Just a reminder: we will be doing C class. So make sure you are ready. Room should be up in about 15 minutes.

Yeah thats totally on me - Forgot to check on here before coming on the Xbox so didn't know we was doing C-Class & they were the only cars i had in that class.

I gotta question for @Gotbeefboy564 - How do you get lost some much? Haven't you done many races or driven around exploring?
I don't really know the areas of the map that well but i use landmarks such as : Trams / Festival / Car Park / Park - Just use anything in that area that stands out.

One thing i did notice in the lobby tonight was that the chases / searches seemed to last longer, Not sure if that down the being in the City or if it was due to the fact we was using lower class cars than we normally do.
What do you guys think?

Thanks to @ToyGTone @JASON_ROCKS1998 @ZDUPH @jwesson1 @AudiMan2011 @Gotbeefboy564 for coming to today's excellent room. Lots of great pursuits along with a nice and controllable amount of banter between us. Good stuff everyone. Here's to more fun lobbies.

Hmm... good question. I think it is a preference of both. The city grid proved to be difficult for some (*cough* Beef *cough*) and provided plenty of side roads where the racer can run off to, which raised the pressure to catch them. Combine that with trying to get the most out of a C class car, it turned out to be a high-stakes lobby.

I should be able to join tomorrow, Just need to know what time the lobby will be open & what car class we'll be using.

  • Picked a Mazdaspeed3 and paint it
  • drag raced with other players while waiting for others and realizing how slow my car is. (Due to the fact it almost near the top of the class, i could only change the drivetrain from FWD to RWD without going into B class). Also that old Ford at the beginning...
  • Types on chat that i'm going to change my cop car.
  • Ameer Responds but at the same time, another player apparently was still preparing his car which led me to get confused :dunce: and that if he meant by changing to another police car or just be a racer and cause chaos.
  • Took my Subaru Legacy outside while there's already that Galant (not sure who was driving it) driving around the city as the racer. :banghead:
  • Drove down the road and managed to confused someone.
  • Returned to the festival.
  • Process to change the livery but took too much time and decided to just go back to the Mazda
  • Finally started patrolling around the city
  • Get's disconnected from both the Room and the Party Chat.
  • Joins party once again and tried to tell them to invite me back to the game but no respond.
  • Waits...
  • Waits a bit more...
  • Waits a bit longer...
  • Decides to turn off his Xbox and goes to bed.

Why do i always have to miss all the action and fun?

Could have sworn you didn't come back online. Or maybe I was just too into the game to notice?

Sorry that no one replied to your invite request. But if you typed it in the chat, wouldn't someone have noticed it? That's odd how no one saw or everyone was not paying attention. Weird. You can also join the room from the pause menu. There's usually a box that says "AmeerSixtySeven is playing Online Freeroam" and you can click on that to join. I did that the last time I got disconnected and it worked fine.

In the end, get a mic! (You too @JASON_ROCKS1998.)

But seriously, a mic would be very useful in these kinds of situations.

---

Who will be available for a lobby in an hour or so?

Yes Please!
----
Like i said before, Xbox doesn't seems to pick up my mic most of the time but when it does by wiggling the wires around a bit, it shows that my mic (in the party chat menu) goes on but i'm not sure if it's actually working or it picks some random beeping noises (i don't know how to explain it but it happens when i first plug any headset). I wonder if i could get a separate standalone mic but how will it work exactly? especially on my xbox?

Another problem is that i just don't like talking that much to anyone that i'm not used to talk with, i feel like i'll end up in an awkward situations.

Sorry if i couldn't join right away but...
My xbox says that i can't send any messages to anyone (sorry that i didn't reply @Ameer67) and i had to check my account. So i went to a page and it says that check if you did something wrong. Checked and say that i'm okay, did nothing wrong. Then it suggested to update my security privacy and i did it then i signed out and in again to check if it works....it doesn't...:grumpy:

It's been like that for couple of weeks.

I have to agree with @Ameer67 that tonight we had another great room.

I think Surfer's plus using lower class cars works well for us for a couple of reason's :

Cops genuinely have to be on active patrol looking out for the racer, Not just sitting there waiting because if you do take that approach you won't get in on much of action at all, You also won't be able to provide information to your fellow patrol units either.

When in Surfer's the racer has a genuine chance of getting away from a Police chase, where as in other areas of the map once you've got the cops on your tail, you hope your car is faster or has better handling or you get lucky and the cop/s hit a tree, as thats one of the only ways your getting away from them.

If your the racer and know Surfer's well, you'll know there is some good hiding spots in the city.As the guys in the room last night found out after driving past me a number of times.
Once only finding due to getting the drone unit out and another time spotting my headlights.

The lower class cars making it more interesting as you find yourself thinking about where your going to be in Surfer's, your getaway route and the type of car you'll going to need. There's no point trying to out run the cops on one of the main straights in a Mazda Miata with 120hp as it just won't work but then there's no point trying to use a 1000hp 1949 Mercury coupe to out handle them in the side roads either. Its a case of choosing the right tool for the job and hoping it works.

Once the room had closed i then spent some time re-applying the vinyls to some of my Police cars.
When i'd finished doing that i then when out for a bit of solo patrolling and i came across this stolen Nissan R35 GTR which had been dumped in a parking lot to the North of Surfer's.
I decided that i'd better grab some photo's for evidence purposes.

My car (Well Buggy) of choice for the last two rooms - The Pandaris

You'll notice in the photo's below that i'm parked on the jump ramp in Surfer's Park but you'll see that the barriers aren't damaged so how did it get up there?????

Finally a time where I was able to play throughout the whole event from the start to the end. :gtpflag: And surprisingly apart from one disconnect I had at the beginning, I had no problems with playing online. 👍

I feel like I easily loss as a racer, I pushed my NSX too much and ended up oversteering into a wall with no room to escape. I definitely go at the bottom of the list. Meanwhile that Delta and Fiat chase were great and fun. That Polaris however, I haven't even seen it until near the end of the chase. And the LM 002 chases ended while I was even there. (I only saw that Lamborghini at the very beginning, otherwise wouldn't know that).

I wish if there were far more people here. I find it odd how there's far more people interested in cruising back on GT5 and GT6 at city courses... (London drive left 50 MPH or kick lobby's) than in actual open world driving game. Maybe it just me...

So are you going to disable "names over driver" for now on and add it to the rules? It definitely helped IMO.

Here's my four cop cars so far, each for different classes and also from different manufacturers & regions:

S1 class, The livery needs to be redone a bit because it was actually the first car I ever made for this club:

A class, Haven't used it yet but i made it recently for future use:

B Class, The one i made and used yesterday:

C Class, disappointingly slow compared to the other cop cars in that class:

Also just in case you want to see how it looks from the left/rear side:

We will vote on it as it helped make it more fun, like you said.

Well, for one, there is a much smaller install base of Forza players here on GTP compared to the Gran Turismo side. Two, we keep all our lobbies private, unlike GT where most of our lobbies were public and you can browser through a list of open rooms. I'm trying to get more people joining the club but it has been tough so far, not going to lie about that. I'll keep trying though. (If you guys would help out to by like recommending your friends to it, for example, that would be fantastic. 👍)

That Mercedes handled pretty nicely last night, didn't it? Good choice. The Speed6 was slow, yeah. I see that it is now RWD. Wasn't it FWD in the lobby or did you change it?

It was RWD in that C class lobby, surprisingly it only added one point by changing it to RWD. However I couldn't do anything else since the Mazda started right at 599 in C Class and went up to 600 meaning not enough room for anything else.

I actually made some modifications on that Merc mid-through the lobby to see if it's better or not, by swapping engines but went back to stock engine at the end.
