 I'd say that it'd be easier to skate[board] in Canada, than Georgia.

But the Olympics were in Georgia 1996 :dopey:

I mean, look at all of the trees in Georgia. I mean, sure, if you're in Atlanta, you're fine to skateboard, but, it doesn't look like much of Georgia's paved, either. Some cities in Canada are more densely populated than 99% of America (with New York being the exception.) In the Greater Toronto Area, in Canada, there are 6,000,000 people, living in an area approximately the same size as Tokyo...

I'm sure winter in Canada is much colder than Georgia. Don't you guys get snow? We hardly get snow in Georgia, but it does happen. Also, Google Atlanta. Not much different from your city.

Edit: A lot of Georgia is paved.

 We had approximately, ummm, 0 cm. for most of the winter. In fact, for the past two or three years, we've been able to go out in t-shirts and shorts in the middle of January, on some days. Granted, there are other days, when you feel like you're in Britain, but, it's not too bad.

As for the Toronto/Atlanta thing, they're also very similar cities, I'll admit, but, the point remains, that there are parts of Georgia which aren't paved; pavement's a necessity for skateboarding.

P.S.: "skating" refers to "ice skating" in indoor arenas, in Canada, since the water, (because of global warming, or something) rarely freezes, outside, anymore. "skateboarding" refers to skateboarding, in Canada. :dopey:

GLOBAL WARMING!

In the part of Georgia that I live in, it has become surprisingly more urban over the years. Also there are a variety of skateparks with in driving distance of each other if you can't find a good street spot to go "skateboarding".

I can't imagine skating existing in Canada. Unless there is an indoor skatepark somewhere.

I think race pace will be at least 1:25s if not lower.

I doubt that. Seeing as how we'll be racing eachother more than likely, the pace will be a bit slower. It always seems to be slower when you get to race day than it is when you test.

Ummm, there are like 4 outdoor skate parks, that I know of. I used to take my bike, and "drop in" without rolling the back wheel down the slope. Needless to say, I broke a $2000 bike in about two months' time, and managed to cover the sidewalk in this strange fluid that looked like hydraulic fluid, which, not-surprisingly, came from hydraulic shocks.

After testing early this morning, I think that race pace will start in the mid-1.24 range on the first lap then slow down to around 1.30 by the end of the run. That was me running 9 laps on a tire run. I spun on the 8th lap. All of the testing I have done was with NO TC.

Hmm, on the topic of TC:

GT shouldn't be using any.

DP... Maybe a limit of 3 should be implemented? Of course, using none is better, but some DS3 drivers can't do it.

It really doesn't matter. I just think using TC takes away from the enjoyment of driving the car. Not to mention it gives you an advantage in tire wear. It actually slows me down. I have never used it except when I had the ds3. Some tracks are nightmares without it using the ds3. Like Le Mans or Nurb Nord.

It's hard to modulate the throttle with the DS3 in the way a wheel with pedals can do. I never mess with it, I can drive with it or without it. Tuning the lsd can help with that, and extending the gearing. But it's still not easy, not if you're used to using the L2 R2 combo. Some people use the analog sticks, I don't.

When I used the ds3, I used the x and square buttons that came default. I could modulate the throttle that way as well. It took practice, but I could do it. It is no doubts easier to use a wheel.

Since I'll most likely miss this race, and the next one too, I'm giving up my seat.

No worries, two races isn't going to kill ya, I'm missing like 4.... But whatever floats your boat!

I said it's hard to modulate the throttle with the DS3 in the way a wheel with pedals can do. Not that you can't do it. If that's what you're getting at.

It is certainly easier with a wheel and pedal. That was given. I know that 👍

Doesn't matter, though. It's still possible to use throttle control. Throttle control is quite a lot. In fact, if you're autocrossing, in a Hyundai Accent, and you want to cut 10 seconds off of your time, stop driving like an idiot, and apply the throttle more consistently and smoothly. It worked for me.

My Aussie mate has a DS3 and has never moaned about lack of throttle control and he's allways driving his Falcon V8Supercar @658bhp and on RH . (He uses R2, L2)

Must say when I played GT5P and other racing games before I got my DFGT I didn't find it a problem either lol.

What year Hyundai Accent and what tires do you use?

So update for tomorrow's race:

1. Race will be at Indy Road Course
2. 65 Laps (+1, so 66)
3. Cnd01 will be the "Boss"
