Yep, both thoes quotes are correct (I can't believe I didn't notice that when I re-read it :odd:, must have been a longer day at work that I thought lol), but so is the fact that he said the car is running with restrictors which limit the power to 880, maybe he's talking about it as a combination of thoes cams and the restrictors, maybe I'm losing my mind, (refer back to the long day at work comment). As I said, I'll have a look into it and ask him theres little point in debating it when we can just ask.

Good point, as its not 100% clear on the speed12 site or the EVO article, just baseing my stuff on how I've read it and the fact that the British GT Speed 12's ran with approx 700bhp.

Lets see what the man who should know says.

It seems you were right, heres the answer I got.

"Hi, thanks for the question. The 880 bhp is a combination of "soft" cams without restrictors. The "lumpy" cams were designed to cope with the FIA restrictors the race cars had to run with. If you use the race cams without the restrictors it will produce ~960 bhp.

The excitement I have at the moment is that the engine it'll finally be delivered with should be producing >880 bhp even on the soft cams - apparently it has a very special bottom end with very special heads. Watch out!! "

I'm looking forward to seeing the work on the Speed 12 in action, hopefully it will be on TV.

Is there any chance of the Speed 12 being at the Festival Of Speed this year?
