The next-gen MX-5 Miata thread

I'm just waiting to see how it is behind the wheel. Plus if it did have pop up lights, people would just do this: :sly:

I like the front the way it is. Though, I do like these custom nose clips.

And im sure the Continental Tyres race versions, will be formidable.

  • Aero Kit (Front Air Dam, Side Sill Extensions, Rear Bumper Skirt and Rear Lip Spoiler): The gloss-black Aero Kit is the same package found on the 2016 MX-5 Global Cup Car that debuted at SEMA in November.
  • Brembo Brakes: Lightweight Brembo front brakes adorn the MX-5 as well as red brake calipers behind all four wheels.
  • BBS Wheels: The forged black BBS wheels are sized 17x7J 45mm offset, wrapped in 205/45R17 tires.
  • Luggage Rack: The stylish luggage rack is made of carbon fiber and weighs less than two pounds. The luggage rack mounts to the trunk and includes an integrated Center High Mount Stop Lamp (CHMSL).

I hope those Brembos are available for the 1.5. I'd get mine with cloth interior, the front lip and the BBS.

Gahhh, I hate those old luggage racks! At least the newage version if carbon fiber.

The only change I would make to this kit is to black out the mirrors. The distract from the car's lovely body like big ol' ear lobes.

The power retractable hardtop was popular, the OEM removeable hardtop was very expensive. I've only ever seen 2 of them.
Don't forget that you live in Southern California where having a hardtop Miata is totally pointless. No wonder you've only seen two. They're relatively common and extremely sought after here in Ohio where there's actually a use for it.

Oh yeah.

Its 85* outside right now.

I really wish the 1.5L would come here. 130bhp sounds like plenty, and it sounds like more of a revver than the 2.0L. Odd that Mazda would bump it's power versus other 1.5L applications, but no real changes for the 2.0L.

And indeed the UK. I bought one with my new car. They're quite expensive (though some of that is for the heated rear window and associated gubbins) but following what happened to my last car it's worth it for a little extra security. And the extra weatherproofing, of course.

A hard top for NA-NB in good condition, depending on color, can usually fetch around $1k USD.
That seems roughly what one in good condition costs in the UK too. I've seen them as cheap as £300 or so (~$460) but they're usually a bit tatty.

I'd probably wait for a special edition car, but I like that yellow. I'll bet that will be the color to have in 15 years. Sunburst Yellow NAs are super rare.
