So I took advantage of iRacing's St. Patrick's sale on iRacing credits and bought 6 tracks plus the Star Mazda and the Riley.

I tried the open wheeler first... Fast, high-pitched, agile like these kind of cars should be. Good car. Fun car.

I did not have an idea of what was coming. I tested the Riley on Spa... My god. From the moment the simulation started and I was in the pits, I knew that I was in for a wild ride. What an engine sound, even when idling. I revved the engine for 15 seconds just for the sheer pleasure of listening to that hellish purr of an engine. First gear and away I went... The cockpit is superb, cozy and tight but with good visibility. Drove a lap and then came the Eau Rouge. What an experience. The car has an amazingly good response to steering inputs and the brakes are out of this world, that thing STOPS.

I think I've found my new series. I'm in love with this beast of a car.

I bought the Riley about 10 months ago when it still had the OTM, man you could power slide that puppy like crazy. With the NTM it is a tad tamer but that car has power in spades, easily my favorite car in iRacing.

Oh God! That cae was so sweet on the OTM!! It still is full of awesome, but I'll wait till next season for it to get an update before racing it again, the low speed grip is just too crazy right now...

I too made a hundred dollars of Iracing purchases because of the weekend deal. I ended up getting the williams FW31, Dallara IndyCar, and the late model monte carlo. Not sure what made me pick those three,

Thanks Jav, I'm having fun with them I only have 2 problems.

1)I wanted to get a lot more experience with heel n toe downshift on something more competitive than the mazda. Unfortunately 3 of my car purchases (dallara, F1, and skippy) are all sequential shifters, this leaves me at an impass when looking over at my 150 dollar thrustmaster TH8RS.

2)I play with correct FOV. What this means in an open wheeler like the indy car is that I cannot see my wheels. So I'm left to think which is worse having an improper FoV, or having absolutely no view of an open wheelers front tires.

If you are really having problems, there are plugins like "Motion Cockpit View" and another one that will help you to look into the corner as you turn so you can see your tire and the apex.

Heel toe is easy, practice in a mx5 cup car or something else that is fairly easy to drive.

Yeah, it is a fun but wild car for this slow pilot! I did some driving at the short Road Atlanta course and I was drenched in sweat after 10 laps! LOL fun car, and it really gives me the feeling of speed!

Have fun and give us more impressions of your experiences!

In my opinion the mx5 is overly easy. Also, to me heel toe is not easy and it has taken me quite a while to get it down. I'd like to be doing it with a faster more advance car, so I'm going to try and put some more effort into the mustang cup.

Also superbikes, it's not that I'm having problems with not seeing my wheels, in fact it seems like I have the funnest, and fastest times in the dallara indycar. It's just I wonder if I should make efforts to move my tv closer so I can increase my FOV and be able to see at the very least the tire walls.

Last night I drove the Star Mazda some more.

It was a good experience, I like how the car feels. One thing came to mind immediately: Even though it's faster, the fact that I also have the Skippy and learned to drive it to the point of not sliding out every lap helped me a lot when driving the Star, which is more forgiving in this regard. Overall I'm happy with my purchase.

Spa and Suzuka are breathtaking in iRacing. Climbing the Eau Rouge feels brutal in this sim.

Yeah Star Mazda, Skippy, and Riley are all great fun. Riley might've been tad more fun pre-OTM. Havent gotten the chance to play with it much since NTM.

It's still fun to drive and perhaps a little easier to control then with the OTM, one thing is certain, you just can't slide it like the OTM could.
