I thought this was suitable for a thread of its own as i've not seen this mentioned before, In a video from gamescom on youtube showing a sti at the Tokyo track, At 1.08 the car scraps the white barrier and it clearly moves into the track a little more.

to what extent do you feel this will feature in the game, It maybe more so on rally events?

lol no. wont happen. what im hoping for though is when you smash into tyre walls they will move. id say this is very likely and would be pretty cool

I saw it; the car clipped the barrier and twisted it around.

Exciting stuff.

Too bad the damage looks extremely dissapointing.

In a long lasting race things could get ugly though as you can intentionally smash and crash things on the course just to ruin others time and fun.
Nevertheless, that's what I like about it so much. :)

I do that in GT4. If ever I have a huge lead and I'm racing something like Grand Valley, I like to play soccer with the cones. I once did the sixty-lap endurance race once and took one cone for an entire lap, just because I could.

So, you saw the slight barrier move at 1'08, but missed the half dozen bales moving at 1'16?

Well, we've been able to push cones around for the last few GT games, so I can't see why barriers can't deform if hit hard enough.

SOME tirewalls, cones etc. are moveable. Which isn't revolutionary, but still very nice to have. If the physics of the objects are also well tweaked, it'd be really cool.

Is this possibly what the wind regarding the ability to form your own skypaths is about?

The ability to move tires and barriers prior to a race to create new tracks on existing circuits - rather than piecing together portions of actual circuits - (which doesnt really sound like something GT would implement, too unrealistic)

Those tyrewalls are totally unrealistic, I have never seen tyres used in tyres walls in such good condition with such good tread left on them, GT5 is a non purchase for me now :grumpy:

:P

Pretty sure thats confirmed i saw a vid. posted here somewhere that showed a guy hitting a tirewall and the tires went everywhere.

In the first video, at 0:40~0:41, did i saw backfire or i'm seeing things ?

Hope i'm not ! *-*

Good observation. Although I really am still hoping for a GT5 track editor.
Please PD please!!! :guilty:

What a waste of good tires, eh? :dopey:

Whats up with the tire barriers? I mean it's REALLY cool that they move now but why did they put just 2 tiny stacks on the exit of the corner? Kind of unrealistic I must say. Possibly they don't want hundreds of tires strewn across the track but if I was making the decisions I would make the whole wall out of tires. :sly:

damage to the barriers would certainly be interesting, should further help stop the guys who use the barriers to go round corners!

Suppose the perfect tires on the tire wall match the perfect tarmac on the road surface :P

im guessing theirs a couple reasons for the limited amount of tyres.

1. dont want a million tyres on the track
2. a million tyres will slow the game down alot, calculating physics, etc.
