Permitanme introducirle a mi amigo. El es Juan. Di hola, Juan! Hmm, he doesn't seem to want to talk much. You see the zip ties and bullet holes... Juan likes to get into trouble, it seems. That's alright, he's fun once he warms up to you.

I guess this is Poliphony perpetuating the meme of LS-Swapping all the things. So I don't see why not slap a V8 into a roadster, Miata is always the answer, no? What do I LS/LT-Swap? Practicality be damned! What you really want is to burn some rubber and maybe, just possibly, take some corners without immediate fear of reprimand from the loosely held laws of physics within Gran Turismo. You wouldn't really drive this to be competitive, unless we're talking straight line speed. Even then, you're drag-limited. So what is the point of this car, you ask?

"Why does there have to be a point?" I ask back.

Update I
  • Setup
    • Let's be real, I don't see myself making too many changes to this setup unless the game physics are updated. That's not to say it's perfect, or that it cannot be improved upon. It's unfortunate the game doesn't track non-race miles, so the 300 on this build are a bit misleading. What I've tried to do here is make a balanced base for anyone to easily adjust to their own style and liking.
    • It's still a Miata, but with an obscene amount of torque.
  • Power
    • 450hp is more than enough to race this car. Adding a supercharger and full bolt-ons gets it to about 640hp, while remaining under 600PP.
    • Yet the performance doesn't improve much, if at all.. can't put all that power down.
    • This setup is tuned to handle a over 600hp/600ft-lbs comfortably. I say comfortably, but I mean no less difficult than 400hp.
    • I have no clue how it'll handle anything over 650hp, or if it can even be raced on sports tires at that point.
  • Chassis
    • The car weights exactly 1 Metric ton!
    • Ballast was used to improve the weight distribution for added rear traction at lower speeds where downforce isn't available.

Snake's Update III

How goes it, y'all!

So, I'll start off apologizing for the month-long delay in posting that Miata setup. Along with work, a bunch of things kept taking up my time and prevented me from getting on the game consistently. Things are getting back to normal for me, so I'm back on the grind tuning cars again.

The game's physics seem to be at a stable place in the sense that I don't see any major changes coming that would drastically alter car handling or PP calculation. Although, I'm of the opinion that engine-swapped cars may need some adjustments.

I've cleared out and redone my Favorite Cars list in-game to focus on current and future project cars which will be visible here. The list is subject to change, as I may lose or gain newfound interest in different cars and just the same I may obsess over others. I'm doing this just to offer some insight into my process for any who are interested and also to help keep myself on track.

Snake's Update IV

Well, that was quick. Another month, another GT7 update. I want expecting it, but it couldn't have come at a better time!

I don't mean the update in and of itself, but the drastic improvement to handling physics which it brought; cars that were undrivable before are actually usable now, and boy am I having a blast with the vintage 911's!

I've been making progress on a number of cars in the last week since the update, so I'll be posting a few of those setups today. These cars are in a good place right now, even though they have room for improvement. It remains to be seen if any further changes will be made to the game physics, but you can never count it out.

Also, the V8 Miata has been feeling really good after the update. I don't know if it really needs any changes to the setup but I may post an update to the setup to make the car more versatile for a greater variety of tracks.

Furthermore, there have been changes to F.S.R. league regulations for both Touge and Wangan, which I'll be posting in the OP. Most of the cars I build are for these regulations, so they're always pertinent on this thread.

This car is so fast ... It's actually a bit absurd.
Straight light speed is insane.
Corner entries are scary fast for a street car.
Acceleration is simply violent.

Update I
  • Setup
    • This car is set up to meet FSR's Wangan Masters Tournament Emperor Class regulations.
  • Power
    • WMT Emperor spec is set to 908hp
    • No trouble handling the maximum output of 1,066hp
  • Chassis
    • I've yet to apply Increase Rigidity as it's permanent and I don't yet know the body's handling limits.
    • Most of my focus on this car was getting it to handle the massive power in a race, not just a straight line, so I've left some components untouched until I felt the suspension was competent enough to race it.
  • Drivetrain
    • I've applied the stock differential settings to the custom unit, as it's not a bad setting in the slightest for the car.
    • I do intend to work on the differential on a future update.
    • I'm NOT sharing the transmission settings on this update for a few reasons...
      1. It's an incomplete competitive setup, needs testing against class opponents in more variety of situations
      2. I don't want to take the my focus away from the handling of the car
      3. It'll do 278mph @ 1066hp, but I can squeeze a little more out of it
      4. Suspense!

This has been one of my favorite engine-swapped cars to work on. I was actually disappointed when I saw it wasn't a thing from the jump, but all's well that ends well.

I'll be honest, though. At 400hp, the car leaves something to be desired. It has trouble hitting 180mph on the long straight at Tokyo Expressway East. And I wouldn't doubt that it'll be slower than the competition even at 700hp. Surely it's drag-limited.

That's not to say it's not viable! This setup will give you a good deal of control on corner entries to take full advantage of those fat rear rubbers while minimizing the snap oversteer potential a bit. Acceleration is still good on exits and a bit less dramatic.

Update I
  • Setup
    • This car is set up for Gran Turismo's WTC 600 events
    • Capable of finishing the 12-lap race at Tokyo Expressway East without pitting
  • Power
    • Stock Coyote engine with sports exhaust for the noise, detuned to 400hp
    • Considering a 500hp build on RH tires for WTC 700 events, interested?
  • Chassis
    • Don't overlook the fact that it's a 50-year-old car design
    • It will feel flimsy under extreme ciscumstances
    • I drive cockpit view mostly, so the Roll Cage Type A was used because the other's block your rear view entirely

Snake's Update V:

How do you do, fellow kids drivers?!
Another day, another update that completely alters the PP calculations and physics handling. SMH. Thanks, Kaz.

So, here's the deal: I had a number of cars ready to publish this week, including a WTC700 tune for the Coyote-swapped Pantera, but now the PP has raised drastically on that car and by a good bit on the others as well as them feeling off with their refined setups... so now I gotta go over them again.

On top of that, I have to go over the cars I've currently shared to make sure they haven't been altered too much and still feel right, and update their settings accordingly. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause anyone who's been awaiting any particular setups from me.

That being said, I should have three cars going up over this weekend.
AMG GT R
Porsche 964
Coyote-swapped Pantera for WTC700

P.S.:
Nov. 3, '22: This Pantera has proved trickier than anticipated... Getting it within regulations and still performing as good. The whole point is to be able to do these long races without needing additional fuel (or tires, in some cases).

Simply installing the RH tires and setting Power Restrictor to 100%, with aero set to 100/150 gets it to 502hp and within 700PP, but the car's balance just isn't where I'd like it to be with the stickier rubber. It'll have to do for now, but I'll need more time on it.

Slenderman's Update #3:
Right i'm just goning to get right to the point and not short cut things hear by saying this....
I haven't really been in the mood playing GT7 recently, That and the consant medling with the PP ratings every update which means i have to reupdate an already updated tune... (i will go back and update them soon.)

But bare this in mind i haven't just gone away. I am currently working on Toyko WTC600 tune for the Suzuki Cappuchino with a 13b swap which is nearly there...
Also in the works is a 800PP class P1 GTR as well...

SO until next time....i'llbe back soon...

Nice tune. I adjusted the rear downforce and power settings a bit to be within spec and raced it at the Tokyo 600 race. No record breaker but a lot of fun and a great looking and sounding car!

How did you fare in the event? Any particular race strategy you had to go with to win? What I'm really meaning to ask is if it struggled with the cars at the front of the pack, tire wear and fuel economy, etc.?

Fuel economy is really good, so just FM1 until the end of lap 8. The rear tyres wear a lot faster than the front but they’re fine for the full race. My best lap was 2:10.480. Didn’t really struggle to pass the AI. I think I passed Gallo on lap 5.

As I said: these classic Porsches are just a lot of fun to drive. I think PD captured the driving characteristics of these cars really well. From what I’ve heard anyway…I’ve never been so lucky to drive a classic 911 irl myself!

Also works great maxed out. Using all upgrades, it gets 313hp. Good enough to hit 175mph at LeMans. Thanks.

Also works great with the Swap. I just adjusted the aero to 150/250 and the gearbox Final drive at 4.600, top gear to 330, first gear to 105, and evenly spaced the rest. A rocket. I’m sure you could perfect it. Thanks.
