The real question is this.....

@ EERS - there are certainly exceptions. Some students can get on an accelerated program and go to college/university in a shorter time frame. The same can be applied to home-schooling. 👍👍 to your mom.

@ notmychoice - I believe the undergrad/graduate distinction also exists abroad within a single university. I think it's more that abroad it's a little more rare to have a school like Middlebury College or Dartmouth College that is at the same level academically (undergraduate) as many universities.

Gotcha, if only the entire system made more sense to me I might have an easier time choosing where to apply :)

In Franklin MA, where I went to school it was elementary 1-5, middle 6-8, high 9-12. It's what each town has for capacity in each building. Funny side note, all of the school buildings I attended were the town's previous high schools. So I can say it took me 12 years to finish high school!

No effing way. I went to JFK Elementary in Kindergarten and 1st grade (lived on Donato Drive off of Pond Street). Then we moved to Wrentham and I was in Wrentham Elementary from 2nd-6th grade, and King Philip for Junior High and High School (class of 2004).

Davis thayer 1-5, Horace Mann 6-8 then Tri-County for high school. Class of 02! I lived on Fisher st. right near Davis thayer from 1-7 then moved to Parliament rd after that. So yes I know exactly where you were. The Choate in my name is from the Choate Park in Medway, the one on 126 in the center of old medway!

This is awesome!

Glad I could help in more ways than 1. Hope you like being a Boilermaker!

I hope they like me first! :D By the way it's totally nuts you guys grew up in the same town. Apparently franklin breeds fast kids ;)

I love how every one uses the free time excuse for who's at the top of the leader board. When I had a full time job, g/f and was at the beach constantly I was still just as fast as I am now and I have considerably more free time, haha...time is irrelevant, skill is what puts them at the top.

I have to agree with this. Currently I am in the opposite situation, being on winter break from school and in between jobs having lots of free time to have a go. It took me an embarrassingly long time just to get from low 46's at cape, to 45.5. And to me that is a mediocre time given the amount of hours that went into it. I'm sure others have put in a lot less time to get similar or faster times than that. But all things being equal as I've been saying, the leaderboard would probably look similar.

S_Diem is a time trial monster, but any free time he has probably doesn't make his relationship decisions easier...(I've been there with the long distance thing)

Yeah its a tough situation because shes marriage material. But it's probably best to just deal with it if I get to that point. For now I'll just take it one round at a time. Plus as someone said before, the live event in Orlando will be somewhat of a wildcard thing as opposed to this time trial format.

Fix would have to move from his home alien planet to join us permanently on Earth.

Do you know Bob Walls ('04)? He was one of my best friends in Junior High (from Plainville), and went to Tri-County.

What's weird is that my wife's family is from southern Indiana, and they moved to Mass - you are the other way. After visiting Terre Haute (they love Larry Bird more than Bostonians do) last summer I think they made the right choice...but my Massachoosetts bias is pretty strong.

Bob Walls, the name sounds stupid familiar. There was a bunch of Walls that lived down the street from me.

Terre Haute is a horrid example of Indiana. The only good thing about TH is that when the rain hits there in May we know it's about 45 minutes away from the Speedway LOL!

I am still a rabid Bruins/Pats/Sox fan. I love the space here, personal accountability means a tick more. Plus, housing prices are just a bit more reasonable!

But there are somethings I really miss about Mass, like public transit and snow!

NICE - a CSU/CU rivalry... I'm not from Colorado, so I don't really care for the rivalry (both seem like good schools, depending on what you are trying to study/not study). However, I will share this favorite joke amongst the CU student body - what do a CU and CSU student both have in common? They both got into CSU.

Seriously though Boulder is my all time favorite city in so many ways - the biggest downside is having "too much" fun...although Fort Collins has 2 of my favorite breweries of all time: Odell and New Belgium.

Honestly the only thing I don't want to do is be away from my wife. Just gotta work it out with her if we're going to be happy enough apart for this to be worth it.

Shes been away for around 4 weeks now and I never want to feel this way again, but who knows until then we can work something out so we can be ok. I know she'd be fine actually, I just worry about me =) Miss her way too much.

Yes Blindside, in the UK a college refers to a school offering A-level level qualifications, or trade skills such as carpentry, electrical or plumbing qualifications.

However a college can refer to a school within a university such as Queen's College, Cambridge. But these colleges basically house people studying at the University.

Confusing when in conversation with an American. Heh.

Related - How much $ is on the line if you are good enough to make the racing team? I know it probably varies based on how well you do, but ballpark are we talking <$50k, 50-100k, 100k+ (obviously we aren't talking Jimmy Johnson money)...just enough to eat/sleep?

Not that it really matters, but is a European GT4 cup salary enough to support a young 20-something couple?

If shes really the one and really loves you she will find a way for you to do it. My Girlfriend knows, and shes welcome to come but if she doesn't I'm going either way and shes perfectly ok with that. She knows its all I ever wanted.

Probably enough to live... considering how many pay drivers are in GT3 and up, I wouldn't imagine you're gonna make much more than a regular job if that.
