I like Japanese cars but I European ones look nicer and I prefer driving them. 60% of Gran Turismo 5 was Japanese cars, they better have variety this time. I hope only 30% maximum will be Japanese cars. As for DLC, it should be the same, only 30% max. 200 new cars does seem a little low for a completly new game, hope they have 200 more as DLC within 1-2 years.

PD are Japanese, it's pretty natural for them to include lots of Japanese cars. I won't be surprised if the ratio between Japanese and European and American cars are the same at GT5

Mathematics says no to 30% in GT6.

GT5 was still 60% Japanese and that is overkill, Turn10 is American yet they were not bias towards American cars in any of the Forza games, they focused on all cars throughout the world. The GT6 Developers better change their mindset, the bias annoys me, they need to focus on other cars.

It's a Japanese game on Japanese console made by Japanese programmers in a Japanese company in Japan. Why wouldn't they promote the products of their own country?

Or else...?

Also, I'd advise against expecting another 200 cars via DLC even in two years. Take the wild figure of three a month (which I doubt), you'd not have more than seventy-two.

"Fewer".

That's a mathematical impossibility.

If 60% of 1000 cars (that's 600) were Japanese and all of them are carried over and merged with 200 new ones that are entirely not Japanese, that'll be 600 of 1200 cars that are Japanese - 50%.

And some of the new ones will be Japanese. Indeed we've already seen them.

It's easier to get, let's say, a Morgan in America. The work is greater for PD as the cars such as the Corvette or Lotus Elise dont fall easily to hand, whereas they are in the US with more sales and even company roots in the US (Lotus made the Exige with a Toyota engine simply to sell it in the US.)

I think this thread would be perfect with the poll option. We should like totally have a poll to go with this.

Here, I will propose you the poll options:

POLL QUESTION: Would you love less Japanese cars in GT6?

- yes
- no
- maybe (shrugs)
- only if less than 30% of all GT6 cars and/or 30% less than all DLC cars

Make your voice heard, poll is the only way to go in such delicate and imoportant issue 👍

:) yes, more polls please - I just love 'em because they're so necessary with the game due out in less than five months...

70,000,000 people have disagreed with you so far.

I wouldn't mind more Japanese cars if they were fun. Its just most of them aren't. The Japanese are very innovative, and whilst this may be good for the future of the car industry, it doesn't exactly make it any more exciting.

It generally goes like this throughout the world.

Japanese: Innovation
European: Style
American: Power

Rather brief but you get the idea.

70,000,000 people disagree with having more car variety? I'm curious when this poll was taken, and the conditions it was done under.

I was referring to the veiled "they better have more variety this time" threat, which sounds like he may not purchase the game without more variety. No he didn't say that, I'm making an inference. Obviously 70,000,000 have been satisfied enough with the variety to buy the game.

Good luck with that one.

I'd say that will happen about the same time, I see an elephant fly.

Forza is an American game on an American console made by American programmers in an American company in America.

Same logic says Forza should have 60% American cars. Spoiler: that logic is terrible.

PD has no excuse for having so many Japanese cars, especially when so many of them are the same ****ing car with a different model name or barely different in any capacity at all.

In GT1 and maybe GT2 sure. They first made a small game with cars from their home country. But now 15 years later with a worldwide brand, the Japanese bias is absolutely ridiculous. Give us more European and American cars.

They would IF THEY COULD!

The other problems are licensing, car availability, available details, time scale and many more. Also, Forza had 34(?) American car manufacturers.

That's a big bias actually.

You work for PD?

Do those manufactures take up most of the car list? No, which is the issue being discussed here.

I like Japanese cars so....

Me too. Honestly, I don't even care about this whole 'bias' thing. I enjoyed the GT5 car list, aside from maybe a few more common European hatchbacks and city cars being in the list. There's still a good range of cars, especially when you factor in the used vehicles.

Percentages can be deceiving. I know there are duplicates but the nearly 40% of cars in GT5 that are not Japanese, represents almost as many cars in the entire Forza 4 lineup.

I am in no way defending PD's JDM bias, but 800+ standard cars have severely tainted those numbers. The premium car count is more balanced.

But PD has a lot more work to do. It still boggles my mind how such a lucrative franchise that is created by such a small staff, has yet to snag so many popular brands. It can't be a money issue. It must start with Kaz.

They need more staff...
