The RX-7 seasonal event.

I already golded it!running by 1.00-1.05 you should do it.I advice to use the 3th gear in the corner not the 2th like in the video above(bad driving lines!)

I did this today and found it quite easy (finished 3 secs over the Skyline GTR)

IMO it helped doing the Tsukuba 4 hour endurance the day before, knowing what lines to take etc

I ran laps of 1:00.xxx and a 59.xx.xxx. The most important thing i found was to brake early and then power on. Suspension tweaks also help, I lowered it a great deal and changed the front camber to help it turn more readily.

If you can run 1-minute dead laps, you will have no trouble 💡

thanks it helped me alot.. I was 7th with my tuning, after reading all this 1st!! musch aprishiated!! Merry Christmas everyone! ;)

EDIT: PS. my lap times - 1:00.xxx, 1:01:xxx and 0:59:xxx worked just fine, overtaked that purple skyline in 9 lap of 10.

Yeah I finally managed this one.:sly:
Indeed, it is necessary to use every piece of the track.

Is there a video without the skid recovery force, I'd like to see it? Becasue alright so I managed to win by a long margin with SRF turned on(I passed the skyline by the end of lap 9), but without it I am nowhere near that skyline in the front. I went as far as buying another RX7 bathurst instead my Type RS, but I was a bit slower, tuned almost the same way.

My gripe is that with SRF(Skid Recovery Force) I can really see the car grips much better(especially in the last long turn before finish) and not nearly as much oversteer, but at the same time I feel like playing a less realistic game and that I am somehow an incompetent driver. Also is it just my game that the skyline is sooo damn ahead of all the other cars? I sincerely cannot see it possible to win without Skid Recovery since the fastest I got was place 7 and that skyline was some good seconds ahead the others. This was my biggest WTF moment in a videogame.

With skid recovery on it feels like auto pilot mode. I beat the Focus by over 10 seconds without even going trying. More like skid eraser than recovery.

for some reason im still having prob with this one. I golded the cooper S, fiat 500 and GTR race, but I can't get my rx7 to turn, must be my suspension setup.
My times are always in the 1:03 range.
Any recommendations?

i catch up the skyline in the 9th lap, drove 58's lap times....

you must drive the race in one rythm... this is the only one tip i can give you..

To all you people that are saying it is easy, you must be using skid recovery force. I watched the video on the first page, and there is no way that was without it on. You can't drive sideways through every corner and still be going so quick, you can't drive that badly and gold it without SRF.

Yeah it IS on in that vid. This is a very hard challenge. I think it is possible, but it is going to take some driving that I am not quite up for at the moment. Time for a coffee run.

its without SRF on, i use a wheel so that could be the difference.

Wow that is an awesome run then. I cant get anywhere near the levels of grip you have. Every corner is a drift session.

I finally broke down and turned on the SRF as I just couldn't tune out the oversteer. I managed to take down the Skyline in the last set of "S's" while he was caught up behind the 300ZX before the final hairpin on lap 10(made a few wide corners so not my cleanest race either)But managed it on my 2nd attempt easily with the SRF on.

Not proud to have had to use SRF but had I been able to tune out the bad oversteer I prolly wouldn't have used it.

I just had a quick run, managed to get my times down quite a lot once I realised that you can run wide out of the final turn. Was there always that much run off? Now I just have to string 10 good laps together.

- Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02
- Stage 3 weight Reduction/windows/carbon hood (1051Kg)
- Rigidity Improvement
- Added all aero parts (set to 0/28)
- Fully custom transmission (set to 193mph)
- Sports Intake Manifold + Racing Air Filter
- Sports ECU + Stage 2 Engine Tuning (394 HP)
- Catalytic converter + Titanium Semi-racing exhaust
- Fully custom Suspension (Ride Height -20/-20, Springs 16.0/6.3, Dampers 10/5, 10/5, ARB 4/4, camber 2.0/2.0, toe 0/0)
- Twin clutch plates + Carbon propeller shaft + Semi-racing flywheel
- Brakes set to 8/9
- Tyres were Sports Hard as standard
- ABS 1, TC 0, SRF off, ASM off, Driving line off

I was struggling to get in the top three until I followed the above. Came second after the first attempt, then turned SRF on and won easily. Lap times came down from 1.02.xxx to 0.59.xxx

posting up a youtube vid now since alot of people are struggling with this one. i found running 102s wasn't good enough so did a few tunes and started doing constant 59s and 1min laps and it was a breeze.

will edit this post and link to vid once its done.

for now here are the settings i used thanks to Synwraith

video:

This was epic !!! THANKS!! I managed a 59.5 :) Thanks again!

That setup was the key!!!! Wow what a differance!! Just golded the event! Thanks!

Golded it first try after some tuning adjustments. The main things were to lower the top speed of the tranny waaaay down (127, I think), maximize toe out (-1/-1) for quick turn-in, and turn off ASM.

Thanks a lot!!! It s pretty aggressive but perfectly works with my driving style.

Finaly did it..One of the hardest events yet,at least if you playing with DS3..Probably gonna get some wheel after NY

This event was a ton of fun more me as the car is a blast to drive. I did all the major mods and the only tuning adjustments i made were to change the front camber to 1.0, and increase the front brake bias to about 9. That was all it took for me to be able to tame the beast. The big key is to avoid as much wheel spin as possible, as it really slows you down. Dam, is it ever fun and easy to make big, controlled drifts with this car haha.

I was only able to get second with the ds3 but I was only 1 second behind first, then I gave in and used the SRF, to win by 6 seconds.:guilty:

I cant wait to give this a go soon as I get home. I ran the event with my stock RX-7 that I won from one of the A spec events, (not sure witch one it is) I'm gona do a full weight reduction and full suspension. Are we able to use any tires we want? Is there an HP limit?

Now that I've come across a free, willing couple hundred bucks, I shall. :dopey:

A wheel won't necessarily fix your problem. Especially if you have never driven with one and not a master with a H-shifter (racing-wise). I am still several times better with the controller as a automatic than my wheel. I have been using the wheel since this past summer. It's alot of fun and adds to the experience but it can backfire on you here and there if you don't perfect your driving skills.

After many hours of driving, i golded it :)
I used the RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02 with the following setup:
Stage 3 weight Reduction/windows/carbon hood (1051Kg)
- Rigidity Improvement
- Added all aero parts (set to 0/28)
- Fully custom transmission (set to 280km/h)
- Sports Intake Manifold + Racing Air Filter
- Sports ECU + Stage 2 Engine Tuning (399 CV)
- Catalytic converter + Titanium Semi-racing exhaust
- Fully custom Suspension (Ride Height -20/-20, Springs 16.0/6.3, Dampers 10/5, 10/5, ARB 4/4, camber 2.0/2.0, toe -1.0/-1.0)
- Twin clutch plates + Carbon propeller shaft + Semi-racing flywheel + LSD
- Brakes set to 8/9
- Tyres were Sports Hard as standard
- ABS 1, TC 0, SRF on, ASM off, Driving line off

It's a setup that uses Synwraith's and Troux's setups

I liked it, hopefully it will be usefull to you
Good Luck :sly:

Thought I would add my video of my first place run and my settings.

I used Synwraith's setup but added negative toe and greatly brought down the top speed in the tranny:

- Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02
- Stage 3 weight Reduction/windows/carbon hood (1051Kg)
- Rigidity Improvement
- Added all aero parts (set to 0/28)
- Fully custom transmission (set to 137mph)
- Sports Intake Manifold + Racing Air Filter
- Sports ECU + Stage 2 Engine Tuning (394 HP)
- Catalytic converter + Titanium Semi-racing exhaust
- Fully custom Suspension (Ride Height -20/-20, Springs 16.0/6.3, Dampers 10/5, 10/5, ARB 4/4, camber 2.0/2.0, toe -.10/-.10)
- Twin clutch plates + Carbon propeller shaft + Semi-racing flywheel
- Brakes set to 8/9
- Tires were Sports Hard

As far as aids go:

- ABS 1
- TCS 1
- SRF off
- ASM off
- Driving line on

I overtook 1st on the last corner of the last lap, so it was a fun close race.

My lap times were all 1.00.XX until the final 2 where I pulled 59.xx laps.

This was first time on this track at all so I def have room for improvement. I turned on TCS and set it to 1, because I was just having an insane time keeping this car straight.

In-between passes is sped up in the video, and the last 2 laps are full real time.

Skid force recovery is worth in the area of 1.5-2 seconds, anybody having trouble with this should have it on, you need to be looking at lapping in the 59s area, so if you're driving with it off you need a very good setup and you need to drive very cleanly and very fast, i wouldnt bother with traction control personally as the car really doesnt have traction issues at this power.

Also... dont drive with the driving line on, the driving line depends on the car you're driving, if you spend time trying to follow it then you're just asking to go slower.
