I think it should work well, especially if there are a lot of good vids. I wonder if mine is one of those? :sly: It might get hard to choose just one. Good work BL, look forward to seeing the poll. :)

One question BL:

Will users with a capture card gain priority in voting then videos recorded by a digital camera even though the drifitng was better?

I think its obvious users with a capture card will have an advantage. If the video is harder to make out, it will be harder to judge as well as not as enjoyable.

i have 10 runs done with different cars , i gave the file to my friend and now i' m mad nervous 'cause he' s not send the file back yet : i would be so dissapointed to miss this one : i practiced so hard  !!
anyway i' ll try to get my planB on to give you my entry on time...if i can't do so...i'll post right here my video link :)

but for now it ' s been a good week with good track and action : i expect you guys to kick the **** out of this corners :dopey:

Ok, I'm still waiting on 3 vids, otherwise we're ready to go. I've got 14 good entries to put into a poll. I've recieved 2 vids that are in violation of the rules - I'll post them into the thread so people can have a look, but they aren't going in the poll (1 of the owners of these vids has withdrawn, I'm still waiting to hear back from the other)

The poll should be up tomorrow morning, I'm busy at midnight. The Chinese GP qualifying re-airs here at 11pm (I missed it last night), and the race starts at 12:30am. By the time that is over I'm simply gonna pass out on my bed.

Oh, and I'm posting WDS Week 3 right now, because I'm excited about it. :D

The poll is up. That was a pile of work. Remember you are allowed to vote for two videos this week due to the number of quality runs I recieved.

Please do not vote for more than two or all of your votes will be ignored. Please do not vote for yourself, if you do I will not count it in the final tally.

Appologies to anyone on dial-up.

in addition to the videos shown in the poll, I also recieved the following.

Pink_the_Floyd:

LGForce:

Unfortunately these videos contained identifying marks.

I choose #5 and 13
#05 The SVT for the smoothnest of is corner and feint and
#13 The white RX7, seem little bit nervous behind wheel but the result looks good. Great poll this week too everybody!👍

i voted for the video n°5.it's a perfect even on the realisation side !!...but now...it's hard to give a 2nd cause many are there...
thinking about it

special note for the mercedes riding on " benny hill " : it was funny as hell  👍

i voted for 12 and 13. they looked the best from the others.

i have a question to all who are voting.
What are you looking for in the video that makes it better or worse than another???
just wondering what everyone is basing their vote on, and hopefully this will spark a decent discussion.

Linking, Smoothness/style, Line, Exit (to keep it simple). Quite a few of the vids this week were looking great through the corners and link section, but they were let down by a wobbly and/or offline exit...

- First of all, linkable corners need to be linked.. and most entries this week did that.

- Smoothness and line are connected, I guess. I'm looking for precise countersteer, positioning and angle and a dynamic line (in/out when needed). I think too many entrants this week hugged the inside strip a bit too long during the first corner, costing both speed and angle. Hitting the apex(es) at the right time and choosing a fast line gives more impact than drifting as tight as possible, in my opinion.

- Last but certainly not least, exiting. This proved to be decisive in my voting this time, as only a few managed to exit the drift gracefully. What I'm looking for here is a fast, smooth exit as close to the outside strip as possible. The drift should also end parallel to the outside strip. I saw many good entries this week let down by overrotating and cutting short, exiting in the middle of the track at low speed. I like to compare this to a skateboard trick.. you may flip or tweak your heart out, but what makes it impressive is the distance travelled and the cleanness of the landing ;)

The most important factor is individual impact and overall "awesomness" though :P This is hard to describe, but I always seem to weight the 3 points above heavily when judging a clip.

What first caught my eye was the sheer aggressiveness of clip #8, entering at high speed and massive angle, using the whole track and exiting at the strip (though it overshot ever so slightly).

I also voted for #3, which seemed to make the best use of the track for a low power car. The first turn was very wide, but again it was the exit and overall smoothness that made me go for this one.

Personnally, like Ske said any linkable corners need to be linked, after i judge overall speed, line and angle. An other points for me is just bonus,FR 4 wheel smoke gain more points, how far you initiate your drift, how far you finish your drift, if you keep smoke all over the area, and for sure the smootheness and precision of your drift, of your wheel technique and style can be an effect. But i give some attention to little thing to, what car you take, if is an easy car to drift with or not, naturally more harder, gain more points too, and overall looking of your drift video.

lots of videos to pick from this week :embarrassed:

2 and 8 got my vote :)
video 8 person: nice to see that you're still having a go, even without a capture card
