MXTabs was the only one one I knew of that had anything worth looking at. You should learn to play by ear. 👍

I never could find much use in drum tabs, I just play by ear most of the time. right now i'm working on getting my double bass more accurate.

My little brother just got some drums and is takin lessons. I mess around with them ever once in awhile and even made a simple little beat, but I'm a guitarist a heart. :)

Thats how I am, I can do simple beats, but I still prefer playing guitar or bass.

I have the rythm for drums, but, unfortunately I lack the coordination.

Same here. Its hard for me when im hitting more than one thing at one time, drives me crazy. and then my bands drummer said i cant hit the bass and snare at the same time, and that confused me more. but ive gotten a little better since i first started.its one of those things that takes 10 times the conecentration to learn. (for me at least)

Yeah, I just can't coordinate my feet with my hands. Like, I could be a bongo prodigy, but the kick drum mixed with the hi-hat pedal mixed with everything else is a bit much. I don't think I would be as bad if I tried a double-bass kit, though. Nobody I know has one.

It's all practice, I used to be the same but when the drummer from Kiss Chasy came round' it got me inspired, he said it took him about 2 years to get used to it and turned out the same for me.

As for my kit. I own a 2006 Tama Superstar Custom in Amber Fade.
At the minute, It's a 5 piece-kit with a full Sabian B8 pack.

It's an amazing kit I got for my 14th Birthday, and it's so loud the walls keep vibrating and items fall off my furniture all over the floor.
It gets quite annoying, especially for neighbours in the morning.

Yep I don't have great cordination, but I can hit the Hi-hat and snare drum and use the footpedal for the base to make a rythym and I mix the crash symbol in every once in awhile but I cant think up somethin for the chorus of the song I made the beat for.

I'm a drummer! I have Premier Artist Maple set. Good fun. I'd write more if I wasn't
kind of drunk right now, but I use Evan's Hydraulic hea's and whatever sticks I can find.

My advice: take drum lessons!

Hi, i've been playing for about 10 years I think, I started out practicing on my couch cusions for about 6 months lol before I got my first Kit which was a Mapex Mars Series. My current kit is a rusty old Pearl Export but I use the Mapex's Bass Drum instead of the Pearl, it has alot more solid sound which I like. For cymbals I have a Paiste 2002 Thin Crash and China and also Paiste Dimensions Crunch Hats and Raw Crash, my kit sucks but these cymbals make it sound great :)

What cymbals you guys use?

At the minute im using Sabian B8's which sound great, a B8 splash is getting added soon. :)

Also, anyone ever played with B8 Pro's?
I'd love to know how they sound.

My cymbals are all mixed up - I have K hats, a Custom A Projection Crash, Paiste Ride, a few other things. I'd like a smaller crash next.

What sticks do you guys use anyway?
I've always been accustomed to 5AW's but have now gone Nylon-Tip.

Bad thing is, I decided to try out some sticks with a bit of extra grip (The purple stuff) from Vic Firth and they cause far more friction which means I now have a very sore hand.

Well, I'm a beginner snare drummer for marching band, and I must say that this is nice, sadly, not many people frequent here, but whatever. I'm also learning to play the bass. I don't have my own snare yet so it sucks, but I do have a Headless bass. My mom doesn't really encourage the Drum playing...

Man, I didn't even know there was a drumming thread...nice!

here is my dream set, but I will a bigger place I think...

Time for an extension...

Reminds me of this one: (Still has no where near the cymbals!)

My God.. Why would you need that many toms? man, a 4 or 5 piece kit (not including cymbals) sounds just as cool. Eh, guess it's because I'm not a fan of large sets.

Gidday fellow drummers!

I started drumming about 4 years ago when my dad dragged out his old kit which he used in a band ages ago.
About a year ago I bought my cousin's kit for $150. It's a basic "Sound Source" kit. I got the ride and hats from the old kit and put it with the new one, and used the separate hats from the new kit as cymbals. One of my actual cymbals is cracked now :(

I learnt everything I know just by listening to songs and playing it, same as the keyboard. Now, I can practically listen to anything and play it, except for the ultra-ridiculously fast stuff.
My idol is Ian Paice from Deep Purple, his solo in 'The Mule' is absolutely bloody incredible!!!!!

Learnt everything just by hearing it? Nice work. Wish I could do that. 👍

I'd love to hear you play one day. ;)

Thanks man, problem is, I can barely read percussion music, I can just read basic piano music, because I play that as well (also taught myself by ear).

Maybe you might hear me when I'm Australia's best drummer::sly:

Oh? That confident hey?

Got any recordings or anything of you playing that I could hear?
Im just curious, though I know you are good.

Talking about extra cymbals and drums, I think I'm due for a new china. I'm looking into a Sabian B8 specialty China, they sound gorgeous.

Nevertheless, who of you out there could possibly explain what the best 'addition' to your kit was?

Just got me a couple new cymbals today, a Paiste 2002 18" Thin Crash and a 2002 20" Crush Ride :) The Thin Crash is a very beutiful cymbal, like Paiste describe, it is a very Cool, Silvery sounding cymbal, it is fairly loud with a resonably short decay (a great combination 👍) and I was surprised and happy at how high pitched it was :) The Crush Ride is ok, it does what I want/need it to, but I must admit i'm not really a fan of Ride cymbals, I prefer to do what Lars (Ulrich) does and just ride on my China instead :D
