Did someone already mention about the MINI SUPERLEGGERA VISION?

Yes, they do! I just noticed that. It's very obvious when you take it to Goodwood and apply the brakes during the countdown sequence. They "open" when you brake.

AAAAND PD didnt even mentioned it on their car description or anything.

Only PD where other boast on tiniest insignificant things, PD missed the big ones.

To be fair, neither Aston Martin mentioned it on their video. The only place it's officially mentioned is at DP-100's oficial page on the interactive picture of the car. Interestingly both cars released in July had "hidden" features: Aston's wheels and KERS on the Nissan.

About the Mitsubishi VGT, it's supposed to be a hybrid but it doesn't have the battery charge indicator. I wonder if PD overlook this and modeled the car with only a conventional petrol engine or if they only forgot to add the battery indicator. In any case I hope they fix this.

Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo.

Don't know about everyone else but I was hoping for originality myself... these concepts from some manufacturers simply seem to be cars that they would have made anyway, just with the "Vision Gran Turismo" suffix. The Golf was one of VW's annual Worthersee specials, the Mitsu is already a concept, and now this...

Disappointing.

I do like it (possible current Super GT model? :D:D:D:D). It's just the originality that kills it for me (Aston and Mercedes seemed to have no trouble making their own unique VGT concepts).

Well some would argue the DP-100 wasn't unique, but granted the Mercedes was the most original of all the VGT's so far.

I'm definitely disappointed. I was hoping for maybe an AE86 concept (and announce on 86 day (yesterday)). But a race car FT1 with a maybe changeable race number would be cool.

Awwwwwwwwww the Toyota seems to be just a 'racing' version of the FT-1 already in the game. :indiff:

Like how the Mercedes VGT Racing Series is a racing version of the Mercedes VGT, which is also in the game?

I'm guessing you too missed out on the part where it was hinted that a widebodied FT-1 was coming.

Where was all these complaints about "Originality" When Mercedes had their VGT "Racing Series"?

With MB, we dont have that issue, because the first one IS a VGT. mB actually is the one that gave us more than we asked for, they gave us 2 VGT.

Now the issue with Toyota is as followed:

1) most of you, including myself, think that the FT-1 is simply a Concept car. It is none of our fault because we were led to that thinking. Toyota themselves presented to us that way.

2) based on 1), we all here assumed that Toyota would have an entirely new and different Vision. Thats where the problem lies.

3) Just my personal and humble opinion, i have always thought that Toyota should have revealed their FT-1 as their VGT. A VGT that also is a concept, getting serious, and much closer to be a reality than any other VGT. If it was the case, then this race version of their FT-1 would simply be a second VGT like what MB did... and we would have no problem at all.

Just a question.of perspective...

At this point and because of the way Toyota initially presented the FT-1, they still owe us a VGT...

A concept car is by definition a vision... (example: VW)
The FT-1 is a concept, but Toyota made sure not to qualify it as the VGT, therefore they still owe us their Vision.

A race version of a concept car is just that: a version, not a vision.
Example: MB presented their Vision, along with another version oftheir Vision.

ToYota cannot simply just make the race version of their concept car as their Vision, thats lazy, UNLESS they go back and say the FT-1 is their VGT. Which i think they should have done in the first place...

Some semicoherent babbling on the topic at hand

  • The AMG VGT RS is based on the 'standard' AMG VGT, which itself is an original VGT design
  • The FT-1 is not an original VGT design. Hence, the FT-1 VGT is simply an FT-1 with a VGT makeover (much like the VW Golf VGT, the Mitsubishi XR-PHEV VGT). It is not the 'full deal', such as a fully original design such as the AMG, Aston and BMW VGTs
  • On the BMW VGT; although it is a class exercise in BMW design language (and shares many features with existing models), it is not explicitly branded and marketed as an existing vehicle with a VGT makeover (as the Golf VGT). Hence, it is an original VGT design

Interestingly enough, the insider on the BMW is are making reference to the VGT for the styling of the upcoming M2. http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showpost.php?p=16381785&postcount=16

Personally I'd take a warmed over version of a car already in the game, if it looks nice and drives well.... unlike the ass-ugly Aston DP-100 which also drives like a shopping cart full of bricks rolling down a steep hill.

You really saddened some Aston Martin people. :(

Well, looks are subjective, I feel the Aston was disappointing given how sexy their road cars typically are, but that's just my feeling. As for the handling, I can't drive it for fudge, I've been testing the VGTs (stock) at Cape Ring all this week, and thanks to having to tip-toe around, and nurse the front end in, and drift wide everywhere, it (well it/me) is 4 seconds a lap off the pace so far.

Sounds like GM have finished their Vision concept, they're just looking for a good launch window:

"Saucedo said GM is waiting for the perfect time to bring out its Vision GT contribution.

"All of the companies are vying for where they're going to put their vehicle," Saucedo said. "We're not sure when we're going to send ours because we want to make sure we get the spotlight when we launch.""
