Yeeep

That must be what's in store for us tomorrow. Today it's going to be 68 and tonight it's going to be 18 with -4 windchill.

That sounds more or less like us yesterday. If it's any consolation, the snow isn't all that bad, really. Visibility in spots isn't great but the snow hasn't amounted to much, just a lot of blowing.

Yes. We go from a high today of 86 and tomorrow 83 to 47 on Wednesday.
We are going to have gusts up to 45 mph today when the cold front moves in. Some gusts may even hit 50-55 mph. Wind chill will be in the teens tomorrow morning.

I'm not even meant to get snow out of it. Thunder and lightning right now, and more rain tomorrow. Below freezing Thursday before going back above 10C for the weekend.

That about sums up how things have gone for us. Last night I was driving with the windows down and playing outside with my son. This morning, I'm shoveling snow in my parka.

My last couple of days, highs of 60, 11 and 42.

We might very well have gotten more snow yesterday than we have all winter.

Crap. That probably means I'll get the tail end of it...

Wait, sort of. A bunch of rain forecast early next week.

Another false spring here in northern New England, from having mid 50 degree Fahrenheit a couple days ago to just above freezing and supposedly getting 10 inches or so of snow in my area. Pretty sure it's messed up the wildlife here enough that the birds are eating at our bird feeder without care as I can walk right up to the window and they won't fly away. In just four days, we'll be back to 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

total eclipse.jpg

Not sure if this is the place to put it, but the solar eclipse today was pretty neat. Unfortunately, camera phones aren't the best at getting good photos during the totality period. The actual eclipse looked really cool to the eye. Speaking of cool, that's what happened to the temperature at that period when it dropped probably somewhere between 5 to 10 degrees. It got so dark, it looked like nighttime.

It was very cool. I was looking directly across Lake Erie and you could see the shadow of totality coming across the lake.

The lights on the nearby navigational beacon briefly turned on it was so dark.

We are already planning on going to Australia for 2028 - it passes really close to where my cousins live. I don't plan on being there, but last chance to see an eclipse over Sydney Harbour until 2858.

It has been raining a lot in the UK the last few days, can't remember anything like it.
Lol. Rains all the time in the UK.

Hasn’t stopped raining here… it’s rainy season.

I think El Niño/La Niña is taking the piss now.

I thought someone would say that. This had a different nuance to it pissing it down on so many consecutive days, it was far from normal. The manner it was hammering it down, I am not surprised some areas got flooded. In the news recently, they showed a car with boot open and you could only make the top of the boot lid out it was so much under water on a dual carriageway! Today was so much calmer and looks to be the case tomorrow too.

Yeah it caused quite a bit of disruption around here (W London and High Wycombe)

Flood warning. The local river is about to breach again, cancelling my Friday at work.

Storm hasn’t hit yet, it must be coming from upstream.

My school is on the right at the highway marker 11.

My home is close to the river but thankfully on high ground (just north of where that photo ends) but that doesn’t immunise us from power and water cuts.

As far as I know it hasn’t been a major killer flood, with most people evacuating in time, but the property damage must be in the billions.
