I guess I can see how calling Clinton a criminal is funny considering

Who was supposed to have Epstein killed again?

Nope, just more liberal jokes. It’s kind of the whole “ if you can’t laugh at yourself who can you laugh at” thing.
More than...?

I mean...I think they should go where they think the material is, but being "equal opportunity"--which isn't actually the same as "equal"--means they don't avoid certain groups simply because of what they are.

Oh and just off the top of my head:

This discussion (re: SNL supposedly not mocking the left or liberals) also reminds me of a comment I saw on a YouTube upload of a sketch that was cut for time. The commenter asserted that the sketch was cut because it made fun of liberals (specifically the "Hollywood" sort) paying to get their kids preferential treatment by college admissions officers, and I remember thinking that was an odd position given that the sketch was conceived of, written, rehearsed, filmed and uploaded to YouTube.

...Who's the guy in the middle, top row? I don't recognise him. And I thought Steven Crowder might get a mention there, but alas.

That's this guy.

Language warning: I counted 1 BS, and 1 S by itself.

Just more than they currently do. I know you’re trying to get me to say “more than Trump” but you’re wasting your time by doing so. He’s the President so of course he should be mocked more, but with both parties being a complete mess it seems like they should have an abundance of material from both sides.

I never said they don’t mock them, so I’m not sure what the point of this part is other than show you aren’t actually reading my posts.

Believe it or not, I was hoping for an answer of any kind. See, while the sketches that "trash" a particular political entity may stand out, they actually represent a very small portion of the programming. It's been that way throughout the nearly 30 years I've been watching it. As they're working with a specific allotment of time, increasing the number of sketches that poke at the left in all likelihood means eliminating sketches that aren't political in nature.

In the most recent episode that featured that Elizabeth Warren cold open, if you disregard Weekend Update (because, as it addresses current events in a manner not entirely unlike that of broadcast news, it's obviously going to hit on political subject matter), the only other sketch that skewed even remotely political was the one about the canine soldier involved in the operation that resulted in Al Baghdadi's death, and the most political part of that was when it hit on the trend of digging up ancient dirt on someone deemed a political rival. The only time Trump's name was mentioned in the episode (still disregarding Weekend Update, though even it wasn't particularly "Trump" heavy) was in that sketch, and it was to indicate the dog was going to meet him.

I never said they don’t mock them, so I’m not sure what the point of this part is other than show you aren’t actually reading my posts.
I apologize, I see now that what I wrote doesn't read the way I intended it to be read. Please let me clarify and indicate that it wasn't directed at you.

The implication was that SNL supposedly isn't mocking the left when they could be mocking the left, be that more or at all.

And the point was to recount something I'd read, with the only direct link to the topic at hand being to highlight the lengths some will go to suggest SNL supposedly doesn't mock the left.

...

Off-topic: You apparently had some difficulty with my preferred text formatting (the font and color), and to your credit you didn't complain about it but I apologize regardless.

If you use rich text formatting as is the forum default, in the options above the text entry field there's an "eraser" button (to the left of a "wrench") that allows you to
remove any rich text formatting from selected text. This includes font and color, and it can be done retroactively.

Okay so it's over 2,000 images and is accompanied by audio, but I think this thread is the more appropriate place for it due to its being political in nature and I just assume not derail the Britain or Brexit threads with it.

Elegant burn there at the end.
