(I know this is way off topic....)

There's nothing radioactive in a hydrogen bomb, either. The reaction that takes place during the explosion results in the chain reaction that causes other elements to become radioactive. Anytime you fuse two atoms together (be they inert Argon or Neon), you will have a reaction that emits massive amounts of radiation -- and not just heat. The sun is H-fusion powered, and I think we can all agree of the dangers of solar flares, etc..

But see my previous post on why fusion is not even an issue in Hydrogen-powered cars. :)

hooligan: i could have sworn that they use uranium 235 or 234 in the atomic bombs....yeah those are isotopes but i never thought they considered it to be plutonium...

YES but the fact is that H and other stuff will not react violently enough to cause a reaction that great! If that were so, no matter the engine, you would have a nuclear blast (w/o the disease.)

They used to use U-238. Then they realized Pu-238 was more stable to transport, and much more effective in detonation. The further out you go in your isotopes, the harder it is to come by, create, or maintain. Besides, Pu is a byproduct the nuclear fission in most reactors. Convenient, no?

Does anyone else see the circular argument yet?
