Will update OP in a mo.

Good to see so much input to this:tup:

I agree with the keep it special sentiment although as someone fairly new to drifting in GT5 and as someone who knows jack about real drift cars it could be a useful learning experience to try out a bunch of different cars just for the fun of it. And more relevant cars than the seasonals often want me to try.

The other thing I'm looking forward to seeing how folk try to make their cars and shots stand out from the crowd - perhaps even for the more experienced drifters who've driven everything before it might get the creative juices flowing?

How about we pick something off the list for the last day of each month and leave the "special" 86 and S13/14/15 days alone? I'm happy with the suggestion for posting pics and discussing theme related stuff in this thread.

JZ day end of this month to get the ball rolling?

👍 I'd love to do this on sundays. This idea is good as well though. Let's keep GT5/GTP alive!!

I like the idea of doing this at the end of every month, just to keep things simple. I also like you idea of keeping the 86 and S-Chassis separate, and holding events for those cars on the days that real celebrations occur.

Tying in with what Duman said about Sundays...how about instead of the last day of every month, we did it the last Sunday of every month....or even the last weekend of every month? I think that would accommodate most peoples schedules.

I'd be down with doing a JZ theme at the end of the month. The only reason I can think of not to is if there is some sort of "official" JZ day at some other time of the year, like with the 86 and S-Chassis. But I think the a JZ theme would be a good one to start with, since it is one of the more popular ones.

A suggestion:
The 86´s day worked very well, because its maybe the most iconic drifting car in history, plus with a date celebrated in many places. But we also could organize "virtual themed meets". We could also decide in common sense for a specific track for these meet days.

Fairlady Z´s Day (for all Nissan Z cars in the history)
S2000 Meet
Euro Retro Drift Rides (for all european cars from the 80s and below)
JDM Classics Meet (below the 80s)
Toyota Drift Car Gathering Day
Roadster´s Day (Monaco)
American Classic Muscle Drift Meet
...

Ill continue if comes up more ideas.

Weekend's could work, with main events on the Sunday? :)

Nice!
I wasn´t wondering that it would happen for real. I mean, i wasn´t expecting that these kind of meets would actualy happen in a room filled with drifters to show their cars. But might a try anyways... if i not be able to join (cose i play gt5 in the weekends very rarely), ill see what car and track you was doing the meeting, then ill bring my own pictures.

Twitcher, some dates that happens in real life are pointless to repeat montly or so... but some other kind of themed drifting days an fit into a structured montly calendar, dont you think?

After some digs in the speedhunter blog, im totaly in the mood to catch similar pictures... drifting or still.

What we need is a "boss" to menage everything. Thats how these kind of threads works. I´m still taking care of the "Custom Drift Track" project, n4ke stills (kinda) taking care of the setup depot...

Lazy I was thinking the same thing. If Devin is ok with it, I'd be willing to make a new thread, and do up a big OP explaining everything that we're trying to accomplish here, along with a calendar of events and whatnot. If I do this, it'll probably go I the teams and meets section though.

Do it! You can put the matsuri on there if you wish :)

👍

I hope you hang the ropes for this one. If you think that "Teams and Meets" subforum is the right place, fine... but im just a bit afraid that it will not get the right spotlight as it would be in the General Forum. As you know, the general forum is much more visited than his subforums (at least thats what looks like)...

If you´re not totaly sure, maybe you should ask some advice to any moderator? Thats what i did in the "Custom Tracks" thread, otherwise it would be in the "Videos" subforum right now.

Anyways, im just triping here. You have what is necessary to make this happen.

So I know I said I would make a new thread and all, just havent had the time to do it. The end of the month is quickly approaching (this weekend beig the last full weekend of Aug), so if we're going to do this, I think we should get things organized a bit lol.

What does everyone think of doing a JZ theme next weekend (Sept 1, 2...3rd too I guess because it's a long weekend in NA). I think trying to do something this weekend is too short of notice...and I think the JZ theme will work well, as it is very popular.

And remember, even if JZ isn your favorite theme, we hopefully will be doing this once a month, so all your favorite themes will more than likely be covered at some point.

Sorry guys, I have been way to busy this last month to organize anything, or get this going.

If someone else wants to step up, be my guest. The full lock idea is not a bad one....no one else seems to chime in with their input though lol.
