2003 Sonic Blue Termee! I miss mine

Good eye! I love it so much. I woud venture to say that it's about as fast as you can go for $20k. And performs much better than that with a couple more "k". I was about to pull the trigger on a 2004 Lightning but then I got the opportunity to buy this through the company I work for so I jumped on it. I'm in it at wholesale money even with the work that I've done to it. Buy yourself another one!

Well, Sonic Blue was only for '03 if memory serves me right ;). Bumper and Side Skirts give it away. If it was a Black, white or any other color minus the Yellow ones, I would have to see the key lock. Silver for '04 and Black for '03, but other than the suade inserts, not much difference.

Man nice buy  !!! Just saw one go at 25k cash locally. http://socalterminators.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18549

Dont post there any more, but I had 2. Silver one in late 2002 and traded it in for a Mach1. Got the used Black one after the Mach1 was sitting in the driveway broken :ouch: The Black one was used but didnt get the deal you got back in '05!

Heck yeah...I only spent 2k and it was quick! Though stock for stock, my '12 5.0 would kill my Black one :P

Thinking about it though. Changing the clutch, half shafts or any other part of the car was simple. Been under the car way too much.

Congrats!! I hate you :P

The only way I got the deal I got is because I do condition reports part-time for a company that re-markets bank repos and the owner likes me. I'm not a fan of buying repos but this came through and it was spotless with 42,000 miles.

One interesting side-note: I actually know the guy that developed the independent suspension on the Cobras. Eric is a master when it comes to suspension and I worked under him for a while tuning some of the designs he came up with.

BTW: If you get a chance to drive the new Boss 302, don't pass it up. It is a very fun car.

Dang! I sold the black one to the dealer with only 46k miles on it. But with 500 drag strip runs and had the dreaded vib! :guilty: Purchased with 22k on the clocker. What was the deal with the vib? Some cars didnt have them and some cars were paint shakers. I clocked the drive shaft in every single spot, but one day after changing the clutch I inserted the drive shaft into the tail shaft on a different spline. Move the vibration range up higher. Tried it on my friends car after swapping his clutch and he wasnt happy with harmonic it produced at 70mph but didnt mind the smoother drive. I never got the trans looked at since my car would eat pilot bearings up as some other folks were just fine....thought that might of been the cause.

I love the IRS for the fact it squaks nicely at the strip and turns on rails, but even with nittos it hopped at times. So does my 5.0 :ouch:...least the termee didnt drink so much oil!

So your old boss worked with this way back in the lincoln mark 8 days or the IRS cage set up? The housing is identical minus the inboard spline counts IRRC. The rear cover it self is identical I believe. If you need parts. Tously Ford in MI. 10% above cost on parts

I have heard about that problem but have never been in a Mustang with it so I really don't know. My first guess would have been driveshaft but I really don't know.

As far as I know, the only shared parts are the diff cover and bearings but I believe a lot of similar thinking was used between the two cars. As far as I know, he was hired right after the Lincoln suspension was developed.

Thanks for the tip on parts too, I'll keep that in mind.

You are very lucky then . Dont mess with any gears...seems to bring it out if the installer does not know what he is doing. Would of loved to pick his brain back then :drooling:. Dealers could not even fix them, so you were left to your own devices.

Not sure if Steve is still there and Modfords isnt opening the page for me. Dark side of the forum :ouch: http://www.svtperformance.com/forum...lincoln-mercury-ford-racing-distributors-320/

to stay on track & out trouble in this thread, if you need any paint let me know

That would be sweet. I use that color when I race in a certain series so I will use every one I can get. Let me know what you need in return and I will take a look when I get time.

If anyone wants an Orange Camaro SS, let me know. I have about 6 from when I needed paints in a hurry.

I'm in need of Suzukagrau Metallic paint from the R8 LMS car. You can buy the V10 R8 in it, but it doesn't give you the chip unfortunately.

Thank you GTCam

No worries.
