. The terms "Skyline" and "GT-R" have split. As in they are going to be two very different cars. One half has been introduced already -- the Skyline. Most nations outside Japan know it as the G35. Coupe, sport sedan, a few spec levels, but all Skyline/G35/same-damn-thing.

The GT-R half (and, so far, it will not have the name "Skyline") has not been developed yet. A concept was made, and a picture of it has been posted by JDMTypeR.

The FM (front-midship) platform used by all Skylines/G35's is shared with the Fairlady Z/350Z.

:P Ack! Thbbppt! :P

Infiniti can do a lot with that platform and engine. Did you know the G35 is more than a foot longer than the 350Z?

Yup, they had a good article on it in the Sport Compact Car issue. It was a very informative article and makes me appreciate the car much more. ;)

I know how you feel. I'm subscribed to 12 mags, 9 come every month, and 3 come every other month. I been subscribed to these for around a year, I learned tons about cars, it was defiantly worth the money.

Yup, between motorcycle mags (will own a sport bike once the Cavy is paid for), Mountain Bike mags ($1,100 dollars worth of Schwinn full suspension bike) and Car mags, its hard to keep them up to date by reading.
The knowledge is invaluable for forums and knowing about certain products, especially when you plan on a purchase in the near future. ;)

Omg.... the new skylines just about look exactly the same as the 350z.... like ****....

What the hell would they redesign the Skyline? Skylines have a certain "look" which the ones in the past have kept. The new ones don't have, so why keep the name? A waste of good tradition... IMO

i dont really like the front end of that concept :yuck: thank god concepts never look like the actual cars they turn into....I liked the look of the R-34...mean looking...

I found some pics of other peoples version of the r-35....personally I like them better....

Those two are wayyyyy nicer than that G35 and gt-R concept  I think Gt-r's should look smth different than those new-age-style cars. Although I would take any car which performs like a skyline. :D
