The MINI Clubman VGT seasonal event is listed as open for a three week period instead of the usual four weeks that we've had for the rest so far. This leads me to believe that the next VGT (Alpine) will most possibly be rolled out in an update on the 19th of march at 10:00AM GMT. But hold on to your HYPE for now because......

In the game the dates are '26th Feb 08:00 - 19th Mar 10:00 GMT' .... but on gran-turismo.com it is listed '26th Feb 8:00 - 26th Mar 8:00 GMT'

How are we supposed to HYPE properly with these conflicting dates??

It could either be the Alpine or the Lexus, seeing that both have already been fully revealed. Of course, the Alpine may be first on the list. But yes, the whole conflicting dates thing is confusing; which one is the real final date? Come on PD, consistency!

Better yet, they can even release both on one update. They did this with Aston Martin/Nissan and Chaparral/Infiniti, after all. 💡

Of course, that would be even better. It's just that the Alpine is known to come in March, but the Lexus is slated for a "Spring" release, which could mean a lot of things. That doesn't count out a double release for the cars, of course, the sooner the better.

Here you can have a look at the Lamborghini Phenomeno Super Veloce with 990 Hybrid-PS power. The article says it only exists as digital version on the computer... Could it be...?

It's a good find, but I'm with the others.
Many of the other Vision cars so far have reference to the VGT project on them.
I can't see anything on this Lambo.
Also, the name LP 990-4 seems a little too Lambo-typical for a one-off video game concept model.
Perhaps they will stick with their standard naming convention for their VGT, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

Yes, I'd have to agree, there are no direct (i.e. logos and so on) references to the VGT project for the Phenomeno. However, there is an interesting tidbit; there are two types of pictures, one with a wing and one without. Remember people, a rear wing is a classic trademark of the VGT project because most companies have used one, in one way or another. So while I'm doubtful that this quite good-looking virtual rended is indeed Lamborghini's VGT, I'm not ruling it out right away either...

Translated text of the first image.
"Lamborghini has a new bulls in the barn. At least if it goes to the 3D-designer Grigory Gorin, who bred the study Lamborghini LP Phenomeno developed on the computer 990-4. Part of the package are two concept cars: a silver standard version and a pitch-black Super Veloce version. Both have a hybrid system consisting of a V6 petrol engine and two electric motors."

Love this line.
"Above the rear axle, near the petrol engine, at the bottom - to be able to bring a perfectly balanced car on the road, more batteries werewolf inserted at different locations."

Chances are low because of the missing VGT reference, I agree. But I thought it couldn´t hurt to post the pictures.
No hype train intended.

Eh, it's okay, it's always good to see some interesting concepts once in a while. And besides, at least we are not gasping at straws because some company called their concept "Vision" and we are all like "OMG new VGT hurr", right?

Actually, for a render, I really like that Lambo, it's growing on me. I wouldn't mind if that was Lambo's VGT.

Yeah, enough of these non VGT cars!

The Alpine(s) and the Lexus are released!

Only done a couple of laps in each, but I quite like them all. Alpine Race Mode certainly benefits from its racing tyres and its downforce, but the standard model is pretty good fun. The Lexus sounds like G1 Starscream! Goes quite well and revs to about 1,000,000 rpm.

Yeah, they look good,I just wish I could drive them properly, that beefed up LFA kept sliding all over the track.:dopey:

Manufacturers who still haven't released their VGT machines are Audi, Bertone, Ford, Lamborghini, Daihatsu, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Italdesign, Jordan, Nike, Peugeot, Tesla, SRT and Zagato. That makes 15 cars left.

I just took the normal variant of the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo around the Nurburgring Nordschleife wearing Sports Hards. It pulled a 6:56.567 on the first try. This is one fast track toy.

The Alpine (in either flavour) just feels so stable.. you can push and push and push... I did about 20 laps of Brands GP last night, and every lap was blue, I was improving every time round, and that virtually never happens to me!

Well, it's good because we know the project is going at a good pace now.

And it's bad because soon it'll end, and so the thread will probably go into silence afterwards...

Mini came into the project a few months back so there could be more manufacturers added.

And it could carry on into GT7 giving more manufacturers the opportunity to join and the possibility for the ones who've made a concept to make another.
