I was actually thinking of planning an anniversary post of sorts, but there's nothing much I feel like saying other than how surprised I am at how this thread and the fandom have just grown way beyond what I was expecting. The fact that this thread is still going stronger than ever after a year is pretty astounding.


Also, because of this thread's existence, I most likely would never have met any of you guys. I am extremely grateful that I did though, so let me just say that you guys are awesome. Here's to another 365 days of pony!

Also, yeah, I was too tired to put together thoughts on the 1 year anniversary thing last night. So I'll try and get it all down before work. Because of this thread I feel like my life actually took more of a positive turn than I could have hoped for. Honestly the day I started into this thread I couldn't have imagined it'd cause such a profound and wholly positive change in the way I live my life. I mean, since starting into this thread I've gone from an emotionally numb recluse to a touchy feely sentimental guy. The kind of touchy feely sentimental guy who ends up starting hour long conversations with friends; who help me feel perfectly OK with the fact I'm truly in love with a purple unicorn. And now that I've explained that to a certain few people, I feel fine saying it here.



So what I'm trying to say is, you guys are all awesome and I probably would have chickened out of the whole Coast Guard(On account of being an emotionally numb recluse) thing by now if it weren't for this thread introducing me to ponies and all of you guys.


And even though Wiegert already posted it:

Also, I swear this thread and the fandom on which it's based has made us better people overall. Which is why I'm extremely grateful I found out about this program and decided to take a closer look at it rather than just dismiss altogether. That was definitely the best decision I made in 2011, without a shadow of a doubt.

And even though he hasn't been here for more than 9 months now, I have to thank MercilessOne, the guy who started it all on GTPlanet. I also want to thank Toronado for taking over the leadership of this thread in his absence, and doing a great job of doing so (except for that whole Garfield and Friends thing he did last August, that was baaaaad).



All joking aside, I hope the next year will be just as great as the one that's just past, for all of you.
