Well, I have a special announcement to make: after a near-four-year hiatus, Firehound Police Vehicles is back. Originally established as a business to create and distribute specially-tuned vehicles for police duty, FPV is pleased to announce that they are restarting operations from their new premises in the Gold Coast area.
While FPV are not yet ready to return to their old business of selling ready-made police vehicles, the Concept & Engineering Division have unveiled a concept for a special patrol unit ready to take on the unique challenges of the Australian Outback.
Using the Alumi Craft Class 10 as a base, FPV have outfitted this buggy with advanced communications equipment, including a built-in remote-control drone for scouting large areas and tracking fleeing suspects. Very little had to be done to the mechanicals, as the Alumi Craft is already built to tackle off-road races. This makes the buggy perfect for patrolling an area where suspects will likely take to off-road trails and fields to lose pursuing units.
While this vehicle remains a concept for now, this buggy could be used for patrolling the Outback area with approval from the chief of the Gold Coast Police Department. There is also potential in the future for FPV to begin supplying officers of the GCPD with custom-made police vehicles. After all, no-one understands pursuit cars like the people who use them.
