The cars that turn 10 refuse to acknowledge since they're the "definitive racing game of this generation"?

180SX/240SX (RPS13) this car is such a big hit in the drift scene, why oh why is it not in this game

Civic Type R (EK9) the first Type R civic.

Ford Escort RS Cosworth: a European rally icon of this generation

all Caterham...they're so light it doesn't even appear in Turn10's eyes.

so instead...we got a Volvo S60, Saab 9-3, Chrysler Crossfire...

Please add to the list!

Licensing is always an issue, I'm guessing if they could there would be twice as many cars but there are other issues that they just can't control.

I'm with niege on this one. I'm not sure why T10 picks some cars over others. Licensing the 240SX has to be way easier than the JDM Silvia. Maybe they want to milk DLC car packs like they did with FM2. Who knows, but this is one more thing that makes me glad to have a relationship with the Playstation and Gran Turismo.

At least with Gran Turismo we'll get about 1000 cars to start with, most likely including the cars Neige was talking about.

Yeah, you'll get them alright.

Fives times over, too

I'm just kidding, I wonder if anyone has considered DLC? There's a few cars I want in the game but aren't in there. Yet.

I am curious if the R35 GTR will ever get into Forza considering polyphony digital worked with Nissan to help design it.

Many of the new cars are 08'09'10' Many are low end cars and SUV's. The rest of the cars were hand picked by fans I guess.

In Fairness the Volvo S60, Saab 9-3, Chrysler Crossfire are not additional cars but FM2 carry overs so they don't count. Take away the FM2 car list and its not so impressive, no surprise cars there, no "I can't believe they have that" cars.. But there's the "I can't believe the ZR-1 is premium content" cars.

That last post from LaBounti would explain why Turn10 is always able to release their games every year or so.... Their amount of work does not amount close enough to that of Polyphony D.

i wish GT would include all the cars that Forza possesses... at that point, there would be no point for me to be tempted to buy FM3.

ZR1 is premium content? That sucks.

But still... not every game is going to have every car you want in it...

I just saw the thread on FM3 photo session... i really miss that and the fact that it's HD over GT4's version... I might have a change of heart, and go get myself the FM3 bundle before Xmas.... I will still be waiting for GT5 with much impatience tho... i really think GT5 has that little something extra above FM3, visually it's much more satisfying... Altho the Livery in FM3 looks like DA BOMB!! I really hope GT5 has that option!

Maybe when GT gets Porsche this thread may have some credibility. Till then no car compares.

The only notable omission to me is the current Nisan GT-R.

So, whats the Problem of those cars not Being in game?

120 Cars are Coming Via DLC, so if you have the Mony, buy the cars you want and Presto!.....

The problem is that if you already have Forza 2 and Forza 2's DLC, there is practically nothing new in Forza 3 and a lot of the new stuff is VIP membership only.

I think Forza 3 is a good game but I don't think anyone can compare the workload to what's being done for GT5. When you look at what Forza 3 offers in terms of playable content and then compare it what we already know about it's closes rival and you really arn't getting much, especially considering Forza 3 is the second Forza in this generation of games.

That's not to say Forza 3 is a bad game, I'm really enjoying it, but at the same time I don't see any reason to protect the developers for offering almost nothing new. And yeah, there' s plenty of DLC on the way I'm sure, but we have to pay extra for that, all the new stuff is costing us more. A lot of people I'm sure will be paying for it, but that doesn't make it right.

Yes Forza is missing a lot of cars, but what about all the cars that haven't been in a racing game before or have only been in a very small number? Cars like the Trans Am and Fox Body Mustang for instance.

I'll probably be able to make a similar list once GT5 comes out.

Well, sure, but the list for Forza will be way longer.

I guess I'm wishing for the impossible, but it would be nice for T10 to combine car packs in time for a discount, because I sure don't want to end up spending more than $100 on this game including DLC. Heck, that's why I don't mess with iRacing, most expensive racer of all time.

Well they have fox body stangs, firebird from the mid 80's and the new pontiac G8, cars that we will never see in GT5 because we will get at least 100 nissans.

Only 100? There haven't been so few Nissans in a GT game since GT1...

Still, it's interesting to note that if I picked up a bog standard, US PS2 and put in a bog standard copy of GT4, I'd have a carlist which is 7.5% Skylines (without, it's worth noting, any discrimination between "classic" Skylines and more recent ones - 1962-2004). If I picked up a bog standard, US XBox360 and put in a bog standard copy of FM3, I'd have a carlist which is 6.7% Porsche 911s (again, with no discrimination between model variants - 1982-2008).

I've not heard any complaints about having too many 911s in FM3 yet...

Corvette ZR1
Gallardo Superleggera
Aston DBS
F430 Scuderia
Porsche 997 GT3 RS

That's what you get as VIP. Why such a fuss? Everyone knew this, and we were never told that you could get them later. Every one of those cars besides the DBS can be mimicked by modifying the base version of the car which is available in the game. Supercharge a Z06; put wheels, a wing, and a little stripe on a Gallardo while adding an exhaust and a stage 1 weight reduction; the DBS is probably 95% the same to drive as the DB9; F430 Scuderia, same idea as the Gallardo; 997 GT3 RS, the 997 GT3 is in the game. That's about as minute as wanting a GT-R R34 V-Spec II when you only get the V-Spec.

And get this - I don't own ANY of those yet.

Forza 3's a great game. We'll have to see what PD puts in GT5 to decide if it was worth the extra two years of dev time. Until then the only things people will argue about are numbers, graphics, and a psuedo-comparison to GT5P physics.

Because people (as in general) like them? As opposed to having too many Skylines in GT?

I wasn't really bothered by the earlier Skylines of GT4, but more about the R32, R33 and R34 (mainly) versions. I couldn't tell the difference between the R34 Skylines, other than slight number differences.
