What should the best tire we use for Season 3 be?

Tire wear will be an issue. Weather will probably play a factor too.

:scared:

I haven't really had much time in the car in the rain.

Storm, Le Mans and Tokyo have entirely different corners; with entirely different tire wear.

Dont worry bout the caution cnd. I had to leave anyway.

Storm was something else on his tires. Did I read it right? You were able to come up with the win? Good thing your around to keep the team above water.

Its ok Mel, I haven't tried the rain yet either, I am also aware of the difference in corners.

I have this feeling that I won't be running the same pace as the likes of Mazda or Camaro. If I can tweak the tyres a little more, then there's a chance there for something...

FH, yeah I did win, it took a lot of strategy and a little luck (the caution) to do it though.

Two medium stints after my 1st stint put me a few seconds ahead of Mel, then the caution pushed the field together again, so I got back to Paul who was miles ahead. Paul and Mel got away but I managed to catch them, then Paul somehow got it wrong somewhere after the restart and on the final stint I took Softs and made them last. I overtook Mel, who opted mediums for his last stint, with a lap to go before the timer started. It was a case of break away and run safe til the end.

I loved my new setup that I thought of DURING qualifying. Made everything much easier.

Throttle control in the rain is also key. It's anyone's race if it rains.

:scared: :ouch: I still feel like I'm going to be beaten miserably if it rains. I'm always beaten, miserably, if it rains, because I like to set my cars up with really weird tuning setups.

Oh and another key factor in rain races: drivetrain.

AWD! 👍

It did nothing for me, last season. Be warned, you need a 50/50 torque distribution in the wet, but a 30/70 in the dry. Therefore, you're going to have to compromise, OR set up your DFGT (??) to change it, in the case of rain. I only won, last season, in the dry; the Audi sucked in the rain.

Easy for me, the DFGT can change torque distribution mid-race. Aaand I'm being cocky again. Sorry 👎

Well counting in total of how many rain races I've done with my DFGT: 1.

I'll have the least amounts of experience in that race.

Nothing wrong with practicing. Just make sure that you can switch the diff around, if need be.

The Audi's fast, but, tire wear's an issue. If you sort that out, or it rains, it's no longer a problem, and you guys (you and tbw) will be competitive.

Try taking your current tire life, and balancing the fronts/rears, and then try to stay out 1 more lap. After that, you'll be on par with my Mazda, which is still a lap worse than Storm-savethetires-pacer17

Pre-season the Audi was the best on tires... maybe the extra power caused the tires to degrade faster? 💡

Not necessarily. The other teams have since sorted out better tunes. My Mazda's tune is absolutely stunningly awesome right now. I don't think there's a way to get better tire life out of it. Your Audi's tune might be a bit out-dated.

Check out my old tune, as a reference.

While I could do the V10 as well, I think most of the settings are transferable.

Just try it out, with Setup Sheet C. If it rains, move the torque forward.

Hi guys!

I made a video out of the footage I got from the last race at Tokyo, it should be up either today or tomorrow. I commentated over it earlier, and after watching it, I messed up some things :P I was super awkward in the beginning.... And screwed up some names and cars...

So expect a video soon!

Awesome :sly: I am really looking forward to seeing the GT battle. Ant and I had an epic one for about 2 or 3 laps their at the end.

DP does seem like its more fun. I dont feel like I belong there yet though. I think of it as like the next grade. I cant go on until I pass this one.

Ginx on GH for post count.

I honestly don't feel like I belong in DP right now. I'm thinking about going to GT next season.

It seems like your always there in the beginning. Does the car get worse as the race goes on?

If your like me, my biggest issue is concentration. During the middle of the race my mind seems to wonder. I start to think about random things. I start to miss braking points and my race line is way off. I have to tell myself to breath and re focus. But thats only if I am by myself racing.

Might explain the difference between the "I love my Mazda" & "I hate my Mazda" championships. ITCC is going gloriously, but this...

I am having a very hard time controlling the Sauber in the wet. The car is very sluggish in the wet. It feels like the chassis isn't built for this much weight. On the other hand, the car feels very smooth in the dry. I am in the consistent 3.42 second range easily. I can get a 3.41 if I don't have any mistakes. La Sarthe is very long and difficult. :dopey:
