The Suzuka Unlimited 1'50.000 Challenge

GTP_MrKipling43
To be held on the Free Run mode of the Suzuka 650PP Online race.

Any cars except the F1 and Citroen GT are allowed and Quick Tune is free.

The scoring system will be as follows:

You will receive points for your lap time according to how close you can get to 1'50.000 for a hot lap around the Suzuka circuit in any car (bar the F1), on any tyres and with any tune you like.

If you clock a 1'56.325 you will receive 6,325 points, if it's a 1'55.290 then you will receive 5,290 points, and so on and so forth. If you manage to go beneath 1,50.000 you will receive a negative score according to how many seconds you go below the time. If you get a 1'49.500 you will receive -500 points.

Obviously, person with the least points wins! ;)

Anyone fancy it? I've just done a few laps in the 'Vette and you top 170mph into the Spoon Curve braking area. It's well quick.

Deadline for entries is January 26 - since that gives you this weekend and two more.

i love the idea, and will give it a shot when i can find some time. i know im not the only one that sucks at tuning- maybe some of the pros will come up with a car or two for this challenge. :)

Sounds Interesting

Let me get this right, Any car (except the f1), and there is no PP limit.

If this is the case I will give it a go.

I'll give it a go
just a suggestion about points, if the goal is 1'50.000 and your lap time is 1'53.456, your points = seconds, yes? instead of accumulating 53 456pts maybe just 3 456pts, since you're time is 3.456 seconds slower...
I'm thinking if you continue this challenge on other tracks and say the goal is 2'08.000 and your time is 2'14.321, by your current pts system you would accumulate 14 321pts yes? although the time is 6.321secs slower than the goal...that = less pts accumulated but farther off the goal time than 1'50.000 / 1'53.456

does that^^^ make sense to anyone else? lol

No PP limits?? My kind of thing LOL! Ill be trying it later on after work:) Lets see with my "slow" sixaxis can do

1:55 man, but it was a mess. not used to driving fast cars, been too long since suzuka 750, fuji 800, etc. i bet some people will be in the 40s very soon!

1'48.173 with the car I expected would have a huge advantage in this challenge. :sly:

Nice!👍
I just tried it with the Z06, and managed a 1'54.775 and that was with a few bobbles...and sixaxis ...I know a few others on here that I'm sure would be in the 1'40's as well, of the top are holl01 & mad94d those two are a insane  ...something about their diet and weat-bix ;) :sly:

Tnx anyway Vaxen, but i figured out by myself while you were replying:) 943PP or something like that LOL and can do 1.47.556... not the funniest car to drive but it does the trick LOL. And like F1 should be out of this one to. Quite unfair i would say:crazy:

I've never really driven the Citroen GT, so I never realised that it would have such a huge advantage - should we ban that car too? There's no point really if one car dominates, don't you think?

What do we reckon? Quick straw poll?

Flyin' STi, you're absolutely right - I've corrected the original post.

Glad you're all enjoying it!

I don't know if the Citroen should be banned or not, that's up to others I think.

The Citroen GT will go quicker than the time I posted. I didn't mess around with the settings much. Because of the auto gearbox, it's difficult to counter the understeer out of T2, Degner 2, hairpin, and Spoon.
Get that licked and it could be 2 or 3 seconds quicker.
But as I said, it's not the most rewarding drive out there, so feel free to ban it (please).

I never even considered the Citreon GT as an option as I have erased that hideous thing from my mind. It is an awful thing to drive.

Big +1 from me on that one! I might as well get rid of it from my garage. And I would but I'm keeping as many pricey cars as I can to maximise the money I can carry over to GT5 when it comes out!

Read the opening post on this threat carefully, people.

done about 5 laps.. low 1'52"s. 1'51"s will come easy.. sub 1'50"s not so easy for me. But sure as eggs there'll be a good 10 drivers or more sub 1'50. Depending on the turnout of course.
Nice challenge 👍

Nice Idea MrKipling. 👍

I just had a few laps in the Tuned Vette, My best lap so far is 1'51.648. I will work on the car a little more tomorrow and see if I can break into the 50's.

Hah hah hah hah, I'm going to get utterly destroyed at my own challenge!

I've got a lot of work to do while the O/H is at the gym! lol.
