I had to look up BlackBrunchNYC to figure out what he was talking about. Basically he's figuratively pointing a gun at non-violent protesters, rather than just posing with a gun. That post seems like it should be grounds for removal from the force by itself. I don't know the circumstances of him leaving the NYPD.

Complete lack of any kind of awareness. Also probably shouldn't have access to any kind of firearm if he's willing to point it at people just because he disagrees with him.

In defense of the right trash, he was only symbolically pointing it at people with whom he disagress and was actually just pointing it at a camera. Still seems pretty awful to me, "but as long as it is the opposition, it's all fun and games."

If he has CTE, I feel badly for him. That's no excuse. He's a jackass, full stop. He's a fearmongering bigot who, on his trip to the border in Texas, used right trash rhetoric intended to whip his base and Utahns into a fervor. That he's black doesn't exempt him from being a bigot.

Yup, he was a safety in the '70s and '80s for the New York Jets and Oakland/LA Raiders. He also has zero connection to Utah other than being Mormon. He was born in Ohio, grew up in Florida, and continued to play football for the University of Miami (the school that falsely calls itself "The U"). He became a Mormon when he left the NFL, but was raised Baptist while his ex-wife is (or maybe was) Catholic. After the NFL, he lived in New York and Philly, ran a company into the ground, and I think only moved to Utah in like 2013 or something. The only connection he has to the state is his religion.

I don't know for sure he has CTE, but it would certainly explain how he went from being incredibly liberal during his time in the NFL to ultra-conservative while pushing right-wing conspiracy theories.

It could. Other things could explain it, though, and would likely still apply in the event that he doesn't have CTE.

His base isn't likely to have CTE and they presumably still latch onto the things he says. Those who espouse the views he parrots aren't likely to have CTE.
