I have to imagine it will be quite different. Drivetrain and exterior/interior design of each car are independent of the other. After few days I still think that the rear end is bit ugly. But I'm really excited to see what Italians get out of it.
Fiat is going to make a smaller version of a car they don't make? The easy way is make a smaller version of the 8C. Since the ND are using LEDs, I expect the front end to be slick. The grill opening to make use of the traditional Alfa grill. Round tailights of course. The sound of the exhaust will be the best trick. The Abarth EssEss barks and pops even at low speeds. Should be good.
Don't they sell the NC there?Sell it in the middle east for the love of god mazda, so I can get a used one in 5 years time.

ND headlights are not LED, if that's what you mean.
Don't they sell the NC there?

I wish people stopped laughing at me when I tell them my abarth was styled by ferrari.http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/mazda/...-5-2015-revealed-pics-specs-and-all-the-facts
Fiat/Alfa/Abarth aren't under the same maker? That's news to me. I can see the confusion in choice of words. I'll use the word design instead of make.
Another interesting point is that both 1.5 and 2.0 develop their maximum hp and torque at the same rpms (6000rpm) as per Mazda specs.
Skyactiv 2.0
165ps(121kW)/6000rpm
210N・m/4000rpm
Skyactiv 1.5
120ps/6000rpm
150N・m/4000rpm
So the 7400 rpms redline would mean a significantly modified engine, be it a 1.5 or 2.0.
And if we asume the modified engine can maintain similar VE to 6800 rpms (reasonable for a 7400rpm redline), these would be the hp ratings:
Skyactiv 2.0
184hp/6800rpm
Skyactiv 1.5
134hp/6800rpm
Between the two engines?Any news on the weight difference between the two?
Mazda officially said "100kg lighter than NC". So I would actually conservatively put it at 2300-ish.Is this new miata really going to weigh just 2200lbs.?
That would be really impressive.
Between the two engines?
No idea.Yes that's what I was asking.
