Sorry if I am reading this wrong but you aren't sure why it's called the Gulf of California or why Trump is hard pressed on renaming the Gulf of Mexico?

A am aware of Trump wanting to rename the Gulf of Mexico, and sure he can enforce a new name for being used within US borders, though internationally everyone else will stick with the old and established name.

This is why I dont understand why "Mexico should be renaming the Gulf of California" since it wouldnt affect the name in any other place than Mexico. I dont see the irony or funny side here ❓
