Things that GT4 should have

When I did that endurance race I had a lot of time to ponder.  Now when you guys go into the pit wouldn't you like to have a pit crew change your tires?  They do not even come off!  You just stop and there you go new tires.  And what about gas?  You are telling me I can go 150 laps and not need gas in a 700 hp car?  I think not.  I think that would make the long races cooler.  If you had to plan your pit stops to match up with gas.  And had another thing to worry about.  Also, Changing tires in the long races, I did twice in the first 30 laps.  But i noticed that when I got my new tires I only gained about 1.5 seconds a lap.  So I went the rest of the 70 laps on the same tires.  I think that is a little rediculous.  I think another cool feature would be if you HAD to change your tires, because if you went on them red to long that they would blow out.  Now that would make a cool endurance race.  You are racing neck and neck with the computer and they skip there last pit and and flying along side you and they have a tire blow.  That would be sweet! Also when are the cpu drivers going to be able to go fast?  I think that they should try to match up the computer cars to how powerful your car is.  When I won that endurance race the closest person was 6 laps behind with last 12 laps behind.  That is outragous.  What fun is an hour long race with no compitition?  That would make it much more enjoyable.  By the 90th lap I was banging my head into the floor.  Don't get me wrong this game is sweet.  But these are a few things that could make it a bit more enjoyable.  What do you think?

Also add the ability to Drag race if you wanted.  I think dragging against some friends via the iLink would rock!  I would also like to see more cars.... like the BMW Z8, Ferrari F40, or Diablo or the like.

Also ability to save (2) or more different profiles on the same Memory card.

Just a few of my thoughts.....

Great Ideas.....  It was funny, when I first started playing one of my comments was, I'm glad the computer cars arn't matching this monster that I just built.  It would be nice if was an option though.

More, More, More, cars........  Also some detail cosmetic features (paint, stickers, ground FX's for all models...) would be nice.

Another optional view inside the car (Like Need 4 Spd), but with much richer detail.

A non-simulator mode where racing is like Ridge Race, fantisy racing as I like to call it.

Rumors say that by 2002-04 when the new one comes out they'll finally have rights to a few of the power name brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini. Don't expect it though, cuz Microsoft might buy the rights with their new system coming out (which bought gaming rights to Dreamcast).

i dont know how it is in gt 3
but the computer  is really easy
it must be a mixure of toca and gt
the looks of gt and the handeling and opponents of toca
and thy might add a pacecar . and the real racing rules with the flags then i will be REALLY happy!!

Yes, very good comments.  I've not really got into the game very far yet, but I don't seem to see the same sense of speed.  Things just don't seem to be going by that fast unless you're driving a very powerful car (Oreca Viper or C5-R).  Anyone else notice this?

Yea, I agree about all your comments, I think in the GT Auto area besides oil an car wash maybe air filters, belts, the parts that you upgrade should wear, an need to be changed. Gas should be different grades regular to racing affecting the cars hp. The direction Gt series is going maybe these are the next steps.....

to rx7fatboy and bluedawnrider....i was wondering what level are you playing the game at...i never did play the first two gran turismo's, so now i'm playing at beginner level, and i get kicked in the ass sometimes, but on like super speedway races and the test courses i dirst the cpu drivers....as you change the level settings, are you guys saying that the the cpu drivers and cars don't get faster?  i was just wondering.

Future GT features? How about the GT HeadShock Racing Helmet? A lightweight helmet with electrodes (don't worry, you just have to shave off a SMALL patch of hair!) so that when you smack another car or smash a wall, your brain feels it! Check this: you reach for the chip bowl during SS Route 11 and grab a HUGE chip you can't possibly fit in your word-hole (the visor comes off, btw), you're distracted from the race, and BOOM! You wake up three hours later in a puddle of your own drool. That'll learn you for eating & driving...  And let's be realistic, I don't expect this until GT6, or maybe GT7.

I think they should have a damage mode so if you think your good then go try it with damage on (kinda like the Nascar games)or, like when you get up in the ranks the damage gets more sensitive. That would also make you wanna finish it both ways. That would be cool.I also agree with the pit thing its like you pit to get your tires painted blue.I raced an endurance race and had a ridiculas lead and started letting the other cars catch up so I could SMACK em in the turn.LOL

my want is simple... true analog functionality for the buttons on the controller...

either give the Playstation controller buttons with more travel... or add compatibility for the NeGcon controller...

was there a reason for not including the NeGcon with the compatible accessories?

easy, they need to add more types of racing. drag\go-karting\anything would be better.

maybe having 2 more cars racing would be nice too (eh... processor hog though)

The game is called Gran Turismo for a reason! Because the main, and only stars of the games are the Grand Touring, and street cars. If you want stupid go-kart, then look somewhere else.

-The ability to do the 1/4 mile and 0-60 tests against friends would kick ass!

-I feel that this game missed a lot of the faster cars such as HALF of the BMW models(M3 especially) The Lexus models and the Audi models as well.

-What about a DRIVER in the CAR?

Swish31,

Yes, it is my experience that you can over build your car to the point where the cpu racers have absolutely no chance in winning.  This is helpful in building your bank account.

I am only at 13.7% completed in the game and have not tried the amature level yet.  With only three series of races left in the beginners level, it does appear that the cpu cars do not advance in skill or abilities, but rather are at a fixed level.

You will notice, however, that they will intoduce different cpu cars (drivers) that might have better stats than the previous time you raced, but appear to have a cap on skill level and car specs.

Hope this helps,

Bluedawnrider

you should be able to bet pink slips against friends like the game could delete both cars off the memory cards and the winner would get both cars copied back onto there memory card

M-power baby!!!

it's a freakin travesty that of all cars, there is no M3 in this game.  I mean, a game that is supposed to be based on GT racing should have at the very least M3s.

Heck, even our banner on the top of the page is a picture of a M3 GT.

GT4 needs to have the option of having aero kits and stuff dded to your car. I mean, wheels are good but not enough. What's the point of having a fast car, that looks like your everyday grocery-getter. I wanna make my car look as fast as is actually is.

Lots of stuff....HORN i wish they would make a GT game with a Horn....Horns are great...lol....i want turning signals....and all the other important stuff....i would also like to see better pit stops as the ones now are very lame....also 2000 civic SI in tha game becuase that car is tight...also body kits and spoliers for the cars would be nice....i would also like to see a track where it rains because haveing that one track where it was after it rained just looking like the road is glazed with iceing isnt good enough....im out of ideas everything else is perfect....also how they took out the reverse lights in GT3 i hope they dont take out brake lights in GTN.

I think it needs....Used cars, 2-player 1/4 mile , racing modifications ( so sweet in GT2 when you finally put this last touch on your baby ), adjustable volume, more diversity in lower end cars, the ability to win prize cars in all races multiple times, and gasoline gauges for the pit stops.I love GT3.

GT series needs trucks like some sport trucks like Ford F150 lightning model or other small trucks would be fun especially for offroad. Also more options to customize the outside of you car and bigger rims!

it also need a better audiance because what is that? id rather have no audiance than have those 2 different 2d stick figures look at me and take pictures.

it needs the ford lightning and the GMC syclone, i agree. Hey maybe if Fox buys sony, they'll put NASCAR in there! YEAH! oh wait no boooooooo

GT4 needs Ferrari definately....its the car that you really want to be driving. I wanted one so much.. but I had to make do with a red mr2 suped up...
The main reason theirs not too many good cars is because they want to show all the Japanese cars in the best light , and to do this they just left out all the good competition like M3's.... I think people sometimes forget that GT is - along with being a great game  also a huge advert for japan auto industry...
Like in Gt2 where just used cars were available for the japanese cars this is to get young people hooked on cheaper used japanese cars and to get You to be a lifelong eg nissan addict.... apart from more non japanese cars... GTFOUR  needs ... car damage ....in car views like nfs (already said...good point)
and more realism like the Driver games.... eg you can pull in for petrol.... and  direct the cameras .... I could go on but im bored now...

i truly agree about the Petrol, i think it would add to the realism of the game immensly and act just like the tire wear only a little more dynamic since each car would have a different gas mileage and it would depend on how fast adn hard you drove the car. I bet the Escudo is one hell of a gas guzzler.

i don't know what everyone else thinks but i'm pretty pissed that you can't put a racing body on your stock cars.  i'd like to see that remedied in gt4

not to mention drag racing
racing trucks
i like the pit crew idea
more restrictions on horsepower, i get into the beginer races the roadster cup with my miata and beat em by like 15 secs.  so that needs help

anyway just droppin my opinion

AI - so the cars block and if you hit them and make 'em spin then they'll try and do the same thing to you.

More cars - Z8 (like mentioned), Z3, Audi R8, BMW R12, Bentley's including the Le Mans model, Porsche GT1 and try and get that damn Diablo! (damn licensing issues)

Used cars - so if you buy a used car then it would have already done some mileage - that will be good as the is a mileage system in the game

Flag system - If the is an accident on the track there'll be a yellow flag

Car damage - yep, can't Sony (who own Polyphony Digital) give Polyphony Digital millions of pound (Sony have that money) so that they can strike a deal with the car manufacturers to include car damage

Repair shop - if the is car damage and to fix your car if it breaks down

In car view - there is plenty of space on a DVD!

License centre - A classroom where you learn driving techniques before you attempt the practical!

Indicator lights, reverse lights...

Street racing where the is traffic from other cars

Paint shop like in RR5

Horn (some cars get in the way!) and the ability to buy new horns

Unofficial tuning products such as Eibach, Spax, Janspeed, Scorpion...

A couple more cars including Audi S8, Jaguar S-Type and X-Type

GTS siad it right there....my favorite is the horn idea which almost every racing game has except gt series and everytime somone hits me or i need to get around somone i always try to hit a bottom thinking its the horn bottom but then remembering that gt dont got one and they really need one....it just makes in funner
