Is Tornado an idiot for buying a known hole to throw burning money into?

It's not the saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

The esses are incredible the first time you drive it in person. Loved it when I drove last summer.

Your newish wheels need to be darker.

Still a good looking car though. Love the red.

Nice

I'd like a Corsa system for my dad's Bonneville GXP, but he's considering getting rid of it.

Should be about 15-20, according to some before and after runs from people I've seen who bought them. One guy did two runs of each and it checked out at 16 each time. Way up in the rpm, of course, but it is there. And everything after the midpipe was a complete disaster on the stock setup, so I believe it.

Should I wait for your "before and after" videos?

I was wondering who this Seville thread belonged to, with that name change I wasn't aware that it was still your Seville thread. This is what I get for not checking the original thread creator's name first... (laughs)

But with all due honesty, these cars, these mid-to-high grade (and size) American sedans, they're a personal guilty pleasure of mine. Things like Oldsmobile Auroras, Eagle Visions, you know the ones. And if they have a Northstar underneath their bonnet, their stock rises dramatically. Your STS ticks all the right boxes, and would you look at that red! Yes, the brain will still say "Should've bought that Lexus", but the heart will be happy with that value-for-Money you got out of the Seville.

Also, in line with the latest changes, how much has engine sound changed with that new exhaust system? The power gain is nifty, but the real elephant in the room is that sound improvement (or lackthereof)...

Let's say it doesn't suite the car at all...

In a really good way.

It seems that you have some previous experience with that system. So it changes the car's character to something which defies its very purpose, huh?

Well, the additional grunt (both in power and sound) are more than worth it, from what you are saying...

The sound is the big difference. Not gonna feel much on the butt dyno.

Alright, fair enough. You don't exactly buy a Seville for the seat-of-your-pants perfomance anyways, you buy it to make your butt feel more comfortable with that carpet-like handling smoothness. Of course, having a more meaty engine sound can definitely widen the grin behind the steering wheel, regardless of what the butt dyno says...

Absolutely. I've never driven a Seville or STS, but my dad's Bonneville GXP has a differently tuned Northstar, similar to the SLS which is down on power but supposed to give good midrange torque plus shorter 3.70 axle ration and the engine really needs to be revved out to make the car feel anything other than surprisingly slow. More sound would certainly help it feel more exciting.

So in essence, a truly luxury-oriented engine setup, not entirely surprising to hear/read about that. After all, knowing that old Caddy joke about old people, Florida and car ownership, most owners will easily accept the silent and comfortable feel of the STS/Boneville's Northstar setup. But if you are a bit more, let's say, enthusiastic about cars, a better soundtrack can at least spice the driving experience up while maintaing the "magical carpet on clouds" feel.

Exactly. The engine (granted it's the only quad cam V8 I've ever driven) is exceptionally smooth in it's character.
