That is a FM problem , it happened in FM3 too. Doesn't happen in any other game. It's not the G25 pedals. I've raced with MS pedals, G25 pedals and Clubsport pedals.

How do the G25 pedals compare to clubsports in your mind?

At one point I was very interested in buying the CSP's but then I ended up inverting the good ol' G25 ones and have been very happy with them since. It's mostly the load cell tech that interests me as that potentiometer-brake isn't very lifelike.

There's of course those load-cell add-ons for G25 pedals, perfect pedals etc. so I'm not quite sure where to go with my setup. Also the future Clubsport Handbrake interests me, and if that'll only work with the CSP's, I think that's the way to go, as I'll be doing most of my driving on consoles (rules out standalone devices).

I'm still undecided guys... I'm like 99% deadset on the CSR wheel but can't decide between the CSR Elite pedals or the CSP... I want to pull the trigger this week as an early xmas present to myself :P

I went with the CSPs due to the magnetic sensor on the gas & clutch. I've had too many flight sim rudder pedals crap out due to the pots. They're usually easy enough to change, but paying an extra $50 so I never have to was worth it to me.

I have a gt2 , 2 problems. 1, it sounds like there is a mouse traped inside the wheel. 2, there was a clicking sound which i fixed by tightening some screws inside the wheel showing the shoddy chinese build quality

Honestly, they don't. The G25 pedals are great, but the Clubsports are simply heaven and fully adjustable. Can drive R1 with no assists using them.
ISR said in their review that using them was like "cheating". If you look around the sim community the Clubsport pedals are the one thing you can't find people finding something to complain about.

Well, other than the load cell reliability being somewhat questionable, and the resulting $15 shipping charge for a $15 part from Fanatec.

Also, be careful with the wires to the PCB whenever you're taking the thing apart. Don't put any undue stress on them.

Besides that, yeah, they're pretty universally loved. :)

Yeah, I've noticed that, everyone seems to love them! And I believe them, just by looking at the thing.

The thing is, in my case, I don't really need the adjustability as the G25 pedals are mounted separately to my rig -> moving them around is easy. I'm pretty decent with my hands so modding them further wouldn't be a problem. I'm just trying to figure out what would be the smartest move.

Something like this: http://www.apelectrix.com/index.html as told to me by Zoom!Zoom! on Gtplanet, or then the CSP's.

Of course buying the CSP's would release the currently used G25 pedals, so I'd have two fully functioning wheels, but...! Wish I had more room in my house to build a full rig, would be so much easier to justify throwing cash at it! :dopey:

That`s not what I`m talking about. Every product on the market has a failure rate. I`m talking about the product design and implementation.

I say CSP. Mine arrived the other day and they are super brilliant! The free tuning kit is also another reason to go for them as it represents even better value.

I just had a thing in the back of my mind that made me think I would regret the CSR-E pedals eventually.

Overlooked this thread, anyway a few things I have done or noticed with my CSR wheel-

- I used Co-ban (black in color) to wrap my wheel top area (shiny black). It sticks to itself and feels like a soft rubber. So far with a few hours racing it has held up and the nice thing about it is it won't leave a residue from the glue, like other alternatives I saw. Also it is cheap and easy to apply, very flexible.
.

I thought about using handlebar tape (used on road bikes) but I was concerned with sticky residue. After a little while I just got used to the plastic.

I have a couple questions to all that own a Fanatec since I REALLY wanting to buy one and I have a little tax money in my pocket next week....

1=I know they were on back order a few months ago....What is the turn around on these wheels for me here in the US??
2=What wheel/pedal setup is suggested??.....I was looking at the Elite wheel with Clubsport pedals and shifter??
3= With shipping and everything how much will this ^^^setup cost me to my door?? (my work internet has Fanatec website blocked)

The Elite wheel by itself is $540. The CS pedals are, I believe not available at the moment, not sure if they are discontinued or out of stock? If you got the Elite pedals and wheel, you are looking at around $690 before taxes and shipping. If i remember right, my shipping was around $30 or so. I think only California pays a tax, not sure 100%.

If you decide to go with a Fanatec wheel, any model, I suggest also investing in a decent cockpit, as this will both further the immersion of racing and provide a good mounting for the Force Feedback.

With the Elite Wheel, Elite Pedals and CSR shifter set, about $785

Im sorry...I didnt mean to type "Elite"....I was wanting the one below it..cant remember the model

Fanatec currently has a deal, the CSR wheel with standard CSR pedals (no LoadCell) for $299, with shipping and shifter you are looking at $390-400 total. Shipping for me took about a week (7 days, no weekends).

If you wanted the Elite pedals (with a loadcell) they run $150, so CSR wheel- $250 and Elite pedals- $150, plus shifter-$60, $460+30 shipping- $500.

UPDATE- When I was looking at the Fanatec website, looks like the CSR wheel is currently not available? Do not no any info on this!

Thats the setup I was wanting.....CSR Wheel and Elite Pedals.....I know when I was looking at these a few months back they were on back order and people were waiting for them for months...I hope its not happening again

I recently bought a CSR wheel, CSR elite pedals, and shifters used. Look on craigslist. I had to drive a few hours to get it, but it was worth it.

Yeah, not sure. Best thing to do is keep checking the website daily, or maybe soon there will be news from Fanatec and the situation on the CSR wheels.

That is the setup I have and I am very happy with it. Decent shifter, good wheel and outstanding pedals. Once you get yours, or should I say IF you get yours , you will enjoy it.

Ok....Finaly got home from work and was able to look at the Fanatec site and see where the CSR wheels are not offered but see the GT2 wheel is avalable....Whats the difference in the two??....Is the GT2 wheel a good setup??

Also it looks like everything is sold separatly...on the setup...Is there anything that could be recomended what to but and NOT buy??...Im assuming a must is=
Wheel
Shifter (Elite)
Pedals (Elite)
Paddle shifters???
LoadCell kit????

The GT2 and CSR wheels are identical when it comes to ''guts'' (motors). Only difference is the buttons, wheel material and looks. Here is a comparison chart http://www.fanatec.de/html/pw_overview.htm.

Paddle shifters are included on the wheels, the ones that are listed in ''recommended accessories'' are just an upgrade to carbon fiber, not needed.

If I were you I would order a loadcell or two only because the shipping is more than the loadcell itself, LOL. I have one as a back up in case the current one fails, there really isn't a timeframe as to when one will fail, probably depends on how often you play and how your braking style is, average VS my wifes style where it seems she sees a child run across the road every time she brakes.

Since you are budgeted for either the CSR or GT2, it really just comes down to appearance. As I should ONLY speak of the CSR, as this is the one I have, it seems to me that the only advantage the CSR wheel may have is the button layout. Looks easier to utilize the buttons, but that is minimal as driving is what we want the wheels for anyway, so no real harm there. Of course that is just my opinion from using the CSR and seeing the GT2, may not even be an issue if a GT2 user with more experience can chime in.

Thanx...gonna keep a eye on the website the next couple of days to see if the CSR wheel comes back up. I do like the looks of the wheel vs the GT2....Thanx for the tips...Ill get a load cell when I order and NOT carbon fiber shifters..How about this "shifter adapter thing"...Is this needed??...I am planning on getting the Remmsport wheel stand when I order

Ok.....I checked the website again and they have a CSR Bundle XL....looked at it pretty hard...but it doesnt have the Elite shifter that I wanted....I didnt convert it to US money but it seemed like a pretty good deal......Got some off days coming up so I might have a drink and sit infornt of the computer until I order it or pass out..=)

Make sure you are looking on the United States side, not sure if it is possible to order from overseas?

This one is the whole package, CSR wheel, CSR Elite pedals and CSR shifter for $360, this is a good deal, I would jump on it. http://www.fanatec.de/webshop/new_u...d=112&osCsid=dc9a9bef3eb4e23cdaa178ede2825938

I paid-
$250-CSR wheel
$150- CSE Elite pedals
$60- CSR Shifter set

Totaling $460 plus shipping, so about $500.

At work now and cant go to the Fanatec site but Ill check it out tomorroo at the house...Is that link ($360) with shipping to US??

The wheels etc, I believe are already stateside, they have a shop out in Cali. Shipping will probably add another $30 or so, but don't quote me, just an average. Once payment is made, they will send you updates via shipping company to your email to keep you updated with delivery. I'd guess if you order it tomorrow, you'd have it by early next week.

Also if you do buy one, when you get to the payment portion, Paypal is NOT required, just ''continue'' until an option for Credit Card is offered. IF YOU DO NOT USE PAYPAL! Otherwise follow instructions as they appear.

Reason I bring this up is because I thought Paypal was the only option and do not have an account with them, so I actually didn't buy one until about 3 weeks after I initially wanted to get it......blah blah I'm rambling now but anyway hope you get a wheel, have fun.

Thanx for all the Help dude......Im going to order one in the next couple of days..Have ALOT of things going on right now plus Valentines Day (such crap)..Not a huge Paypall fan and rather use my Debit Card....Was going to order a stand for it at the same time so there is no telling when EVERYTHING gets here....I quit smoking this week so Im giving myself a gift

I just ordered mine! Since I live in Los Angeles will I get my wheel quickly since their shop is in California?
