Just looking to try and put together a list of cars at certain PP levels which dramatically outperform anything else at that PP level.

I just tried the latest 650PP seasonal at Madrid using a detuned Jag XJ and got absolutely trounced by the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II by over 10 seconds. Got into second place really easily but was making extremely slow progress in catching the Ford. So, I'd like to ask you all, What's your "ringer" car at the following levels?

400PP
Road Cars
Dome Zero Concept '78
Hommell Berlinette
Honda CRX del Sol - Road Car
Madza MX-5 Roadster NC (newest model)
Mercedes-Benz 190E
Opel speedster
Toyota 86 GT '12

500PP
Road Cars
BMW M3 CSL
BMW Z3 M Coupe "-Road
BMW Z4 M Coupe - Road
Honda S2000
Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary
Mazda Mazda6 5-door ´03
Nissan 370z
Mazda RX-7 FD
RUF RGT

Tuner Cars
Opera Performance S2000
Trial Celica

600PP
Road Cars
Lexus LFA - Road Car
Nissan GTR

Race Models
Honda Mobil 1 NSX
Nissan R35 GTR TC

650PP
Pagani Zonda R

700PP
Race Models
Gran Turismo Formula GT

I'll try and keep this updated with your submissions on a daily basis. Links to the tuning guide you use would be a useful addition too. (Please don't post the actual tuning details in here, as it will take up a lot of space)

Best to post in the following format:
(PP level) - (Full Car Name & Year) - (Race or Road) - (Tuning House)

I have found nothing can touch the Zonda R at 650pp. Depending on the state of your oil, you might not have to de-tune it!

I would recommend checking the GT Seasonals Thread here. I am sure people have answers for you already if not, they will be soon.

400pp:
Honda CRX del Sol - Road Car
Madza MX-5 Roadster NC (newest model)

500pp:
BMW M3 CSL (year don´t know) - Road Car
BMW Z3 M Coupe "-Road
BMW Z4 M Coupe - Road
Trial Celica - Tuner: Trial

600pp
Lexus LFA - Road Car (580-620pp pretty decent)

For the 650pp Seasonal I used the Citroen Racer and it´s only 624pp me think but drives superb.

Ooooh, and for 400pp you can use the Dome-zero concept '78 road car. It is absolutely phenominal for its age.

Keep in mind a low downforce course like Madrid will work best if you sacrifice downforce and weight for added horsepower. I struggled with the Peugeot 908 until I added ballast and removed most of the aerodynamic downforce so I could up the horsepower which gave me inproved acceleration.

Is that a Metro to MG Metro 6R4 conversion going on there?
:lol: thought exactly the same thing:tup:

as for the topic

400pp think i jus found new one in the ocd but cant remember what its called "homo bellend "? or something???
500pp nsx troll
and zonda AARGHH for the rest...

All those people using detune car kinda make me sad (you have the right to do what you want I dont go against that). Beside it's so unrealistic, for a Real driving simulator game it's quite a shame. I really hate that feature.

Detune is realistic, don't forget nascars are detuned for Daytona 500 and some of the other racing cars I read was detuned. Even the racing c6 corvette I think was detuned too.

I love it - it's just like all the real racing series that use various means to restrict power. And just like real life you can take advantage of ballast to actually improve handling, which I did to make the 2J a consistent performer on the B-spec seasonal. We'll see how well that works with the new PP level.

I've actually detuned the Formula GT and used it for a couple seasonals - it's a hoot! So, yeah, there's a ringer for ya!

It's also nice when you've got a car that's only a couple of PP higher than the max.... like the Toyota 86 and the current 400 PP challenge. Without the detune feature I wouldn't have much opportunity to use this car in anything resembling a challenging race.

*edit* nevermind.... it still wasn't challenging, even if its a fun car to drive.

EDIT:

For 650PP
Nissan GT-R ´09, almost fully tuned, 616kw, 641PP
Beat the event (Madrid) with 10-20sec in front of the Ford.

For 500PP
MAZDA Mazda6 5-door ´03
pumps out 280kw (380HP) and weights only around 1157kg. @500PP

For 400PP
VW Beetle 1100 Standard (Type-11) ´49
64kw, 652kg, 373 PP, challenging, but still easy Challenge. Won bei 5 Seconds.

I just made it yesterday and I used:

Rome race Mini Cooper fully equiped and downgraded to match the PP

Tokio race Subaru WXR also fully tuned and downgraded

Madrid race Mercedez Bent SLG fully tuned and downgraded. Took me almost the 5 laps to reach the first place but at the end I did it.

@Rockspeny - I have a lot of love for Metros, particularly the spectacularly badly modified ones, just wish they were in GT5. Nothing could touch an 850 engine rolling on 13 inch biscuits with go-faster stripes of electrical tape!

As for de-tuning, it's totally realistic. Racing series use air intake restrictors all the time, just take a look at the NOMAD Diablo or the McLaren F1 race cars, both were de-tuned from standard. Plus over time all cars lose HP, My Zonda R was 647 pp before I changed the oil and couldn't use it for the races I had just used it in. I used to drive a Ford Capri which regularly de-tuned itself and misfired...:scared:

The Zonda R does seem to punch above it's weight.

I'd like to nominate the Toyota 86 GT '12 for consideration in the 400 PP category. The car seems to perform above its peers.

(PP level) - (Full Car Name & Year) - (Race or Road) - (Tuning House)

400PP: Opel speedster is great and the Hommell Berlinette is fantastic - almost won the latest 500pp race in that also, caught the Shelby on the last corner but it killed me on the straight to the finish.

500PP: Countach Anniversary addition works well.

650PP: Pagani Zonda R will always do it but makes it too easy.

PS: This is my first post BTW - been a spectator for months!

400pp : fully tuned and then detuned honda S2000
450pp: ^same S2000 ^
500pp: Nissan 370z, Mazda RX-7 FD, or S2000. Depends on track (horsepower versus weight versus aerodynamics).
550pp: detuned Ford GT (No Stripe)
600pp: detuned Nissan GTR
650pp: Nissan GTR, Corvette ZR-1

Apologies, and thanks, to all people who have posted replies, the damned DLC couldn't have come along at a worse time for starting new threads!
I will read through everything tomorrow and update the first post accordingly with all your data.

Not sure of the PP but the hyundai tiburon GT1 and the mitsi vr4 station wagon punch well above their weight. I surprised the **** out of a ferrari 458 italia online with both these cars. You have no idea how satisfying it is to beat a ferrari in a family wagon. Honorable mention goes also to the honda oddysey, it's a beast (for the PP) and it's 4wd.

People who have run this event seem to only be mentioning the Ford GT LM as the lead car, was it just me who got the McLaren F1 GTR and Zonda LM?

For JGTC races, the NOMAD Diablo is godly....and you NEVER see it in the fields. I run mine at both 600 and 650PP, depending on the entry requirements.
