On the Madrid race cornering is pretty important, so the 2J comes up the best. Infact, 2J is pretty awesome allround in 650-700PP. Also good in the 690 HP max time trial in the rain (but it's a handful to control on it). Furai is a second IMO, due to it's light weight and excellent handling in corners.

Detuned LMP's are good as well, perhaps a second or so slower than the Furai per lap. The lighter LMP's like the Minolta are good.

Maxed out '09 GT-R V-Spec comes out right below 650 and is awesome on tracks like Nurburgring Nordschleife (almost feels like the car was built for it... Well the V-Spec's were in a manner of speaking). It is a bit heavy in Madrid but the 4WD and excellent power make up for it. I've got 4 '09 V-Spec's setup and all tuned differently. Awesome cars if you remember they're on the obese side compared to racecars.

GTR 35 TC is pretty awesome too, but is dlc only of course.

:lol: thought exactly the same thing:tup:

as for the topic

500pp nsx troll

Racing series use air intake restrictors all the time, just take a look at the NOMAD Diablo or the McLaren F1 race cars, both were de-tuned from standard.

This is true. However, de-tuning in the game involves a completely unrealistic deformation of the power band the restricts horsepower (a buzzword that has minimal bearing aft of the flywheel anyway) while leaving the torque curve intact. Airflow restriction doesn't do this.

Sorry for not having any input regarding the topic at hand, I merely saw the discussion on power limiting and had to butt in as it irks me so.

Fair comment, but there are many ways of restricting the power produced by engines beyond just air restrictions. However things could get horribly complicated in the menus if they tried to implement them in all the game. The power limiter just seems like the easy way of incorporating it into the game, without having to understand the technicalities. Anyhow, I get that the talk of HP annoys you (and I have no idea where the measurement is taken from the cars - at the wheels or crank/flywheel) but the whole idea of performance points is made up and essentially unmeasurable anyhow. That annoys me more.

I think you mean the Hommell Berlinette. ;)

Thanks for the putting me on the floor and making me feel 10 again.

@Rockspeny - I have a lot of love for Metros, particularly the spectacularly badly modified ones, just wish they were in GT5. Nothing could touch an 850 engine rolling on 13 inch biscuits with go-faster stripes of electrical tape!

I'm for having any Metro in the game, the 6R4 in road, rally, and Will Gollop twin-turbo rallycross forms would be a good start, then the group-A turbo version, and finally the Metro turbo one-make racer, with the wheels that disapeared out of sight into the wheel arch and apparantly had 0.5' of lock.

Opera S2000 is untouchable at 500PP

Mobil 1 NSX is hard to beat at 600PP.

At just 500? This car was my grinder in the WCC Race at Tokyo Bay @ 450 PP. It is an absolute thrill to drive.

Ford GT MkIV for anything between 630-650. it can actually outrun cars in the 700pp range with the right tune and a turbo, even that horrid refrigerator gets to kiss your @ss. as long as its a tight twisty track, cars in its range will be blasted to kingdom kome.

I'm doing the race with the GT Spec II right now, added it with the turbo and now it's exactly 650PP. Smoking the race and collecting lots of moneys. 13 million so far. :P

As for 500PP (I think) I stick with my BMW GT-R road car... And I rarely do 400PP so I say.. Dunno
