Well it's finally coming to America. Too bad the styling was too late. I'd much want that '73 model in the mag.

Sorry about not having the first part of the text, but the picture I found was corrupted and it's late and it's in the parents room and they are catching some Zs.

Well, concerning the design,... these pics show a conept car, I don't think that it will look like this.... at least I hope so..... ( it's not that bad, but I've seen nicer concepts... I'd like to see that it is the sequel of the R34, and not a completly anonymous new car.... = agressive front light you know like this :
: \\\\ ---gtr---//// and 4 back lights Oo oO .... 👍 👍 👍 )

Very nice taste. 👍 That generation GT-Rs has cult following in Japan. I think it's supposed to be super rare also.

Just seems like more specualtion to me, mostly guesses and rumors thats all.

It says that it'll have ATTESA ETS while ive read many times it wont have ATTESA ETS in stead it'll have a form of e-4WD.

Ah '73 Skyline GTR (KPGC110) my favorite .

4.0 V6 TT @ 400bhp

Would be cool if that block could then be transplanted back into the 350z, that'd be awesome!

Always loved the '73 model, it's very cool, Americany.

Not too keen on the new design, it looks a bit silly, but i guess there's still a long way to go with it. Needs to look more normal imo. That's what i love about Skylines, they're normal looking cars that go like stink.

Man I wish I could afford it oh well there's always the Z.

and the Turbos! heck the whole engine!

I wonder if it'll be called Skyline here. Even if Infiniti goes with just "GTR" everyone will refer to it as 0mgz teh new skyline!

Is it just me or is that concept a huge leap forwards in terms of design? It looks like one of those futuristic cars from a movie, like the Lexus in Minority Report or the Audi in I, Robot. I don't know exactly what I was expecting but this seems a bit "radical"...

It's a concept, you see radical designs like that, I've seen plenty that are more radical and futuristic. The Audi in minority erport was actually based off the Audi LeManse quite closely in body style, the Audi LeMans is on sale next year under a different name, the A or S9 or somthing like that.

That article is pure speculation, the details and final design (which Nissan say will blow us all away, is that a good thing or bad?) will be unveiled at the Tokyo motorshow later in the year.

yeah, the 70 and 73 skylines are the best. true old school. i wish they made the mirrors like that on cars these days. the rock so hard....and I think it'd be easier to see since you'd have no passenger obstruction.

this one is pretty.....well, it's pretty different. they'll clean it up and I think it'll be good.

If her face is ugly, no one will bother looking at her arse.
Not true--I"ve know several that I wouldn't even bothe to glance at coming, but that I'd watch after they passed until they were out of sight. Oh, right, we're talking about cars. There are several cars that fit that description, too. In fact, I absolutly LOVE the rear end of the G35 coupe. The front is OK, but the rear looks great. I for one wouldn't mind if the GT-R keeps the G35 general look. Maybe a little Z06 difference, but I like a bit of a sleeper.

i hate it it looks too futeristic i think if they release that it will ruin all the previous skylines reputations as nice cars. but hey that maybe a little ott

This should definately be in the 2007 GTR thread - created by SkylineGTR_Guy. That's just a concept - it will probably look nothing like the production GTR.

Nissan officially said it will drop the Skyline name. Although - it does - people, like you say, will still refer it to the New Skyline GTR. Some might even call it R35...

But in the United States - it's almost gaurantee to be called Infiniti GTR. There is rumors that they will make it Infiniti GTR everywhere - including Japan. With this huge move, I can tell they will lose some fans already.

People in Japan, Australia, and other places - where GTR aren't that rare, they won't like it. Let's say Nissan is really respected in those places - as for - some might never even heard of Infiniti

At first, I thought Infiniti name might make sense, since it's going to be a very expensive sports car. I thought about it little bit though, and since Chevrolet has the Corvette, Dodge has a Viper and now even Ford has the GT with their own badge on it, why not? I don't think Acura badge did anything for NSX. It would've been just as popular under Honda name, if not more. I think Nissan GT-R would sound nicer! :)

Yeah easier intill you have to adjust them, got a broom stick .

(Refering to old school Japanese cars without electric mirrors)

I am pretty sure the next GTR wont be called Infiniti in Australia unless in the meantime Nissan sell Infiniti models in Australia, which I doubt. Like I said before this is all speculation and should be posted in the Next GTR dedicated thread.

Ah! But this is the 2008 GTR. :P

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I think that picture of the new GT-R is quite ugly. :yuck: What is wrong with all these new designs lately? :odd: Seems to get more futuristic looking but with some uglyness thrown into it.

Dear bob. I didn't think it was possible to make it uglier than the 350Z-based prototype. I was very wrong.

magazine hired some guy to make a "render" (photoshop of the concept), get over it ppl, it aint an official pic

Companies always make concept designs to test public reaction... look at the concept MX5 compared with the rather conservative update they settled on. People aren't ready for cars that alienate the buyer/fanbase too much yet...

Cars are slowly gettting more futurustic in design however, esp. with all the LED head/tail lights etc... If we want a huge leap in concept we'll have to wait until the internal combustion engine isn't a viable option anymore though!
