think about this...(and help me plz)

i just bought gt3... its after christmas.. i bought i without a ps2 thinking the next store i go to will have it... it didnt... so i called every store tha could have it within 10 miles of here and noone has it. i checked several websites... no one has it... stores i called-walmart,target,circuit city, best buy, kmart, electronic boutic, game stop, game crazy, radio shack, super walmart and some others....

anyway, i need some car suggestions that would be good for the gtf races at laguna seca....i cant find one that im good at driving-i can get any car as long as its not a prize car as ive won all the ones i can get...

Is this a GT2 question or a GT3 question? Awww, who cares. Yeah, PS2s are totally sold out in my neck of the city. Same with GT3...I only saw one copy of it in a Fred Meyer's department store hidden away where nobody could see it.

So I'm assuming you're talking about the American National races...the 3 ones @ Laguna Seca, right? (this is assuming you're using GT2). For the first two races, I'd recommend the Mitsubishi FTO. Front drive cars are easier to drive down the corkscrew basically, and the FTO is amazingly easy to drive and handles real good, too. Well that's my idea, anyways. For the last race you may want something with more power than an FTO. What have you tried so far??

Come now, you've got to at least drive American cars in this one...There's the Neon, '99 Cougar, and Focus if you're looking for the compact USA-built stuff.

For the other American Nationals races, try some of the muscle cars. Fast, but varying ("potentially sloppy") handling. I find the Shelby GT350 to be the best all-round Muscle car.

Neons and Cougars and Focuses (oh my) are good choices, but it sounds like this kid is having trouble with the corkscrew...and that means he's SPINNING OUT which would make American muscle a bad choice for him.

yeah i cant drive fr cars very well, and yes im talking about gt2 ill try the fto (i dont use the same car country...) i used my mitsubishi galant for the german ones...i think

I wouldn't say the corkscrew is that tough if you brake for it... and Focusi (?) are very fun to drive I found! Quite nimble if you just put a turbo and slicks onto it =). If you don't like FRs (and I must admit the more powerful ones can be a pain), try a FF. Some are quite good, especially the Taievon FTO if you can swing it. And Parnelli - IMO the NSX is a lot more predictable than many of the FRs, such as GT500 Supras. They seem to have genuinely good handling.
I hear PS2 shipments were delayed in Panama.

No way! The NSX has good grip up to a point; then it's spin city...out of the blue! At least FR cars are predictable when they handle badly. Either way, I doubt that Pain Killer is ready for these advanced cars.

The NSX's nead some tweaking in the setups but they are really good once you get it right. Try a race modded Speed 12, thats the ultimate test in GT2 on any track, and it's one of the best cars in the game.

I agree, Speed 12 is one of the tougher to control beasts, together with Atlantique LM, M12 LM, Espirit and Elise GT1s, Tommykaira ZZII Racer. In fact, NSX may be the most stable high-powered MR after the Copperhead LM. Unless you're using something other than slicks and the downforce is normal, you shouln't have any trouble with the NSX... At least I don't. I think it's the best of the GT500 cars. And since Mugen, Mobil 1, and Raybrig are mechanical counterparts, the Mobil is my favorite because of its tame colors and nice styling. 👍

Umm i think NSX is actually very well balanced and a predictable car. But if you brake to around 50-60 wen u enter the corkscrew, any car can take that. And remember not to jam the accel in the middle. Ok, you can if you want to do a force exit like using a corvette tuned to 667hp and then forcing the accel. like mad to exit at 90 mph while watching the rest of the cars slow down like lil wussies! =)

I occasionally just drive right over the kerbs on the exit of the 'Screw. Saves a little bit of time, makes the Corkscrew just that little bit easier.

i can drive the fr cars i just have to concentrate real hard and be very carful going into corners. im doing those licence tests over again to get better at fr turning. also im working on drifting i found it to be very fun... i can buy any car as i can now get $500,000 per race.

FR & MR cars are the real mccoy of Gran Turismo! And drifting is ****ing fun, man! Keep at it, Pain killer.
The other nite I did the Seattle Enduro in a Plymouth Barracuda AAR. I used a semi-racing suspension jacked up to 155 mm with soft tires up front & mediums in the rear. My car was given full tuning (447 hp) but i could barely keep up with the Shelby Series 1 (when I actually saw it!) I only won the race cuz the Shelby pits on lap 49 (how bogus, by the way). I was driving around on orange tires, barely able to keep going, but the car naturally wants to drift even when those tires were green. Every turn was a drift to some degree!! I won by a margin of +1.749 seconds or something...palms sweating of course.

Nice. I rarely give myself a challenge... I raced the Laguna Seca enduro the other night in a Denso Supra. I wouldn't say it was difficult or close (I lapped every car once, and one twice in the 90 lap looooong race), but it was actually HARD to catch up. It would take me almost a full lap to make up a 4-5 second gap. Once the AI spread itself out the course became kinda lonely ;). I got the Celica Rally Car as the prize (because I never get the 'good' cars after Enduros), and I was surprised to see that this is the currect generation Celica! With 4WD and 559 (?) horses! It's by far the best modern Celica around, if you were disappointed by the mediocre 'Mecanical' Edition. ;)

Yeah, man..I can't do those ‘lonely’ enduros anymore. Every single one I do is a challenge, and if the right car doesn't show up (like the GT40 in the Apricot race), I'll restart the game till it does! Oddly, I love doing long arcade races..I don't mind if I'm way ahead. I think I have a weird psychological thing going: I can't earn credits unless I work for them...if there's no credits involved (like in arcades) I don't mind being way ahead.

Yah, I WAS disappointed by the Mechanical version. It looks cool with that big wing but you can't even take it to 300 hp. I wrote about that, too. Haven't tried the Rally version yet.

I remember taking my STP Viper to the Rome Endurance race, now that was fun. It wasn't a huge challenge, but the Toyota GT1 and, to some extent, the GT40 stuck with me the whole time. The first 20 laps were the best I've ever done in an endurance race, me and the 2 other cars just kept changing positions.

The corkscrew is easy in any car once you get the hang of it. Just run the corscrew license tests over and over until you have it down pat. ;)

well i found that the rx7 i won for the fr car race handles pretty well... so i use that... also i bought the taivon fto and it helped me win. i liked it so much that i bought a regular one for the lower hp races. no im in the gt nationals. also i cant now drive laguna seca pretty good...

RX7s are good FR cars to learn from. There's so many of them..when I started GT2 I got all obsessed with the '83 car and the Infini III, but since then I've barely touched them cuz there's so many other autos to get hooked into. Also, Silvias and Nissan 240SXs are excellent FR cars to learn light drifting. The Silvia Q and K's series aren't as prone to spin-outs.

Personally I despite RX-7s, except for the '83 and GT/LM editions. Their handling is very unstable and 'quircky' (meanwhile realistic), and the body roll during oversteer is really annoying. I appreciate almost any FR, Silvias, Supras, Z's, Vipers, Truenos, you name it. Just not the RX-7. Perhaps their understeer is induced by the light radial engine creating heavier rear mass?

Well, to each their own. I don't know about the understeer, but I do know some RX-7s have their engine mounted almost entirely behind the front axle for a more balanced weight distribution.
