This Can't be good

I really think gt5 has sliped into 2010 holdays. They were only able to show us a teaser, I don't think sony would release gow3 and gt5 in the same month(march). :grumpy:

I think 2010 sounds good. I wonder how accurate amar212's post is now though if we are considering this to be only a teaser with a full game release of holidays 2010........Because it DID sound like either December '09 or March 2010 in his post.

I'm thinking its prob gonna be March 2010 now, but I can live with that based on what I've seen today!

Sony needs the momentum now more than ever. Having a Christmas buying surge is vital to Playstation.

According to Amar's winds this might be possible. November,December 09 or march 2010.

I believe we're looking at 3rd or 4th quarter of 2010 at the earliest.

Why would they announce interactive periphials for spring of 2010 and not mention GT5 if it had any chance of being out near that time?

After watching SONY's E3 display today, I here the winds blowing and they say; many moons until GT5 release.

Just wait for news. With all the things that it will come with, I would rather have PD finish it perfectly than rushing it. At least we get something more. I

Well, if it's Xmas 2010, it will be a long wait no matter how good it is. Unfortunately I have no interest in GT mobile, I'd rather play GT3 with a wheel (looked very similar to me), so I'm stuck with Prologue for the duration I suppose. It is what it is, and will be what it will be!

Well, Kaz kinda hinted that the release date would remain a bit of a mystery didn't he?
My interpretation of Amar's post is a 1. December release (hopefully this year :P )

Personally I've been leaning more and more towards "that other game" ever since the last version though... and after what we've seen so far I'm still more optimistic about that. Actually getting to sit down and play IS kind of a big part of a game's appeal to me ;)

Have to agree with superwally. I don't give two hoots at GT Mobile, yes it's a nice touch but GT5 is where it's at. I don't want a serious racing sim on a silly gimmicky hand held.

I hate to think just how much further back PD have now pushed GT5 thanks to GT Mobile. Curse you Sony.........I'm blaming Sony because I just feel like it :D

I think GT5 will not be released in a looong time...

Gran Turismo TV says:
"This is a concept movie for Gran Turismo 5, planned for future release."

:indiff:

I agree with the first comment, It doesn't feel right racing with a joystick and buttons.

Also, this is just my conspiracy theory. But I think Sony wanted to get a signature game for the release of PSP GO! they had PD hire a whole team dedicated to that project. Also, did anyone noticed it looked awfully close to GT4 with some new cars?

Well, Polyphony's "when it's done" attitude on GT5 isn't exactly surprising - but it certainly would be great if it were done sometime in the future. Looking at their big cornerstone games that we know of for 2009-2010, its going to have to come out between Drake 2 and God of War III, or its going to have to come out after God of War. I'm inclined to guess that it could be pushed back to the early summer of 2010, which is unbelievably unfortunate (not only for GT fans, but also for Sony in general).

They need a massive money-maker, GT5 can (and likely will) be it...

If no one is able to get any more information at E3 regarding GT5, whether it be via interview or more news from the show floor, I would expect there to be a full demonstration of GT5 at TGS this fall....whether it is going to be released in December or early next year.

I still don't think it'll be pushed back to late 2010 though. Just my opinion of course.

I personally think that the latest that GT5 will be released is Summer '10. If PD takes much longer, them and Sony would be losing money specially with the awesomness look of Forza 3.

I don't either, but it depends on a few things.
  • Does Kazunori need or want more time to get damage on all cars, not just racers and possibly tuners?
  • Does Kaz need more time to include a damage engine which causes realistic damage in real time?
  • Does Kaz want to have time of day changes, as well as real time variable weather?
  • Does Kaz need a bit more time to bring on board companies like Porsche, Lamborghini, Maserati and others, having their cars on the disc at launch?
  • Are there any key race courses which are on the verge of being licensed?
  • Does Kaz want to push the PS3 as far as technically possible in this point of its life?
There are a number of legitimate reasons for a delay through next summer, undoubtedly more than this. And like a number of people have said, it doesn't matter so much when it comes out, as long as I can get to the store to reserve a Special Anniversary Edition. ;)

Very well put Tenacious D, puts disappointment in perspective. Instead of thinking 'unfinished', I can think 'including more!'. Sweet!

I was really hoping for December 09 release, the only things that really makes this ok for me is that I know it will be great when it comes. Also it didn't technically get announced until today. Just sucks so much.

Honestly i say, there are a bunch of Whining Bi***es right here atm, i mean i was jumping cuz if joy when i saw the Damaged subaru and all the tracks and cars, i mean Guys here were complaining because PD didnt showed anything and blah blah, now that they show a movie with unfinished graphics (photo-realistic tho) damage, Official WRC and Nascar Support and a lot of new cars to see, u now complain about they didnt said a official release date, i mean come on, it will be out by holidays this year or March 2010.

So whats the big Deal, just enjoy what u just have seen and be ready for a lot of new leakouts now that they have confirmed GT5 and showed something...that means its not a secrete anymore.

-> I won't comment on anything until Amar brings on the hatchet. Right now PD is trying to double check everything before GTPSP is released this year. :)

Without those GT5 would be GT5 Prologue ;)

How about we wait until the week's over before we speculate on any dates, huh?

Chances are the rumor that interviewers were asked not to ask about GT5 is probably true, considering we only got a teaser trailer, so I wouldn't get your hopes up of getting any more info on GT5.
