Well, I gotta apologize for introducing these models, since this thread is all about VGTs anyway. But would it be awesome to own at least a small scale model of the cars that we only get to play virtually?

Why is talking about VGT scale models is considered off topic? It's the same as talking about real size models and digital models in the game.

I would love to have a collection of VGT, but that would be very expensive.
What exactly do die-cast cars have to do with GT6? There are threads on GTPlanet for those kinds of things. This is the GT6 section.

I have no problems with news about die cast cars posted here. I never venture to the die cast thread at the Rumble Strip because I'm not a big collector, but I still find these things cool. The VGTs are exclusive to GT6 so it's still related to the game.

If people start posting die cast news about every normal car in GT6 then you can complain. Otherwise I don't see a problem.

With all due and fair respect, GTPorsche, I think Legend makes a good point here. Are we discussing new Vision GT cars in our posts? No, we aren't, but we are discussing Vision GT cars nonetheless. And last time I checked, this thread is the closest (if not the only) thing that counts as a "Vision GT Discussion Thread", therefore we aren't really breaking any rules within this thread. Not to mention that bumping each car's old threads just to announce that they are having scale models made is redundant and would probably be seen with bad eyes by moderators and such. Since PD and/or any car company that has yet to release their VGT car has not said anything since the Tomahawk's release, regarding a new VGT release, this is the only thing we can discuss that is pertinent to the matter. And the only new news we've heard since then are Kazunori's generally vague interview which he gave at Goodwood, and the demise of the Bertone. Which are hardly good material to discuss, in my honest opinion.

So, if you feel that we are not on topic, fair enough, I won't bring it up again. But I feel that you are perhaps taking this a bit too seriously. We are not discussing diecast models in general, only VGT-related ones. I believe that's being on topic in a thread like this, solely dedicated to VGT cars, wouldn't you say?

So it's a problem on myself that I saw new posts in this thread expecting them to be discussion on the cars in the game, or, by an odd chance that a new one was revealed and news of that was posted, only to find out that it was posts about collectible models?

It's not taking things too seriously. It's an expectation that something GT6 related had been posted in a thread pertaining to GT6 material that resides in a section of the forum related to video games.

To be fair, it's not much different from the times I was expecting some new posts to be news items about new VGT cars, and instead all I saw were videos that have been posted a long time ago, by people who don't bother to check if the videos are even recent and/or have been posted by other members before. Videos which aren't even ingame footage, go figure. At least these news items are somewhat recent and are new to this discussion.

This isn't a GT6 thread, this is a more general Vision GT thread. The concept of this thread isn't a difficult one, we post anything and everything related to Vision GT (including model cars).

I'd also like to point out that you're the only one "expecting" us to only post about the in-game VGT cars and, in an ironic twist, are making a mountain out of a molehill and steering this thread off topic more than the posts you're bitching about.

another one-off from Lambo for Pebble Beach (public debut at Frankfurt Motor Show) but it isn't the VGT yet

I just tested how long the air tank in the SRT lasts. On Route X constantly pressing the nitro button the tank runs out after 2.5 laps. The flaps came back up and you lose the hissing sound, that's it. You still get the full function of the flaps when turning and braking, and the car doesn't suffer any loss of power from the pneumatic drive. I was expecting a catastrophic failure once the air runs out, but I guess PD didn't take that into account :P

Why would it be?

Because it's the classic "It has Vision on its name, therefore it must be a VGT (when actually it isn't even remotely related to the project)" train of thought, of course. You'd think that people would've learned by now that such a belief is simply not true and/or accurate, but I guess some are just too stubborn...

Apologies for the double post, but it looks like some pertinent news have finally arisen regarding this project;

Plenty of good questions can be raised from this picture... Why did Bugatti use a picture of a Gran Turismo pitcrew? Did they forget to remove the game's logos? Is this a prelude to a possible Bugatti VGT, or the Chiron?

The Chiron is more likely, with a prototype rumoured to be getting revealed at Pebble Beach. Dual reveal for the Chiron in real life and in GT perhaps?

It could very well be a double unveiling of the Chiron's prototype. The cases of the GT-R R35 and the Corvette C7 prove that Gran Turismo can unveil a car as it's being unveiled in real life events. If that's the case, then we'll see a new road car be added to GT6 in a long time.

But I still have these lingering doubts; if it is a prototype, couldn't it suit the VGT guidelines? Perhaps I'm gasping at straws, but I still have that feeling...

This is all we have to work on.

Doesn't look particularly wild like a VGT.

Hmm... You are right, it doesn't look all that wild. The balance is swinging towards this car being the "Chiron reveal", but stiil, I won't rule the possibility of it being also a VGT until Pebble Beach. Then, I'll retract that guess if it turns out to be the actual Chiron and not a VGT prelude of it.

"myriad. When GTPlanet spoke to Kazunori Yamauchiat the Goodwood Festival of Speed, he suggested that there were more manufacturers queuing up to join the Vision GT project than the initial selection, though he couldn’t say who! "

Must be the Hyundai!
