Whats does everyone think about the latest, the bigest, and the most anticipated Update the GT series has seen? Does everyone like the New Interior views? some look great ( Caterham Seven ). The New online restrictions sound great as well, this thread is not an epic rage and crying thread.. we dont care how "dissapionted" you are, we want to hear the positives!! .. so as I was saying, What is your verdict? :dunce:

It's ok. My biggest gripe is that there's no new a-spec events.

Sadly, it's not (as I hoped) anywhere near enough to distract me from FM4.

I'm sad that A-Spec didn't get the AI upgrade, but i'm yet to try out the arcade aggressive AI, look forward to that!

I think a rather understated thing is the track loading times. Cars do not load until you press 'race'. Which is good if you want to enter/exit events to get new used cars!

The standard interior view is not bad , I can see the steringwheel and hands turn. I love driving my GT 350 now :) I noticed that the AI overtakes and blocks in the Seasonal Events! Just did 2 rounds in the classic musclecar and the AI behaves better.

I like all the features but the new interiors, they are just pointless to me.

Also the forward reqind buttons,i thought we would be able to adjust them in real time(slowly inch forward or back, but it seems to be set on checkpoint systems. ANNOYING

In love with the update.
Was going to buy Forza4 today but driving the Nurburgring with my choice of time of day and setting it to no weather, is pretty much the perfect driving experience.
I'm also in love with the standard cockpit which I initially though might look stupid, but it does the job of making you feel like you are in the car perfectly. Now it seems I need to collect all my favorite standard cars aswell

+1:tup:

I'm at work and haven't yet downloaded the update. But at least on paper, I'm very pleased.

Over the last 4~5 months, I kind of moved away from GT5 and onto PC sims like GTR or iRacing. And I really liked the more dedicated, hard-core nature of those simulations. So for me personally, this update seems to have delivered many of the things I was asking for:

~ A revised scale for the over-blown slipstream. BIG 👍
~ A tweak to the FFB to make it a bit more realistic
~ Full support for the G27
~ Tweaks to the physics model. GT5 felt great compared to other PS3 games. But it was decidedly lacking compared to hard-core PC sims.
~ FFWD/RRWD for replays. I used to put online events together where we'd run races up to 2 hours. Scanning the replay for 90 minutes to review an incident wasn't fun.

And now we know some more dedicated racing cars and Spa are coming. I really want to get a feel for the physics tweaks and compare it back to back. But looking at the bullet list, for me personally, they're right on target with what I wanted.

i liked the new update quite alot if you ask me, the topless cars interiors are quite great really.. the G27 full Support is a bonus, the new cars look great, and i cant wait for the DLCs

I like the the upgrade to the Arcade AI, I've had some fun Super GT races today.
As for the patch I like the effort with the Standard views but so far on my setup I don't like looking at the grainy pixely cockpit surrounds too much, but that the Rev counter etc is set to the dial kinda irks me. I really hope for some customization regarding the on screen display in the future.

I was contemplating buying a wheel for my 360 and getting Forza 4, but playing recently with all aids off and now giving me weather and time control on my favourite tracks I realized that it would be a waste of time, Gran Turismo is just fine.

It's 👍👍 from me.

Don't forget that Spec II also prepares GT5 for the upcoming DLC starting on the 18th, so who knows what other goodies (eg SPA) PD have lined up for us.

Three words: A Mae Zing.
I was on my toes all day at work waiting for the chance to play, especially after reading all the great reviews.

So when I finally got home I hopped into my favorite car, the Caterham fireblade. It was unreal. My DS3 felt like it had increased its sensitivity by 3 fold. Corner entry was so much more precise. And the cockpit is beyond words. I felt like I was in the car.

But the dang thing would shake horribly in some parts of Suzuka. So after 10 to 15 laps I quit the race and lowered my bound/rebound from 4/3-3/2 to 3/2-2/1. The change was instantly noticeable. No more bounce, the car was perfectly smooth in every part of the track.
Much more control through every corner.

PD, thank you. You have given us GT6 early.

The GT5 Spec II Appreciation Thread already covers the positives of Spec II. Redirect your discussion to that thread, duplicate threads are a no-no.
