A few days ago I posted in the marketplace that i was looking for a Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car. Soon after i posted the message i was informed that the car was on the untradeable list. Luckily, that same night the car popped up in my UCD.

If you come across the R390 Road Car, PURCHASE IT!

I tuned the car to 600pp and am comfortably turning 8:05 laps on the Nurburgring 24hr track. At 600pp with a perfect lap the car might be capable of sub 8 minutes.

I believe this car is one of, if not the best, road car in the game. I was surprised at its stability and power. Also, the car has front and rear aero adjustments which is a huge plus.

I painted the R390 Velvet Black (paint chip i acquired when i purchased Plymouth Superbird) and it looks awesome.

I was always disappointed by the Nissan in previous GT games. It never seemed to have any power or torque. Hopefully you are right about it in this game,

I tuned up to Stage II weight reduction and Stage III engine modification. I did not perform any of the Turbo upgrades (high/med/low - so you can add even more power if you want). Off the top of my head, at 600pp i think the car came in at 1082kg, and 505hp.

It lacks the brute strength and low end torque of a big block V8 or high liter V10/V12... but it is still a very capable car. If anything, the lack of low end torque makes it more controllable exiting low/medium speed corners.

*i first became interested in the car a few months ago when someone dominated my M3 GTR online in a 550pp race. My M3 GTR (as tuned by Deutsch Rennen) is no slouch, yet the R390 Road ran away with the race.

8:05? That's slow =P
&
my ZZII 00' does a 6:36 on the ring, my audi R8 4.2 tronic does 6:20

I am sure you mean 6:36/6:20 on the Nordschleife which is 12.9 miles (20.8 km). My 8:05 lap was on the Nurburgring 24hr circuit, which is essentially the Nurburgring GP and the Nordschleife combined... 15.5 miles, (25 km).

Also, what PP are you ZZII and Audi R8... 600PP? or more?

You could just have said it was on the 24hr curcuit =P

throw some comfort hards on it
6-speed close ration trans
Dominate drift events
Profit??

Seriously I use mine for any/all drift events. Be warned, its a torque monster with that tranny

EDIT: like on the drift seasonal at Fuji. It can hold the entire sweeper on section 2 without breaking a sweat

I will give it a try.

i have yet to give drifting a shot in GT5, but after hearing the most recent drift trial special event paid 1million Cr... seems i might as well learn to do it.

dude I did both within like 5 tries. Watch out though. its tail happy

I can easily run faster than that with a stock R35 GTR on sport hard tires. The R390 is a good car but it isn't the best.

I just modified the original post to correct a typo. "sub 7 minute" was correct to "sub 8 minute" as well as clarify the track my time references. Again, i am talking about the full Nurburgring 24hr circuit, not the Nordschleife

yes this car is great.. dominate online races especially before the pp system was (re)introduced. Its the front & rear adjustable aero made it good.

You should try VW W12 Nardo, it has adjustable front&rear aero despite no visible wings :D

Two words describes the Nardo: Love It!

But back on topic, how much is the R390 GT1 costs? I been trying to find this beauty, but JUSTIN and the ucd keeps it away by eluding me and giving me slow cars! :grumpy:

Soon R390, soon you will be mine!

Man! I've been trolling the UCD for the past week now and haven't come accross the R390 GT1 once! I am dying to get my hands on it!
Consider a trade for something of your interest? PM me :)

I bought mine for around a million.

The R390 Road Car is very fast...

Fully tuned, on sports hard tyres, it will run sub 6'50 laps of the 'Ring.

Somewhat unrealistic level of downforce!!

I so want to get this car so I can seriously try out the time trial event which this car is dominating even though there is loads of corner cutting. Interestingly the McLaren F1 is up there as well. I can't believe I have over 90% of the cars in the game yet so far don't own the Citroen GT or this R390.

The weird thing about it that when you encounter it in races offline, its a dog, always last. But its in some of the Supercar Seasonal events...way out in front. Its a much better car once you get some parts on it. Especially the adjustable transmission. Offline, you pass it as its topping out 30-40 mph slower then the rest of the pack, engine whining.

In stock form, it tops out at 155 mph, give or take depending on the downforce. I bought one last week and took it out for a spin and was a little surprised when I was bouncing off the rev limiter at 155. In stock form, it handles great but the power is a little underwhelming for the chassis. Around 500 hp and it's a blast to drive.

It's just a little under 1 mil, but unfortunately this car can't be traded :grumpy:

It's my favourite car in the game and has been since I discovered it in GT2. The only change I ever make to it is to fit an adjustable gearbox as it runs out of revs a long time before its engine runs out of go.

I had to troll the UCD for more than a month before i found it. Meanwhile i saw numerous cars i had no interest in repeatedly.

Really..?? That eases my consciense a little. I passed one of these up the other day, as I already had one in my garage. Never occured to me to buy a second one for trading purposes. Just as well I didn't...

If anybody wants an R390 road car, PM me.

How are you going to trade it, exactly?

I love this car, but then I love most of the cars in GT5. I have just realised this. I got mine in a pre-cap trade, in fact it may have been given to me by a massively generous GTP'er, and I hadn't touched it until I saw it dominating the Le Mans TT seasonal leaderboard, and yeah, it's amazing even without any tuning. I may not mean 'amazing' as in 'fastest car ever', though.
