The Online GTP Users Dictionary!

David Coulthard or just DC. The guy that insists that he can take the inside line even if it means that he'll take your head off.

BTW: I like DC (stand up guy in my opinion).

DC is also the guy who insists that you weren't far enough along side him to make a pass and proceeds to turn into your car, no matter how far along side of him you are. :D

DC's are also usually old and grumpy. I could go on!

Here's a couple of terms we use at my house to describe certain online situations:

When a Disco Dan exits the race and thereby ends it, we say the race got RAINED OUT.

When you get punted off course and no longer have a chance of winning but continue to race, we say that you're just RACING FOR POINTS or BIG PICTURE RACING.

When you lose traction and spin without any help from anybody else (like when you're testing a new car or setup, or, god forbid, you just F up), we say that you HAD TIRE GO DOWN.

Also, if you win a race, don't forget to thank your sponsors!

Peace, Pastor J

StigNumber'd: Where you get beaten by someone with a third of your age, skill, knowledge, manners, political correctness, and experience.
BayConRong'd: Where you get beaten by someone who is perpetually high.

R.W.I

Racing while Intoxicated, via beer, booze, weed or any other chemicals that makes you think your a good driver.

KIMI: A grumpy winner who always thinks that winning margins count. Will break a smile when 2nd place driver has been lapped.

NoHoper: The guy who rocks up to a race in a Tuned Cappuccino looking to outrun a field full of Ford GT LMs.

A StiG: Guy who just posts lap records but never appears in an online race.

;)

El Chupacabras— a.k.a Online boost.
Existance of online boost just as el chupacabras isn't documented well. Does it really exists? Who knows, but it sure it's scary!
When you are on p1 and loose the race "somehow". One can say: El chupacabras got me!

 This whole thread is without a doubt the funniest thing I've seen on this forum since we had a 25,000 post thread in The Rumble Strip back in the day. The only one I could think of was:

Allison/Yarborough

Top two drivers take each other out with two turns left to allow third place to pick up the victory.

in my case most times I'm both.

I can't thank you guys enough for providing these terms.. It has really become something. There are a lot of funny ones out there. Perhaps someone that is cheesed about the online play will read this dictionary, get a kick out of it, and have a better attitude about online next time they play. At least I do.

Thanks again, and keep them coming.

Great idea for a thread 👍

I would like to create a dictionary. YOUR TERMS for people you race online that are giving you a hard time.

OK, here is mine:

Alonso - The guy that sends you a PM, and or posts on a forum after you beat him in a race, blaming everyone but himself for losing the race.

Those that follow F1 will understand the reference. :)

Délétraz - The driver who drives so slow that he's lapped within 2 laps. (Yes, I do know he was far better outside of F1, but his F1 performance was so hilariously bad, hes worthy of having such a term named after him).

That sounds more like a Fisi to me. That guy has NEVER lost a race due to anything but other drivers fault or mechanical failure. HE BLAMED THE PEOPLE INFRONT OF HIM FOR SLOWING DOWN TOO FAST IN HIS SHUNT (where he plowed into the back of the field in the first corner) LAST RACE FOR PETES SAKE!!!

True, but I don't think there has been anyone who has been more vocal than Alonso when it comes to shifting the blame on everyone else... including his own team!

I will say, at least Alonso is being a lot less vocal this year than he has in the last two years... some suspect it's because he is trying to repair is bad boy image in order to get a ride in a Ferrari next year.... but this is a topic for a different thread. :)

The 'BreakerOhio' Switching back and cutting inside to reclaim an overtake on Suzuka 130R as seen in this post

I've pulled this off about three times now and everytime I think of that clip

Pinball

A driver who shoots into a turn at top speed and pulls the ebrake to have the rear of his car ricochet off the wall which shoots him down the next straight at blinding speeds.

Bandit(s)

Driver(s) who get into a race full of GTP members, and when they see the GTP tag they race the GTP members harder then anyone else which usually results in GTP members getting punted or sideswipped or the bandit crashing his car trying to impress and make a point to the GTP members by beating them.

Oh snap! Still, gotta feel sorry for Davidson and Sato :)

Back OT:
Massa...guy in a fast car that manages to hit a wall/end up in a sand trap/spin by himself

Massa..Hahhaa lol..that one's great

LeisureSuitLarry

Unknown driver who takes a particularly close interest in your car i.e. rubbing, touching.
Your car, no-one elses. I think he/she likes you ;)

SUV
Stupid Useless Violation, referring to those who makes pointless moves to gain little to nothing or possibly lose out. E.g. 16 place player shunts 15th place player on the final turn or cutting a corner deliberately to gain a penalty which results in loss of position rather then gain.

The Rubber Band Effect or RBE - A stupid, idiotic, moron like assist for online events. The system dictates what kind of grip the leader is going to have depending on how the rest of the field is fairing in the race. A effect that ends up biting the leader in the butt, because it lets our ol' fav punters catch up to the leader, so they can over drive their car and take the leader out by mistake.

Wow a serious term...

EDIT: Here's another.

iPunt
Simply, an intelligent punt. This is when a driver makes a very calculated and delicate punt, just enough to give them room to pass without looking like a truly dirty driver, when secretly they are.

Also may be referred to as a 00Punt (said: double 'o' punt).

A Kubica
Shoving the nose of your car anywhere and everywhere, e.g. on the inside of every turn. This is known as doing a Kubica, named so due to Kubicas nose which is of, shall we say reasonable size.
